Court TV Takes You Inside the Colleton County Courthouse

Check out how close the witness chair is to the jurors!

I can’t find the actual video of the moment he is cuffed and told to be removed him from the court.

That would make my day.

MOD NOTE:

I understand cases like this can be taxing on members, staff, guests and all involved at times. Emotions are running high now, but let’s please get back to the topic at hand. The thread is time-consuming enough to moderate without dozens of off-topic posts (eggs, alcohol, yellow suits, personal antidotes, etc.). These topics are perfect for private group chats. :)

I appreciate you all for keeping Websleuths amazing!

I was humbled watching the Prosecution's press conference. CW stood beside his boss, AG Wilson, as an equal. That entire department worked 1.5 years investigating, then spent 6 weeks in a hotel trying the case in court with little sleep. Alan Wilson stated it was a "Herculean Effort".

CW did not steal the limelight but stood quietly at attention. It really was his moment but, ya know, the AG is elected.
BTW, 2022 was DA AW's fourth term to be elected to the office. This win is a shining beacon on his career.

I'm also understanding that this was very personal between elected A/G Wilson and Senator Dick H after a huge fight during COVID and courtroom safety practices.

When I listened to those comments it made me think of the crimes that have gone unpunished in other fiefdoms in rural areas where legacy families ruled the roost. It made me think of the murders of Pamela Buckley and James Freund in Sumter County in 1976, really just a stone's throw away from Colleton County and whether there were clones like the Murdaugh family who had the pull, the power, money and influence to thwart justice.

I am so thrilled. Yes I was wrong with thinking he would get away with it.
Justice for Paul.
Justice for Maggie.

It looks to me like Creighton may have shed a tear or two prior to the PC. He looks absolutely exhausted. Hope the whole group can take a week or so off

Relieved. Thank you all for riding this journey with me! Thoughts are with Buster.
I was an alcoholic little 🤬🤬🤬🤬 at age 20. I think I’ve grown into a fairly successful, kind, loving adult who has learned from her mistakes and tries to only put good in the world. Paul never got that chance because the person he loved and trusted most in the world took that from him. That thought is what haunts me about this whole thing.
The AM’s of the world terrify me! So glad he’s now behind bars forever. Thank you jurors

Made NEWS 'down under'.
Now everyone knows AM, in case you haven't heard.

Story by Ellise Shafer • 2h ago

Alex Murdaugh was found guilty of murdering his wife and son on Thursday, marking the conclusion of a six-week trial that has gripped the nation.

According to The New York Times, a jury in Colleton County, S.C. declared that Murdaugh, a formerly well-respected lawyer in the Lowcountry region of the state, had killed Maggie Murdaugh and Paul Murdaugh on June 7, 2021. The jury also found him guilty on two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The verdict was unanimous, and the jurors made their decision in less than three hours.

And, as much as they got on my nerves, thanks to JG and DH. Our justice system requires that people defend people like AM. I think they did their jobs well and to the point where ineffective counsel will be impossible to argue on appeal.

I just watched the kennel video again.

Sobering.

They were alive.

Their last minutes.

Alec probably showed wild hogs more mercy.

Heinous.

He has no business reassuring his son that it ok. It's not ok.

Late to the party, but so happy to see this verdict! I was able to watch it live on my phone, but not able to join you all in celebration. Thank you, jurors. Thank you, Bubba!

Lots of poignant pics here, including this one.
I hope Agent Owen finds peace after all he’s been through and all his hard work to bring us to this day.

I am so glad he was found guilty!

One question...Why didn't AM take Paul's phone and make it disappear?
I'm a couple pages behind but have always thought about this not so much as why Alex DIDN'T take Paul's phone, but why DID he take Maggie's?

I haven't figured it out yet.
