Three jurors from the closely watched Alex Murdaugh trial speak out about the case and the verdict. “The kennel video definitely played a major part,” one said

Great watching this. Loved hearing the jurors and don’t think any of the three jurors will look back thinking they got verdict wrong. They are confident in their decision and they paid attention to the evidence and common sense details. Intelligent group here. I echo, my thank you for your service.

Hey, @Edvis, spot on analysis as usual. How are you getting along after your surgery?
Thank you for inquiring arielilane, heart felt and doing good despite having being stapled up the spine, think the doc put a zipper back there as well lol. The doc went in and repaired vertibrae and nerve damage. taking it a day at a time and focusing on the cases to keep the pain at bay. and just chugging along toot toot.

But we do not know that he was not having an affair. Nothing would surprise me. That photo of him taking a jello shot from the scantily clad young woman (where he's half naked) comes to mind. He was definitely partying.
I realized while watching the Netflix series that the young woman was Paul's then-girlfriend.
Among the many, many gems in the story at the link, "On July 4, 2018, Doughty (a minor) gave a shot of alcohol to Alex Murdaugh on a boat. Alex and Maggie had provided Paul, Doughty and other minors with alcohol. A photo of this appeared on Maggie Murdaugh’s Facebook page."

Agree, if you wanted to kill someone, pushing them downstairs causing an accident on stairs is such an iffy way to accomplish it. MOO
Believe it was just an accident that AM's first thought wasn't doing good for the family, but himself.

There was no insurance on MM, but She Did own property in her own name that AM may not have been able to get to, unless she was removed from the picture.

I really tend to doubt the properties being in her name had anything to do with it, because he was the one who orchestrated that, trying to shield his assets from the boat crash lawsuits (which was never going to work, but he thought he was smarter than everyone).

As all of the thefts and financial things began to surface, I kept wondering why he was a 'volunteer part time assistant solicitor', it just didn't seem to fit with his seemingly bottomless appetite for money. But then someone here mentioned that he was the only son of RMIII who had sons (and not daughters) and then it clicked.

He was in the solicitor's office (however marginally) to keep the family legacy of legal control of the 5 county area alive and well, and Buster being the only son who was interested in the law, was likely supposed to someday also be a solicitor, keeping the Murdaugh legal legacy alive and well and always in a good deal of control. So much made sense after realizing that.

If I were Maggie, I think I would avoid visiting a divorce lawyer in the local area in order to keep it quiet. I'd probably head to Charleston for that.
There is a very highly respected female divorce attorney in Charleston. I'm sure there are many good divorce lawyers there but many women (and men) prefer this one lady who I have heard recommended by numerous sources. And I recall it was posted way back that word was MM had gone to someone in Charleston but we don't know who, if she actually did see an attorney. I think our source for that was People magazine.

When your siblings are happily married and seemingly doing everything right, especially if you feel any keep up with the jones, it might be difficult to confide with your sister that you are considering divorce. It's admitting failure and it's so public especially when you have had the image of a "perfect" family.

Edvis…. Glad to hear of your progress… guess you could always now walk along backwards on Halloween with a low cut shirt and a smile. Best wishes …. and thank you again for your service, Sir. On the train here and over yonder.

What sweet people! So grateful that they saw through AM and did the right thing under immense pressure I am sure. I'm glad they spoke out and they looked great! JMO

Haven't watched Netflix series; however, read a few articles that it was well known M family home freely supplied alcohol to the young friends. Additionally, Ms. Doughty's story is an interesting one... read a few articles about her experience as well, many red flags were flying that family chose to ignore. moo

Thank you kindly and yes bouncing around from this case which ended in a great heartfelt victory and the GS case which really needs justice to be done. My boots on the ground days in the service didn't help my condition now but small price to pay for doing something with pride and belief.

Ps… Glad you enjoyed the thought…. I think for taking a break between the next ‘bad/good’ one on here…. I am going to listen to some good old John Prine music. There is a fabulous one posted from San Francisco Park Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, circa 2017. Amazing for the heart and soul.

I think AM is starving himself to death, jmo. He was physically shrinking the last few weeks. Remember the excessive candy eating at first and then that stopped? JMO

Looks like John Marvin has a lot of explaining to do.

Excellent points! It wasn't until fourth week of the trial that I realized neither M brothers' have sons... then it clicked for me. lol

Lol, at "bottomless appetite for money"

How else would they know anything if they don’t ask questions?
I would be curious if anyone has more info on exactly how jury selection went. it was going to be streamed but Judge Newman decided not to. They ask many questions in a questionnaire and rule out people. They had three groups of potential and then I believe they were asked more questions by the judge but not questioned by each side. If anyone knows more please do share. Had there been individual voir dire by each side instead of three days that could have gone much longer.

I think that is very true...while he is a victim in this case his involvement in so many of his brother's events cannot be ignored.
