THIS IS NOT THE TRIAL OF MS.HILL!!!

This is a fantastic COME TO JESUS moment for defense and the public. Finally, some order in this whole debacle. This judge is doing a wonderful job restoring order and faith in the system. I love that she set the defense straight regarding the process and that this is not gonna be some wild wild west cross examination of Ms. Hill. I'm no fan of Ms. Hill but the defense wants to create a circus with all the allegations that have come to light about her and judge is putting the hammer down. Defense wants to examine all these anciliary witnesses while at the same time saying they don't know who they will call to impeach witnesses. Smh.

Absolutely agree!
Justice Toal, in a matter of minutes, sucked all the air out of Harpootlian and the entire defense’s trial balloon. Pun intended.
She told them in no uncertain terms that this trial was about possible influencing of deliberating jurors ONLY. And suddenly, all the drama disappeared from this case. And since drama is all the defense’s strategy was based on…it went poof.

The way we were...a room full of professional, educated legal minds and AM in his orange prison suit awaits being sufficiently chained to shuffle away.

And this is a great example of how what the attorneys say is not evidence and not even a correct interpretation of applicable law. It's advocacy. The defense and a lot of YouTube lawyers have been hammering into the public this idea that the burden of proof is on the state and that prejudice does not have to be proven for a retrial. That just the fact that there was improper communication from the clerk of court is enough for a retrial. And this judge said NOPE!

Everyone has been properly reoriented today! Ha! Love it!!

Now with what they have to work with, will DH and JG rethink bringing this to the court for further humiliation and with further incompetence??

It hasn’t stopped them before.
They seem to feed on humiliation.
I pretty much expect DH and JG to be having another press conference soon trying to spin things their way using unsubstantiated rumors and fantasy trying to sway public opinion.
But, ya know, I think the public is sick and tired of DH.

and....Harp stating geez we dont have time or anyone to sit with AM so he can review the discovery. (which must be done to preserve confidentiality) he was requesting to leave all of the discovery files WITH AM unprotected. since the answer was no, he then requested a continuance for the 29th. Judge T said, NO.

seems like Judge T so far is 'controlling' her courtroom.

Unfortunately yes IMO. They think they run the show. Just the sight of DH makes me nauseous.

Good summary of today's events, more at the link:
<snipped>
Alex Murdaugh faces a steep uphill battle in his push for a new murder trial after a state judge on Tuesday limited witness questioning and set a high burden of proof surrounding accusations that the court clerk tampered with the jury during last year's sensational proceedings.

Even if Murdaugh’s lawyers prove that Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill told jurors not to believe his testimony and pressured them into reaching a guilty verdict, they must also demonstrate that doing so prejudiced them against Murdaugh, former South Carolina Supreme Court Justice Jean Toal ruled.

Y’all was Buster at the hearing today? Just wondering….didn’t see the camera pan to him.

Also, I think I’ll watch the hearing a couple more times. It’s just too good! Lol. The tweets and pics of the defense/AM during the hearing are so funny! The defense and AM looked so defeated, drained, and frustrated. Someone tweeted that lawyers do not take court rulings as personally as lay ppl think they do. But lawyers like to win, and this defense team had been flying high lately with the new allegations against Becky Hill and the plagiarism etc. I think it’s possible they were drinking their own kool aid and thought this hearing was gonna go a completely different way! They seem obsessed with Becky Hill and seem to be counting her as a juror in this case at this point!
