First time for everything, I guess. This is a new one on me.
IANAL, but it seems to be a huge appeal issue if this jury does convict after the letter sent to the judge by the holdout.

I found the live coverage. Am I understanding it correctly that the jury went back to deliberate?
The judge in the trial of the North Charleston police officer charged in the death of a motorist is waiting for word from the jury about which laws they need explained further.
This development came after the jury told the judge late Friday afternoon a "further explanation of the law" may help them reach a unanimous verdict.
5:30 p.m. Foreman tells the judge that the jury desires to continue to deliberate. Judge tells him that if they want further explanation of something, they should send a note saying what they want explained. After the jury leaves, defense lawyer Andy Savage moves again for a mistrial.
Jury wants to come back Monday.
I can't believe this.

Wow, what a roller coaster that was.
If recent history is any indication, then imo 1 in 12 people are emotionally unfit for jury duty when it comes to a uniform.
Maybe it's time to change the setup for taking a uniform to trial - since many feel that the uniform has special privileges, level the playing field somehow.
The current practice and this trial will only incite people into taking their frustrations out when/where they shouldn't. Jmo.
Are you serious? You want to alter the rights of officers and make it 'easier' to convict them? wow
Watching the news and another officer fired in North Charleston for using excessive force...N. Charleston is #7 most violent in nation. They aren't going to be able to get officer's to work that god-forsaken place. Bomb it!
