Found Deceased Scotland - Paul McMullen, 40, Coatbridge, Lanarks, left car, 12 Sep 2021

Police are seeking help in finding the missing Coatbridge man, Paul McMullen.

He was last seen on Burleigh Street yesterday at around 12:20 p.m.

Paul drives an Opel Insignia with the registration number SJ66 KWD and anyone who has seen him or his car is asked to call the officers on 101 using the reference number 3693.

The appeal to help find Paul was made this morning in a post on the Lanarkshire Police Department’s official Twitter account @Lanarkshire_Pol.

It said, “Can you help us find Paul McMullen, who is missing in Coatbridge. Last seen on Burleigh Street at around 12:20 p.m. Sunday. Paul drives a Vauxhall Insignia, VRM SJ66 KWD. If you’ve seen him or his car, please call the officers on 101, quoting 3693. “

CONCERN is growing for a man who disappeared from North Lanarkshire yesterday.

Paul McMullen was last seen on Burleigh Street, in the Whifflet area of Coatbridge, at around 12.20pm on Sunday.

The 40-year-old left in his car, a black Vauxhall Insignia with registration plate SJ66 KWD, but failed to return home. He was reported missing to police at 10pm.

Officers say his disappearance is "out of character" and that he has never gone missing before.

Paul is around 6 ft tall, of heavy build and bald. When last seen he was wearing a black tracksuit and trainers.

Inspector Bill McPherson said: “Paul has never been missing before and it is completely out of character for him not to be in touch with his family.

"We are continuing to speak to family and friends for any additional information as to where he might be and we are checking relevant CCTV footage from in and around the Coatbridge areas to try and locate him or his car.

The body of missing Scots man Paul McMullen has been found by police.

Officers confirmed they made the grim discovery around 9.10am this morning at Drumpellier Park, Coatbridge.

Paul's family have been informed and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death.
