But you would have to be inside the garage to open it that way? And then close and lock it once you’re in it?

And I would be surprised that garages would be left wide open - unlocked or unsecured?

So she just happened to know which one in a row of garage units was not occupied and unlocked?
Strange but possible.

To use the ER release, we had to do it from inside the garage but once it was unhooked, we could open it from the outside too. I would also be surprised that garages would be left unsecured but just was answering the question about how one would open a garage door without an opener.

Yes, that could only be disconnected inside the unit. These may not have garage door openers, I don’t know.

But wouldn’t maintenance or apartment office a master for each unit?

I’m wondering if this garage has anything to do with Angela’s last address on Beal?? I believe she moved to her new unit from a different Beal address earlier this year. Did she happen to still have the remote to that garage??

Body found in southern Sioux Falls garage identified as missing woman, police say

Management of the apartment complex, a Lloyd Companies property, notified residents Wednesday about the investigation.

“The authorities do not believe there was any indication of foul play, and the community is in no danger whatsoever,” the email read.
That email quote you mention was one written by management of Lloyd Companies or the apartment complex. When the police spokesperson (Clemens) was asked about the detail regarding indications of foul play, he said he could not confirm that. So it's hard to say whether the police really believe there's no foul play involved, or if that is just how the person who drafted the email interpreted info they had received.

More info from this article in the ArgusLeader:

I think this is the first time I've seen the following statement attributed to Clemens in a MSM article:
Samuel Clemens said:
"She was with relatives shortly before the report was made. It's unclear whether she was at her home or a relative's home, but at some point she left."

Also, the following would seem to confirm that the police did have at least some access to phone records and that those records didn't give them "much information". So it would seem that there was NO call record that amounted to a smoking gun which pointed to one individual that she may have been in contact with that evening while possibly arranging a meeting:
Samuel Clemens said:
"We've been exhausting every way we can to try to find her," he said. "Obviously, cell phones is one of the big things, but we weren't getting a whole lot of information back from that."

And finally, from the article & regarding OnStar:
Using services like OnStar to track her vehicle wasn't an option either, because she hadn't activated the service and OnStar would have to have specific criteria met to give detectives information, police said earlier in the search.
Now that they have access to the vehicle and (presumably) meet a 'specific criteria', I wonder if OnStar might still have any "recent trip" data stored away that they could gain access to.

<ETA: "NO". I'd initially left out the word NO when stating that info in her phone records seemed not to be a smoking gun.>

I understand the email quote was from the apartment complex.

It is VERY concerning how after all this time LE STILL isn’t sure where she was last seen! Based on this statement...

“She was with relatives shortly before the report was made. It's unclear whether she was at her home or a relative's home, but at some point she left.”

If they didn’t have further information, and I lived there it would concern me GREATLY!

Looks like my assumptions are plausible. I reached out to a resident for a map to show all of you.

ADDRESS HISTORY

I deleted the apartment numbers and edited the building number since the children are still living there, but you get the idea.

Concerning or Confusing, yes. But honestly, if LE is still confused about where she was last seen or who she last had contact with, I struggle to understand how friends/family weren't able to help provide more details that might help clear that up. I just can't understand how some of these questions can still be this unresolved.

<Extremely edited to rephrase & more accurately convey my concerns.>

Please stop the argumentative posts, WS is both victim & LE friendly. That means you can voice an opinion, but do so in a respectful way.

My deepest sympathy to Angela's family & friends~

I'll wait for the ME's determination of COD before I comment further.

I looked for a sitemap today!

Did you happen to hear if the garages have openers?

Many questions!

One could always use the contact form to ask the question :)
The Commons | Apartments in Sioux Falls, SD

Seems like there are many amenities, I would imagine there are openers on the garage doors.
Another question that might be worth posing is, how many openers/keys are provided to the resident/renter? I'd assume that a key might be stamped with some indication that it's illegal to duplicate, but can they do that with an opener? Many vehicles have built in openers which can be programmed to match their openers.

I’ve been speaking with several residents who live there. One gentleman I’m speaking with is going to find out for me tomorrow if the garages have a remote or not. He thinks they only have a key, but will find out for me for sure tomorrow. I’ll let you all know when I hear from him.

Was she meeting someone? If it is a real emergency you ask a neigbor to look after your son, right? So she aspected to be back in what, 10m, 15m, half hour?

There are countless applications which can be installed on your smartphone to control a garage door. I have one myself. It also comes with notifications when the door is opened (as in forced) by someone else.

Wow, I need to check into some of those apps! I had just assumed you had to have a newer garage door setup or “smart”
home to have that ability.

Can you please tell me more about how you set up being able to use the app as a garage door opener? Is it a specific app that has to do with the brand of garage door??

I can. I have one like this. It requires a WiFi connection enabled garage door opener unit. Chamberlain has one. https://www.chamberlain.com/myq

I
just don’t see an apartment complex having those types of garage door openers. They are expensive.

On the other hand, she could have programmed her car to the garage door and never changed it. I think it would be up to the complex to reset the code on the garage door. IF they never reset the code, and she had programmed her cars homelink system to the opener she would still be able to gain access.
