Searchers and the Motion Regarding TES

Joseph Jordan was posting as Firesweep and was very active from 8/3 to 12/28/08 posting (apparently not just on WS), searching and organinzing searches, contacting the media (seems someone at Fox was his contact), trying to get Suburban Dr. renamed for Caylee, etc. You can pull up all his posts if you go to his profile. I did and the only one that I can find that relates to TES and I assume the search on Suburban Dr. was on 9/9/08.

I have a question regarding the TES search- are they done period or just for the time being?

We were told they are coming back when they receive credible more definite tips from the family or the water recedes

Essies - he originally posted as josephsjordan - not firesweep. Why would he change his name here? I find that odd. But maybe it is commonplace.

It was a runoff area for the road and never completely dried out. Searchers would more likely move quickly inward to look, who would expect the remains to be tucked in so close to the road!!!! TES nearly lost an ATV in the water.

The science speaks volumes about the scattered remains and plant life but the question is, will the Jury relate better to eyewitness testimony (based on false memories of exact location) or science? The science completely debunks these claims IMO.

I'm hoping the prosecutor is going to take the jury right out there to where Caylee's remains were found, so they can see it first-hand. That, along with some 3D mockups to show the water level should show the jury clearly why Caylee's remains were obscured from ready view.

There is also a josephsjordansr who posted. Same person-I don't know!!:waitasec:

Yep, thanks to great research and documentation by our WSers in one of our threads, which I just happened to have been digging through a couple weeks ago looking for something else lol.

I'll ferret out the pertinent links in the morning, and post them in this thread.

ETA: Well it was easier to find than I expected :-)

Crime Scene Photos #3 thread: Crime Scene Photos #3 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Start around post #610, noting where there's discussion of the topography of the area. You get visuals (maps, pics) to go with the discussion, which are very helpful.

Thanks!
I went to the remains site processing I have saved on a flash drive. I found this topography map on page 50. I focused in on the area where the skull was found and enlarged it:

remainssitetopography.jpg

At the grass area by Suburban it starts at 82.41 and at Area A (skull and bags) it is 80.0. It then slopes to 79.5 for Area B.

Search for Caylee Continues -- Online
Helpful Volunteers and Bloggers or Interfering Vigilantes?
By ASHLEY PHILLIPS
Aug. 27, 2008
<snipped>
When 27-year-old Joseph Jordan first heard the convoluted tale of missing 3-year-old girl Caylee Anthony, the story resonated with the Coco, Fla., father of two.
"It was close to home. We wanted to help," Jordan said. "The family seemed really frustrated and, initially, that's what prompted us to go out and try to help."
Using message boards on the Web sites Websleuths.com and Sacredmonkeys.com, Jordan found those fellow amateurs -- other concerned citizens who wanted to organize search parties for the young girl.

So we have all 3 "witnesses" admitting they searched on their own at one point or another. I hope MN is all over this in regards to the motion opening up all of TES records.

I've just finished reading all the news from 11/23. It's been a "you snooze, you lose" sort of day! I found this bit from today's TES motion.

One of the volunteers, Laura Buchanan, of New Jersey, submitted a sworn statement that may provide ammunition for Casey Anthony's defense.

In the statement, Buchanan wrote:

"On Sept. 3, 2008 … I personally searched near the privacy fence and worked my way towards, and then the spot, where the body was found.

I did not notice anything unusual. I did not notice a strange smell. I noticed no buzzards, nor unusual animal or insect activity.
It is my opinion that the remains of Caylee Anthony were not there during the time of our search."

There were a few things that bothered me about this statement (BBM).

First of all, by September 3, the body would have been completely skeletonized and there would be no buzzards or animal activity at that point.

As for the "unusual insect activity," again, there wouldn't be large hoards of blowflys in the area.

Finally, in early September, there was standing water in the area where the plastic bags were eventually found, as well as the remains. This searcher mentions nothing about wearing hip-waders to get through the water!

TM refused to go into any of the water-filled areas for fear of pushing the fragile remains down into the mud.

Most of the tiny bones found by LE in December were totally hidden by the dense undergrowth. This person might have found a recently deceased person, complete with buzzards and blowflys, not skeletal remains.

IMO the point is not access to the TES records per se but to make a key point in the media.

JB never ever picked up or processed the tipline records he made multiple motions on, likewise he will never review TES records --- he wants to discredit LE investigations and discredit TES searches/records. Perceptions to taint the Jury pool.

Yup! All these motions are just to delay, delay, delay, and to poison the potential jury pool. When it comes right down to trial time...KC's defense team ain't got nada to present in defense of her.

I posted this in a discussion of the motion on the JW thread. I've edited it down based on the fact you all posted this information already! At least in her interview with Allen at the site, she admitted there was water there and she was afraid of coral snakes.

There is no mention of standing water, hip-waders, etc. Authorized searchers would not have gone into the water. TM pointed out the problems with that when he called off the search.

Also, if TES did not search the wet areas and these people were not at the site with TES, how in the world would TM even have records of it.

Short work for MN, IMHO.

Oh, I think you are so close.....I also think we are very, very close to a doc dump (perhaps within 24 hours) judging by the flurry of Current News updates. Now Baez has filed a motion claiming Tim Miller lied in court???

Something is about to happen....

See....this is what really chaps my a$$! Texas EquuSearch spent thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours, countless time, etc., searching for Caylee and this is the thanks they get? :furious::furious::furious: I have donated money to TES and am outraged by even the intimation that Tim Miller lied in court!

Thanks to Baez & team, the future doesn't look so great for volunteers! :furious::furious::furious:

I would think the odds of that would be astronomical.

Do you know how deep it was? Sorry I cannot recall. I will look it up but thought perhaps you might know offhand.

Was this the same area that TES thought they could get stuck on ATV's or run over unseen items/remains? If that is the case, it could be anywhere from 1-3 feet deep, I would think.

I think you're absolutley correct. I can see families visiting for T-Day chit-chatting all over the U.S. Most aren't as caught up as WS'ers. The D. team probably needs to get their shots in before a week of family get-togethers. And remember - alchohol may be a factor!

Really great post! That's what I was thinking, but you worded it perfectly!!!

This is more misdirection and static from the defense and has no basis as an actual defense.

The searchers not finding her body proves only what was already known- her body was not located during those searches.

Roy Kronk killed Caylee, disposed of her body, Tim brought his searchers cleared an area, at which point someone (Roy? Jesse? Who gets this badge of honor, Tim? one of his searchers in "unreleased" TES records?) moved the body to the location where the killer himself began calling 911 to report it?

Really?????

And of all the people that could be accused of lying in this case he is going to start that list with Tim? Wow... just wow.

I'm up too late to be able to decipher this information I found, so I thought I'd just post the links and hope that someone else can summarize it all:

Here's a map showing the amount of rain left by Hurricane Fay:

The map is from this article:

Here's the (unofficial) weather history for Orlando for August 24 - September 07:

Wunderground.com is a fairly reliable site, imo, but it only allows you to see two weeks of weather history at a time, so if you want to look at other dates, click on the "Trip Planner" link, or click here:

this nonsense is reminiscent of the nutjobs who theorised that the bodies of laci and (a full-term delivered--their theory, not mine) conner peterson were held for months in a saltwater aquarium with barnacles and whatnot in it, in order to replicate the bay conditions, prior to their being placed on the shore to frame scott. it might seem plausible if your lunacy manifests in starting from a false premise and ignoring all the other evidence, but thankfully the odds of getting a whole jury with that brand of malthinking is extremely low.

FWIW...Yesterday, I couldn't find my cell phone. I searched my purse 3 times. Now, my purse is a mess, I admit, but probably not comparable to an overgrown swamp area. And I've never once found a rattle snake in there. On the FOURTH search, I found my phone. At first, I was thinking it was in there all along. Now I'm thinking the local meter reader must have taken it and then put it back after my 3rd search.

I think most jury members will have had the experience of searching a relatively small area--home, car, dresser drawer, purse--for something and missing it the first few times. Is it really that difficult to believe that Caylee was overlooked in that large, overgrown, swampy, wooded area?

The defense can claim all day long that Caylee's body was placed there after Casey went to jail if they want..
I feel that if all these testimonies are allowed in saying that the body wasn't there, or I searched there and nothing was there, then the prosecution should be allowed to show the video of Casey learning a body was found the day it was, from jail.
Who knows, they may also have video of her reaction to the Blanchard Park search, they may have video of where they sent dive teams in the lake near there for "training purposes"
Once again, Casey, by her own actions are going to prove that she knew where Caylee was..
The video from the jail on the day the remains were found will discredit all this non sense about the body not being there. I do think that when she seen the coverage, she knew her a$$ was busted!

Excellent point, Phumi! and you knew what your phone looked like, right?

The searchers were looking for Caylee, and didn't know what she might look like at that point. They didn't know to look for bags (trash or laundry) blankets, or what...

Maybe someone should as Ms. Buchanan from NJ if there was any location she could NOT search...due to standing water.
