Horror as man is stabbed to death in broad daylight​

28th January, 2025

“A major manhunt is underway after a young man was stabbed to death in a walkway near a busy train station.

The man was attacked on Shellharbour Road in Dunmore, near Shellharbour Junction train station on the NSW south coast shortly before 3pm on Tuesday.”


 

Shellharbour train station murder accused remanded in custody​

29th January, 2025


“A woman charged with murdering a man near a New South Wales train station will remain in custody for at least two months.

Albion Park Rail resident Tamara Lee Doust, 35, is accused of fatally stabbing a 25-year-old man at about 3:00pm on Tuesday.

The victim, who has not been formally identified, was found on Saturn Crescent at Dunmore behind the Shellharbour Junction train station.

He was treated by paramedics for critical injuries, including a stab wound to his abdomen, but died at the scene.

Ms Doust was arrested at an Albion Park Rail home on Wednesday morning, and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was charged with murder.

Another charge of accessory after the fact of murder was added by police prosecutor Richard Noverton.”


 
They have released the name of the deceased, Jack Westren…

but still have no update on the reason for the tragedy.


Seems he was n trouble with law a few years ago, and apparently lives with an acquired brain injury.

Teenage boy arrested after fatal stabbing near Shellharbour​

“A teenage boy has been arrested following an investigation into the death of a man near Shellharbour yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, about 3pm (Tuesday 28 January 2025), after a 25-year-old man was found critically injured.

Following inquiries, a 35-year-old woman was charged and remains before the court.

About 3pm today (Wednesday 29 January 2025), detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy at a home in Horsley.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where inquiries are ongoing.”

Young disabled man may have been 'lured to street' before alleged murder in Shellharbour​

“A 35-year-old woman has faced court over the alleged murder of a young disabled man who was stabbed to death near a train station south of Sydney.

9News understands police are investigating whether 25-year-old Jack Westren was lured over TikTok to a street in Dunmore, near Shellharbour station.”


 
Now the reports show that the Police must believe that the woman didn’t commit the murder….

Police prosecutor Richard Novatin told the court an additional charge was laid against Doust following her arrest - accessory after the fact to murder.

Court documents in relation to the second charge alleged Doust 'did receive, harbour, maintain and assist' an unidentified person, knowing they'd committed murder. “



 

Teenage boy charged with murder of Shellharbour man​


“A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder over the death of 25-year-old Jack Westren near Shellharbour, NSW, this week.

Police allege he was stabbed while under attack by a number of people who fled in an Isuzu MU-X, which was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and is being forensically examined.

A 35-year-old woman, Tamara Doust, was arrested at a home in Albion Park Rail on Tuesday night and charged with murder.”


 
“A teenager has been refused bail at Children's Court after being charged with the murder of a man outside a train station in the New South Wales Illawarra region.

Police alleged a 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed while being assaulted by a group of people just before 3pm on Tuesday.

The teenager appeared before Campbelltown Children's Court today and was refused bail.

The 15-year-old is the second person to be charged in relation to the alleged murder. “

“Police are continuing to appeal for information to identify a third person who may be able to assist with inquiries, following the alleged murder of a man near Shellharbour this week.

Following inquiries, a 35-year-old woman and a
15-year-old boy have been charged and remain before the courts.

As investigations continue, police are hoping to speak to a male seen in the area at the time of the incident, and who may be able to assist investigators.

The male is described as being aged between 15 – 18 years old, of Caucasian appearance, with brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a ‘Penrith Panthers’ jersey, black shorts and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this person is urged to contact Lake Illawarra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

“A 13-year-old boy has become the fifth person charged by a police strike force set up after the alleged murder of Jack Westren near an Illawarra train station, as detectives continue to investigate the fatal stabbing.”

Fifth person charged following fatal stabbing at Shellharbour​


“A 38-year-old woman, 15-year-old boy and two 13-year-old boys have been charged in relation to the incident and remain before the courts.

Following inquiries, about 9.50am yesterday (Monday 17 February 2025), a 13-year-old boy was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, affray, and custody of a knife in a public place.

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear in a Children’s Court on Tuesday 8 April 2025.”

 

Now a 12 year old girl has also been charged!!!!! I wonder if it is the daughter of the woman who has been charged with murder? She has a 12 year old daughter. IMO

Following further inquiries, about 9.30am today (Thursday 27 February 2025), police arrested a 12-year-old girl.

She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was charged with affray, and assault occasioning aggravated bodily harm in company of others.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Tuesday 25 March 2025.

 
Yet another teenager charged - 7th person charged! What a great job the Police have done in rounding them up!

Boy, 15, the seventh person charged after fatal Shellharbour stabbing​


“A teenage boy has become the seventh person charged following a fatal stabbing that left 25-year-old Jack Westren dead.”

One 12 year old girl and one 13 year old boy were in a children’s court regarding this matter today.



“Following further inquiries, about 9.30am today (Thursday 27 February 2025), police arrested a 12-year-old girl.

She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was charged with affray, and assault occasioning aggravated bodily harm in company of others.


She was granted conditional bail to appear at children’s court on Tuesday 25 March 2025.”






Following further enquiries, two 13-year-old boys were arrested 100km apart in Thirroul and Nowra on Wednesday.

Both boys were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and affray.

One teen was refused bail and appeared before a children's court on Thursday where he was granted bail. He will reappear in court again on April 1.

The second boy was also granted bail and is due to front a children’s court on March 25.”



 

13yo charged in connection to fatal Shellharbour stabbing faces court for first time​


“Albion Park Rail resident Tamara Lee Doust is charged with murder and being an accessory after the fact to murder in relation to the death of 25-year-old Jack Westren.

The woman accused of the stabbing murder of a man near a Shellharbour train station has had her matter mentioned in court, while a child charged in relation to the man's death has faced court for the first time.

Doust first faced court on January 29, and her matter was mentioned again at Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.

The court heard that police had served part of the brief of evidence on the defence.

The police prosecutor requested another eight-week adjournment to deliver the remainder of the evidence brief, given the nature of the charges.

Doust, who remains in custody, did not appear on this occasion.

Her matter was adjourned to May 21.

Six children aged between 12 and 15 have also been charged in connection with Mr Westren's death, one of whom - a 15-year-old boy - is charged with murder.

One of the children, a 13-year-old boy, faced a Children's Court for the first time on Tuesday, charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others.

His matter was adjourned for police to prepare and serve the brief of evidence.

He will return to court at a later date.”
