This is an interesting photo. The investigators are standing on the other side of the street just watching as the family loads up the trailer with his belongings after they released the house. Why?

I caught that too. It was weird. If there was a need for LE to keep the press away or something, you'd see uniforms out, not investigators. I had the same thought about their presence in Chester yesterday.

Like Chestergal mentioned, LE wants Chris to know he's being watched.

(sorry for the delay - I was reading back on the thread)

As you know I have to be careful with what I say on here. If he gets arrested I will be more open about what I say on here.

Most of the people I know do not attend the Grace Church and many of these people think he did it. But on the other hand the church has a big following here with people who live in town and who live in the towns outside of here. (most other towns are 20 minutes away in any direction) It is very rural here.

The church is very well supported by it's members (including financially) - so I would say that many if not all the church members are supporting Chris in many ways. (cough cough)

I have heard that the church is very tight knitted and they expect all the members to be tight knitted and for them to donate to the Church to excess. If you don't they will shun you. I have never heard of anything that the church has done for the community here.
I also know one of the families that originally started the church (not the Coleman's) and I have had some run in with them but it safe to say this because they have had run ins with many people here in the community.

I truly believe that if Chris is found to be guilty of killing his children and wife that his Daddy and the rest of the family will be ran out of town even by fellow church members if he is found guilty. I wonder if Chris would end up in Menard (the state prison here) if he is found guilty. Menard is not a place he wants to end up at.

Chestergal, what are the locals saying about this? By your description the community sounds like the type that would circle the wagons. Would they be the type to blow LE off as well?

The below article states that mom and boys were strangled. Verified info or assumption?

http://www.bnd.com/100/story/765109.html

(snip)
A week after a Columbia woman and her two young sons were strangled, police haven't named any suspects, but Monday, they took fingerprints from the husband and father, Christopher Coleman.

I think Pertzborn is confused - he also is claiming he did not say we pretend to solve cases (on his twitter page).

(Pertzborn go back and watch the taping of today's show as I rewound my DVR many times to hear what you said. Anyhow I always have liked you Pertzborn but you were kinda unfair when you talked about Websleuths.)

I'm scratching my head here. Who poster here has claimed they actually know Chris Coleman? :waitasec:

Dang, would love it if we could make that happen!

IIRC, the " strangled" came from a neighbor that said LE told her/him during questioning. I haven't read where LE actually said this.

He did say we pretend to solve cases on here... I don't Twitter so I just posted here for him to go back and watch the taping of the today's morning show with him on it.

I always liked Pertz but I was surprised how he acted today on his show about this website.

Oh well... he should just join up here.

Chestergal... never said pretend...you may want to clarify

Glad to hear it, Pertzborn! Now...exactly what did he say, Chester? LOL I will have to take back my wisecrack.

I think Pertz has gained some fans from here, too. (We just increased your twitter readership! Welcome to WS, PB!)

Thanks PB, Good to know about the autopsy!

PB is right. The autopsy will show the TOD (time of death) which will be crucial in this case. It will also provide additional evidence in the COD (cause of death) and MOD (manner of death).

It takes 4 minutes to strangle someone. During this time, people fight for their lives. To strangle 3 people would take some effort and time (again with the time factor and being comfortable to proceed without the worry of being found inside the home). The transfer of bodily fluids, DNA, or lint from a shirt can be found along with fingerprints, palm prints, bruises, and other things. If the killer was scratched, fingernail scrapings can provide the perp's DNA from the victims.

I would think that Sheri put up a fight unless he rendered her unconscious first. I am anxiously waiting to see if Chris had any unexplained scratches, bruises, or cuts on his body.

Finally, I can respond. Hey everyone, I'm completely new at this but I wanted to share a few things that are wrong with what some of you know about the investigation. (I know that I am correct because I live 8 houses down from the Coleman's and I was there on tuesday morning and afternoon watching the story unfold, just like a bunch of other neighbors)

The story that I have heard, is that between 6-9 months ago the family was receiving threats in the mail, related to Chris's job. Sheri notified the local school district, where her children attend and Chris notified the cops. The Coleman's live on a street corner so there is a house diagnally from it as well as across the street. Now, a police detective, who lives diagnally, asked the one who lived across the street to keep a watch on the house in case they see anything unusual. This neighbor, has been quoted by the news and spoke with me, because he never saw anything out of the ordinary. The only person he saw near their mailbox was CC.

Now, there isn't a issue about the gym, because normally CC works at night, this monday, he did not. So, the gym working out in the morning was not usual. At 3AM, neighbors reported hearing screeming and fighting. The nighbors also have dogs that bark at anyone not known to them and the dogs were silent all night long. At 5:30 CC left for the gym. At 6:00, the neighbor, who lives across the street, came out and did some jogging and let the dogs out, he said he saw nothing unusual. 7am, now here is the kicker, and I can post more in about 2 hours, but, the police DID NOT find the bodies!!!!!!! I repeat, do not believe the cops nor the news people!!! I was at the house at 8:30am, CC called from the gym and when there was no answer, he went home after calling the cops. He was at the house first!!!! The nighbor across the street, saw CC go into the house, and come out crying and wailing. CC sat on his lawn and called JM, the neighbors called the cops. When the cops arrived, CC went back into teh house with them. I know this because CC's car was still running and in the driveway, with its door open, when I drove by at 8:30. He ran out of his car in such a hurry to get into the house, that he left the door wide open. Why would he have done this if the cops were already there and would have already gave him the bad news?

PURE UNADAULTED GOSSIP (that's how you say it, right?)

The name of the friend from ST Petersburg was revealed last night on the comment section of the St Louis website.
First name Tara, last name starts with L.
Can't reveal last name here, rules apply, you know....

Well, I guess JP has one more person following his Twitter since he has realized how awesome our little site here is.:) Hello, Artie Gumshoe!
Personally, I don't think LE would be so quiet or so intense if their scrutiny was not solely on CC. I expect something should break shortly.

Artie Gumshoe, welcome to WS!

Artie, I've always wondered why the neighbors would call LE if LE was already there. Good info, thanks.

PB:
Welcome to Websleuths! :)

When you say "Autopsy will play a big part in time."

Are you referring to,...........as in TOD? Like what we've read from alleged 'leaks,' that the TOD is PRIOR to 5:00 a.m. or between 3 - 5 ?

Artie, again, welcome and thanks for the information. I have a question regarding what I bolded above. If neighbors knew they were receiving death threats, did any of the neighbors who heard the yelling and fighting at 3 AM call the police? If not, do you have any idea why they wouldn't? I would assume if it's a relatively close knit neighborhood and people KNOW there have been issues, they would alert LE to something like that.

Another mystery.

Hallo All,

Mr. Pertz, welcome to WS. Yes, we get the autopsy thing. Several days ago (and many pages ago, hopefully you read the whole thread) -- we picked up on someone at a newspage comments area that said they had been given info from someone on the inside i.e. they knew certain things their only confusion was if they had learned that the time of death occurred either 11 hours from time of autopsy or time bodies were found -- they were not clear on that point which they had heard. And yes, we know to consider the source...maybe they were no source at all but we do not ignore certain things.

This was a "liver temperature" thing, according to this above source -- and how many new sources know that kind of thing about autopsies? Whoever did the autopsies measured those liver temperatures. BTW, liver temp drops X amount per hour (relative to room temp) -- so whoever did the autopsies pretty well got the time of death UNLESS something had been done to the bodies to try to mask that (set the air conditioner up or on, etc.)

ArtieGumshoe! welcome to WS, thanks for your insight! It is folks like you who step in to comment that can really assist us.

I have a question AGumshoe... Since you live near to the family -- did you ever see them doing bow and arrow practice towards the lake?

Thanks Artie... Glad you are here (you are up there in Columbia and I am here in Chester) - I would like to send CC back up your way while we wait for LE to do their job!!! (LOL - would you like your neighbor back?) I am upset he is still free and staying down here in Chester but I know LE is watching him closely here.

The Websleuth sign up waiting period sucks. It was driving me crazy too because I was dying to post what (little) I knew on my end.
