the thing is: that if an arrest is not made soon, everyone will be pissed. Columbia touts itself as the Perfect family community and if something like this happens, everyone wants to make sure their families are safe. Also, fyi, there are at least 5-10 houses being sold in the subdivision and no one will be able to sell their houses until this thing gets finished.

For someone like me, who has children and a wife, I am not entirely worried because I know its an isolated case but I know that my neighbors are worried because the LE is treating this like a huge mystery.

the spock link helped me to backtrack to her MySpace page yesterday

whoever originally posted it and I discredited it because of the "excited" icon .. I was wrong saying it couldn't be a friend .. but I still find being "excited" in odd of having lost a reportedly dear friend

but she could have other areas of her life to be excited about !

If she was a good friend and the one police went to FLA to talk to she may be excited because she may have known things about the Coleman marriage and maybe she knows he is going down for killing her friend and her friends 2 sons. Just saying

no, they will continue their investigation past today IMO

I'd rather LE take their time instead of rushing. Sheri, Gavin & Garett deserve an "air tight case" against their murderer!

Major Connor said last night that the MCS would be staying on the scene for at least several more days. That doesn't mean an arrest won't be made before then. As we've seen with too many cases before this, their work isn't over just because an arrest was made.

I also hope that LE searched this site also. It is on the west side of 255 at the JB Brige on the Missouri side on Koch Rd (pictures here show the area well including the JB Bridge)

It would not take any time to drive to the site and throw something out into the over grown weeds.

I know the police have to watch what is said but it must be terrible to live there and not know for sure if an evil maniac crazy family killer is on the loose.

If they would release the pertinent information, we would be more than willing to tidy up the loose ends for them.

My wife went into chaos mode and thanks to our ties to the community, we got the local alarm installers to place the best alarm into our home, on tuesday afternoon! We also had some extra locks put in and whatever makes my wife feel safe is fine with me. I lived most of my life in STL, which is still in the top 2 most dangerous places to live, and I never had anyone get murdered this close to my home.

I know that they are working on a case, but still, not telling the people that they even have a suspect is making everyone a bit antsy.

I saw the tragic results of using steroids...a former colleague of mine and his wife were using steroids to bulk up. (He was always slight of build). They were going to Mexico to purchase them. He was a gentle, wonderful person but apparently the depression and paranoia took over. He drove himself to a field on the outskirts of town and committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. He was found by a local farmer completely naked. However, before he committed suicide, he put all his financial affairs in order and wrote letters to his wife and two daughters. Friends of mine said that two days before a reunion of all of our colleagues, he had responded cheerfully that he and his wife would be there. We were totally shocked -- at the time we didn't know about the steroids. Who know what else he was taking. Only after his funeral, did it come out that he and his wife had been using them and they believe that it was a major fact in his suicide. I am a big baseball fan but the steroids scandal has disgusted me. Sports Illustrated did a great series a few years back on how cheap and available steroids are in Mexico -- there are cities where you can walk up and down the street and buy them (some that are veterinary grade) like candy.

When I saw the tragic death of Chris Benoit and his family, I remember all his friends being interviewed -- they said he loved his family and didn't believe he could ever harm them. That's what everyone said about my colleague.

I also wonder how use of steroids might factor into a premeditated act like murder.

im sorry for your loss - but that is exactly the kind of thing i was getting at. i was lucky i guess, i just wound up with out a husband...his life is trashed now - he may be 'BIG', but he is nuts now and will be lucky not to wind up with brain cancer or worse...its just not worth it

Artie, glad you're doing all those things to make your wife feel safe.

Just to clarify that STL is one of the top 2 most dangerous places to live - that is a bit misleading due to the City and the County not being merged. Those crime statistics are based on per capita, and they only use City data which skews the figures when you compare us against say Detroit, or New Orleans or Houston. If you take a city our size that does have the City & County merged, we're not all that bad. This has long been a debate here in STL that we're pegged as being so full of crime, when in actuality it's not as bad as it appears on paper.

I feel very safe here, and heck I grew up in New Orleans!

I knoew, I grew up in STL and it never was a danger to me or anyone I knew, I only threw that in there for satire or the act of being saracastic. There is only about 1/10th of the city that is dangerous if you look a certain way or do something a certain way, but everything else is really safe. I am white and have been in the blackest of black areas and have been safe enough asking for directions so its just the bad people that make areas bad.

I would do the same thing if I lived there or anywhere if it happened in my neighborhood.Too bad Chris did not see fit to protect his family with an alarm:waitasec:.Also just wanted to say welcome to WS and thanks for the local info:).

It's that darn North City - the gangs run the area.

I grew up in Northwest St. Louis County but moved to Chester IL in the early 90's.
Now we have a possible triple murderer staying here in Chester with his parents.
If this man is capable of killing his own children he is very capable of killing anyone at this point.
I sure hope the MCS is keeping tight tabs on him while he is here in Chester.

the biggest thing that people have against CC is that he was a security person and his family started their own video survalience(sp) company and both of them were marines, I think. And here, they couldn't protect them against a perp? whatever.

If by some weird quirk of faith he did not do it,he still is responsible for not protecting his family.Cameras are great to record the murders( when the hard drive isnt stolen) :waitasec:but gee whiz maybe an alarm system would have prevented the murders.(99.9 % guilty to me).

IIRC Sheri was an MP at one time in the Air Force.
Yep, that little girl. Bad to the Bone. Nobody should have been messing with her.

Also noted at the bottom of the article it states:
'The Major Case Squad plans to update the media in a news conference at 4:30 p.m. today'.
Thanks for the 'welcome's' today every one. :) I've been a websleuther since Laci Peterson first went missing back in December 2002. This is the best place for information that I've ever found. You are all amazing sleuthers.
