Police cars, detectives staked out at house where Coleman is staying:

http://www.bnd.com/homepage/story/766954.html

'Three unmarked police cars and a sport utility vehicle full of detectives on Wednesday morning were staked out around the house in Chester where Chris Coleman has been staying since his wife and two sons were strangled.
Shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, Chris Coleman and his father, the Rev. Ronald Coleman, left the house at 304 Dixie Drive in Chester and went to the father's church, Grace Church Ministries in Chester.
Most of the police who were parked near the house then followed the Colemans to the church.'

Her ex-husbands name is Peter. I'll refrain from posting the last name until I know it's OK to do so.

Good Morning!

I know the last name but could not find anything.Yet

I have to admit, these cases make me weep.

It's bad enough when it's the wife.
It's bad enough when its the pregnant wife.

But the children?

Why?

:(
fran

I find them all to be so tragic. Whether it is men killing their wives or wives killing their husbands it is senseless tragedies that are happening all around us it seems. I weep for the innocent children who are murdered by their fathers or mothers. I also weep at how easily it seems some young juveniles wipe out their entire families or parents. I weep for all life lost due to the most violent acts perpetrated against them by a human being who had no right to do so.

To this day I cannot find a reasonable answer why anyone would want to become Judge,Jury and Executioner over other human beings and become the taker of life.

I don't think we will ever really understand the WHY. How can anyone apply logic to the most illogical violent act there is?

Maybe for a "coming to Jesus meeting"? Before his arrest?

IMHO, It's the ultimate act of male domination gone awry and it is the barometer of spiritual weather in a society. Men who would rather murder their children than look "bad". Women who would rather murder their children (or stand by and watch the man do it, rather than "lose" him.

Since this case is to irrevocably tied with JMM, and therefore Christianity, reminds me of what Walter Wink (an AWESOME modern theologian) has written in an amazing series of books on "The Powers That Be" that describes the fallen social, political and economic structure of the world as the domination system. To one degree or another, he says this system pervades nearly every human society, whether ancient or modern, dictatorship or democracy, socialist or capitalist.

He says that all share similar underlying characteristics. Power and wealth are concentrated in the hands of an elite minority so that a privileged few benefit at the expense of the many. Cooperative legal and religious institutions condone, legitimize, support and perpetuate the system.

Violence is employed to protect and maintain the status quo.

At the heart of the domination system is a set of shared values—the pursuit of power and wealth; the pursuit of prestige, status, and honor; exclusive and hierarchical social relationships; and male domination over women. He says that most people believe that the domination system is the way things are, have been, and will always be. (and many believe it's the way they should be )

This system, by it's nature makes victims out of women and children - they are "less than" and, therefore, less "worthy". Wink says, and the Gospel says, that Jesus came to tell us that this was not the "truth" and to teach us how to change, or transform, the way we perceive and live with each other.

I think that JM truly believes Jesus’ vision of a community of people whose lives are changed dramatically to a new way of living and relating to one another. That is the teaching that drew me to her. She teaches about personal transformation and social transformation and reinforces the worldview that Jesus taught - that God is loving and compassionate and cares for our welfare. She had a vision to create a world-wide community of people who are loving and compassionate and who care for each other’s welfare. She's done alot of good works.

But this tragedy underlines the nature of the power struggle and now one of it's players has done the unthinkable. I wonder if JMM will cast CC out to avoid bad publicity or remain bound to him in the great friendship she described last week?

Unfortunately, these kinds of attitudes aren't just a part of religious institutions. Sadly they are attitudes that are present in many, if not most, aspects of our society.

Columbia Triple Murder Getting National Attention as Investigation Continues:

http://www.fox2now.com/ktvi-columbia-triple-murder-national-news-051309,0,6165176.story

'Major Case Squad investigator Major Jeff Connor spoke with CNN's Nancy Grace by phone Tuesday evening. "There was some damage to the screen, but the window was found open, the back window leading to the basement," he told Grace. When Grace asked if the window had been forced open, Connor responded, "there's no indication force was used."

They sure aren't there for security are they? Or we'd be seeing uniforms in marked cars. I can't recall a MCS literally sitting on top of a suspect like this.

From Foxterriers link there is a comment asking if CC can be arrested in a church??

IMO they are turning up the heat to the highest degree as they await the arrest warrant.JMO

When I read this article I had immediately had visions of Steven Beckham.

Steven Beckham was also a son of a highly respected and loved Preacher and appeared to be a loving caring husband but Steven secretly had yearned for the darker more titillating side of life and spent his time and money in sleazy strip bars out of town.

He hired one of the bouncers at his favorite strip club to come and help him murder his wife.

So I am beginning to think that this is what CC wanted too and wanted to be free of all family responsibilities. I wonder how often he gave the excuse that he had to travel to Florida?

I had wanted this man to be innocent of these horrid crimes. I wanted him to be in the majority who do not kill their wives and having affairs does not make a killer either or unfortunately men and women would be dropping like flies at an alarming rate daily.

I wanted him to turnout to be like Mark Lunsford, Steve Greone and Dan Horowitz, whom people had thought were the suspects, but in the end weren't. But I cannot deny what I see and imo, he either did this or he hired someone to do this.

I would still love to be wrong. Not only for Sheri, Gavin and Garrett's sake and her family but for all the lives that will be shattered by this tragedy, including CCs family and friends, whom I am sure are going to have a very hard time coming to grips with what the man they "thought" they knew, may have done.

imo

Agree and hope we're both wrong. But if we're right it just goes to further illustrate how self-deluded people can become as they go about planning something like this (malignant narcissism) since in their twisted minds, they're infinitely more clever, have such superior intelligence, to anyone else... it would be laughable if it weren't so tragically familiar and heartbreaking. I mean every one of these spousal cases, the writing's clearly on the wall yet the perp believes themself SO extraordinarily smart that THEY will be the one to ultimately outwit LE. Of course a few actually do, but in an overwhelming majority of cases it is quickly and PAINFULLY obvious who had the motive. The question I so often used to ask in these cases was, How could they chance spending a lifetime in prison if they didn't get away with it? But the question really worth asking is, How could one possibly ever live with oneself even if one did??

I wonder if detectives are working in shifts? They've been closely flanking Chris for at least 48 hours or so. Why not leave that to uniforms? They must want this guy bad IMO.

Looks like they want to make sure he doesn't try to flee and they are waiting for the word. They would not be outside his house following him around if they were thinking it was someone else. Top defense lawyer, now in Chester, things are adding up quickly against him.

Wonder if this comment has any teeth? Anyone local that can confirm the def attorney is there?

I feel bad for his parents, I have a feeling that they are going to support CC in the same way Scott Peterson was supported by his mother. He an absolute disgrace to his church and his family, not to mention the Marines.

I wonder if this case isn't receiving as much national attention because CC and his mistress are x-Marines.

Hiya All,

Sphew, just caught up :) Lovejac, I had gone to bed last night when you were asking where I and SeriouslySearching were. Smooches to you for asking after us.:blowkiss:

Wow -- you have all been really on this. Thanks to our local to Chester people, ChesterGal and our other new person (I'm sorry I lost your name :( Thanks for coming in to help us.

Well...ya know, I think that the fingerprinting thing a few days back was a kinda, "Don't you want to tell us now? Don't you want to confess? Oh and by the way do you know a stripper in Florida by the name of ..." I think that they were hoping he would just confess, would make things cheaper down the road - maybe?

As for the cars surrounding everywhere, I think that is, again, a "Don't you just want to do the right thing and confess buddy? You know we're gonna get you -- don't you want to do at least one honorable thing?"

And...you know...funny thing, as I had figured it out after watching that footage the other day, I said that Chris had a kinda "Aw shucks" kinda walk going on. Then, I mentioned the hand trying to find his left pocket, then giving up... After the fact, I thought, I got it, that was a "Got caught with my hand in the cookie jar" kinda reaction and walk (as if maybe they did happen to mention the girlfriend that day).

So...me thinks they are hoping that he will talk to his attorney and say, "Do you think I should confess or go for this with them just arresting me when they will?"

Good insights and things I'd thought about myself. There could have been a rift long before for some of the reasons you state.

IIRC it was her father who was allegedly in prison yet her father did attend the service in Chester .. note he did not go to Chicago. Can anything be inferred from that?

It didn't make sense to me either for transport of the bodies rather it seemed selfish and unnecessary. Many times burial is held and a memorial, sans body, is held elsewhere.

Many families are at "odds", sadly, for a variety of reasons.

Respectfully bolded by me. You have every right to you opinion but I just felt compelled to comment on your statement, which I bolded above.

A woman and her two children were murdered. Her family found out about it A DAY BEFORE the widow's planned wake. I think it is completely understandable that first these people had to DEAL with the fact that their daughter, sister, cousin, godchild and their grandchildren and nephews were GONE and then try to accept that the widow had already planned a service completely without any of their input and scheduled it for the very next day. Then add to that there was family/friends/etc that would want to pay their respects and that didn't leave a whole lotta time to alert those folks and have them make it to Chris' planned service.

I totally understand why they would want to hold their own service.

Now who were the members that wondered if they were going back to Sheri's mom?!

I was. I really was on the fence initially and transporting the bodies seemed horribly wrong to me. Kinda reminded me of Anna Nichole Smith. With the issues surrounding her side of the family I thought it was possible she was estranged from them. I feel horrible that Sheri and the children are going to have to be exhumed so they can go back to her family.

Wonder if Chris Coleman was disappointed to hear that comment, "there's no indication force was used."

Bet he thought it looked (properly staged ;))...... forced to him!

Just sayin'

Unless they are worried about him skipping town, I think this is a waste of time don't you? I mean, c'mon, if he is guilty there is no way he is going to risk making a stupid move now.

The other way of thinking about this is making their presence known, which could potentially add stress to the situation for CC if he is guilty. I'm sure police have employed this tactic before with some successful results.
