It was reported on NG today that the city of Columbia had a camera trained on the Coleman house in response to the threats received. If that tape shows someone other than CC exit the house Tuesday morning before police arrived, then I am willing to give your scenario some consideration.

I do know the CC family is claiming that 'the real killer™' (has anyone contacted OJ to let him know where they are yet?) was hiding out in the house all night waiting for CC to leave in the morning. So we should see him or her leave shortly after CC went to the Gym. Unless of course this person was enough of a pro to off the family while CC was actually in the house, maybe CC attempted to wake his wife before leaving, but was unable to do so. That could explain why he started calling minutes after leaving the house.

It will be VERY interesting if we hear the city owned camera was unexpectedly not functioning Monday night.

frmchesterguy,

Where did you hear what the Coleman family thinks happened?

Why would you suspect that camera to not be working on that night?

By the way, I think someone posted the actual transcript-I don't think it's a camera installed by the City but rather a camera Coleman installed on the front porch trained at the mailbox hopefully to capture who was putting the reported threats in the box.

And your detailing of strangulation by zip tie was very vivid and eerie. Where did you learn of that?

How could it be where you suggested maybe Chris called back after he left the house because he could not wake Sheri.

What it seemed you were saying is he could not wake her because the person who supposedly "hung" out in the basement all night had already strangled her.

Excuse me .. part of it is the late hour .. but you really have me stumped.

No one else has presented that scenario.

Thanks in advance

Do you think he may have gotten off there to toss stuff into the hospital grounds? FWIW in my experience going down Bussen & Koch there is usually a lot of dump-type trucks, concrete trucks & delivery trucks... it's not quiet at all. And some of the roads are still gravel, so your vehicle gets quite dusty.

I'll take pics that way for you too when I go either tomorrow or Sunday.

Every time I go by there there is not many trucks or cars getting off at Koch Rd on either side. My normal times to pass the area is in the afternoon during the week and also around 6 or 7pm in the evening.

I myself have not been down Koch Rd near the old hospital property for 25 plus years. Used to go as bratty late teenager to hang out and scare and dare my friends.

We also would go by the old cemetery by Lambert Airport (It not there anymore) it was the poor peoples burial place and it had a tunnel that went under the I-70.

STL was my stomping grounds and we every where that was creepy. The was another old mental hospital down on Missouri Bottom Rd and we would get our new friends all worked up with freaky ghost stories before we would head out to these areas.

St. Louis has some great creepy places to explore.

Oh bummer! Hopefully it'll come soon.

You'd think Best Buy would carry them since we bought the camera from them this past fall, but no such luck.

I have really only been on Koch when I have to turn around because I wasn't paying attention and missed the Telegraph exit.

So if he was plotting this and planning to execute it with such finesse as to get away with it and leave Coleman taking the fall, it seems the killer got the best revenge...

I know .. not a scenario anyone is even willing to consider .. giving any weight at all to the threats combined with the message left on the wall and the police stating "this family was targeted" ... "there were threats towards the family"

You made this point before and I asked you how sending threatening letters, stalking a family and then spray painting "I told you this would happen", is framing Chris? Again, it is CHRIS' actions in taking his wife's name off the house, putting the cars in his sole name, having an affair, requiring a court order before giving evidence that could act to exonerate him, and hiring attorneys mere hours after the obliteration of his entire family, that make him look guilty to me and to many, not the threats or anything else that could possibly point to another culprit. But, you failed to respond to my question.

Could one of those warrant be an arrest warrant?Maybe tomorrow they will arrest him.

Hi MM,

I don't think so -- the article was prety specific in that the warrants issued were search warrants. An arrest warrant would mean the perp would be in custody by now (I would hope).

I'm kinda glad they are taking their time on this one -- means no rush to judgement and less possibility of a mistrial/hung jury/not guilty verdict/or appeal down the road :)

There's supposedly a grave marked "vampire" down in Jefferson County. Now that is weird.

During business hours is really the only time I have experience down there and it was always a pain trying to avoid all the trucks and not get your car paint or windows chipped by rocks flying off of them :-)

I'd never done the Koch thing as a kid; or the Lambert cemetary. Missouri Bottom yes ~ the "Bubblehead" story??? Another good one near Koch is The White House. The Jesuit retreat where they performed the exorcist on the kid that the movie was based on. Creeps me out everytime I'm down there - but it's a beautiful place.

Anyway, do you think he may have gotten off there to dump something??? Just curious to see what you're thinking. Anything is possible.

Yikes! That is weird.
*note to self - stay out of Jefferson County at night and beware of bats*

I fail to see that too, but that's just me. I'd love to have an answer as to how that frames him because from where I stand it seems someone is trying to set up a crime scene to create diversion. He just didn't bank on MCS seeing right through it.

Hi Gita,

You have some great points here. My biggest problem is the timeline.

1 - the victims will have had to be killed after CC left for the gym. There should be no problem determining the TOD. If forensics come back and say they were killed before 5:45 (or when Chris was home) that's going to bring it home for me. But my Lord, where do we begin if the TOD is determined to be while CC was at the gym???

2. I'd like to know where the attorney's came from. My gut tells me the ministry had many at hand (but criminal??) and they may have been contacted by the ministry immeditately (we just don't know yet).

3. Is there evidence he purchased items at Target (such as spraypaint, shoestrings). Again, that would be a big hit for me. I hope LE is hitting up all the local stores. Then again, he could have purchased items on his various trips -- with cash. LE wouldn't know that unless a store came forward.

I can get over the house and the cars -- there has to be a reason SC signed them over in front of a notary? I'm sure this will come up sometime in the investigation with the notary as a witness. This could be benign to the case -- not sure.

He sure isn't acting like Marc Klass, Walsh, or Mark Lunsford. Instead, he is acting like Mark Hacking, Scott Peterson, and even Drew Peterson. I wish that wasn't the case. Both extended families deserve so much more than that.

Again - so many unknowns.....

All the Best,

Mel

Didn't they originally visit the Lutheran Seminary? I heard that somewhere.

*snipped* IMO JMM had nothing to do with hiring Artie & Co., but if she did we'll know soon if they dropout. They are simply the go-to guys for guilty criminals. Very, very well known in the area. Or I wonder if when this hit the news they sought CC out? Probably not, just throwing that idea out there.

They were somewhere with him first, but I don't believe that was it. I thought it was the Alexian Brothers hospital because at first they thought he was ill. They kept him locked somewhere in there, and brought him out to the Jesuits at the White House when medical treatment failed. Apparently he even tried to jump off the cliffs into the river while there.

Every once in awhile they run a thing on TLC or Discovery about it & each time it creeps me out.

Sorry for the OT everyone :-)

Margulis could have offered his services pro-bono. Some attorneys do this in high profile cases.

It's been reported Coleman was questioned sometime the day of the discovery of the bodies. Depending on the way the questioning took, could be a reason why he hired an attorney.

Keep in mind he was probably being advised by Joyce Meyer and husband, Dave .. reported to have been long-term friends of Meyer (and it was reported on NG tonite that Coleman was security for the family compound at night, not the ministry headquarters... they are two separte location) and his father might have felt it prudent to advise the son to hire counsel.

I'd hire counsel even though I'd not committed a crime in this day and age if police were questioning me ... it's the prudent thing to do, no matter how it looks to the outside.

Hi Stella,

Thank you for the info.. Does anyone know when the attorney's were hired? I heard hours later, but OMGosh, if it were my family, and I was really the victim in all of this, the last thing I'd think of is lawyering up. I thought he was too busy packing (or was that days later).

I guess a quick google search could be pretty quick in picking an attorney.

If I could ever be a fly on a wall, it would be this time!

Thanks again,

Mel

I've never heard of Artie & Son doing Pro-Bono, but I'll ask someone who would know for certain. Can't recall if you're from here or not, but research them and find out what kind of people they have represented. I wonder if he lawyered up before answering any questions; or after the initial interview. IMO that would be very telling if he did before answering any questions.

Who knows if JMM advised him or not, but my guess would be they'd keep far away from it with their background of being investigated. jmo

If I was innocent, I'd certainly be willing to talk to LE without lawyering up. However if the direction of the investigation looked at me and only me, of course I'd lawyer up eventually. The truth will come out in the end, then we'll know. Until then no need to continue beating the lawyer-up horse.

The time has never been confirmed as to when he hired them. And I totally agree with the last thing needed would be a Criminal Defense atty immediately if you're innocent.

The packing was days later - monday? of this week... tuesday maybe? whenever they released the house they were in there immediately.

As for how to pick, Margulis is one of the best known. Scott Rosenblum another. I would have been shocked if he wouldn't have picked one of these two.

Okay, I'm finally sleepy - so good night to all!

How would past investigations into JMM relate now? Coleman was more than an employee. Meyer called him a friend.

Friends help friends in hour of need.

Perhaps Meyer's husband and the legal counsel that is either on staff or on retainer advised Meyer it would be prudent for her friend to retain counsel.
