Is that Myers person that is managing editor any relation?
Hahahahaha~ Well...that would be interesting! Joyce Meyer doesn't appear to be related to her, imo. (She seems to have her hand in everything else around there tho!)

Ok folks...back on topic, pretty please.

Diff spellings, my bad.

Didn't know it started coming out on Tuesday. If that's the case then that explains the whole thing. Chris, from what I understand at least...don't know the exact time, was arrested after the paper was probably already out and certainly after the monday at closing time (5PM) deadline.

My take on the case.....hmmmm...

Well as I said (in an edit, you may not have seen it) I'm not convinced Chris is guilty, but my reasoning is, for the most part, just a feeling...from knowing him (somewhat knowing him).

SOOOO...I'm afraid I may be to close to it to see past my heart and my feelings and let my mind see whats seems to be OVERLY clear to most everyone else on here.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's fine...but opinions vary.

Off Topic (one more time): I promise I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at the thought of Joyce Meyer's family possibly managing the newspaper and thinking how she may control the media around there. LOL She is a pretty powerful woman I am finding out!

Hello Mgardner,

Just curious if anyone got anything out of the sermon. I'm not looking at listening to what I call "nonsense", but would be curious as to others opinion. Are we looking at another "Cindy and George". I'm sorry, but I can't listen to a sermon if they are going to defend the actions of suspected murderer CC.

Listening to the sermon was a big awakening for me -- you did not hear anything at all to the affect of defending the actions of a suspected murderer, au contraire.

Joyce does not have a monopoly. This is probably the only piece she is missing.

Since you won't let this die... It does not arrive in my mailbox until Thursday and I am a long time subscriber.
I don't buy it off the shelf. I have never ever seen it out on Tuesday nor Wednesday or Wednesday night (and only because I not out at 10pm on any night of the week.)

For the people who don't know this paper is mailed out to all who subscribe and it is not thrown into yards on a weekly basis.

The point I was trying to make is CC was arrested on Monday night - it should have made the local Chester paper (Randolph County Herald Tribune) even if it is printed on Tuesday night or Wednesday. You also claimed that the Randolph County Herald Tribune was NOT Chester's local newspaper and you should know it is as the paper has been around for about 100 years under the same name. (How you didn't know this is questionable when claim to know so much more.)

I respect your post and yes that is the way it use to be,but now it is out later in the evening on Tues. nite and the subscribers get it on Wednesday.I picked up my paper last Wed. morning at the grocery store and it was dated Wednesday 20,2009. I heard someone ask the clerk why is the paper already out and her reply was "oh they started that awhile back it comes out on Tues. nite now". So guess the only way I can confirm that is go buy a newspaper late Tues. or early Wed. morning.

That is what I was trying to get across in here when it was mentioned that the paper wasn't doing their job. When that arrest took place that paper was already printed.I was scrutinized for that post and all I can say is that the paper shouldn't be condemned for something out of their control. You got an old flyer on here that does not chime with the change of paper being put out now, but the number is good so they can call them and verify it.

I know what it's like to come from a small town...not easy when sh$t happens. Hopefully the truth will come out...but, whatever the outcome, it'll affect many for a long time. Hang in there!

Thanks for the reply. We welcome other opinions and the chance to gain some insight into the family. We can agree to disagree on some points.

I guess I don't have to warn you that some of us here (me) are very adamant about our feelings on this case. I do believe he is guilty and my gut feeling started the minute I read about his actions right before and after finding the bodies. Since then there has been more and more evidence coming out which secured the arrest.

What???

Maybe I had the wrong information...I thought he was arrested Tuesday night.

  • #334
Can you guys just get back to the case? Please?

:) yea, I noticed.

It's good to be convicted to your opinion, even if it's different from mine (or anyone elses).

As I said, opinions vary. That's why they're called opinions ;)

On 3, time for a group hug. 1 2 3.

Doesn't that feel better?

You really are from Chester. The Herald Tribune is on the stands about 10 pm Wednesday evening. The deadline is noon Wednesday.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Plenty of time to put even a small tidbit in the Chester paper about CC's arrest that happened on Monday night.

Why was it not there? Cause if it would have been anyone else in this town it would have been on the front page along with the perp's mugshot.

Anyone from this town native or not cannot deny this!

Regardless of when the news was released, it does seem that the arrest came as a surprise- even though it was rumored to happen exactly when it did. IMO there needs to be a little wiggle room in journalism, especially if you want to catch a big news story. But, this is not NYC we're talking about (always amazes me how they DO get those late stories out for morning reading). Now, if there were no news then I'd be suspicious of their motives.

Now what will be really interesting, is if this is not mentioned in Next weeks paper....
