:) yea, I noticed.

It's good to be convicted to your opinion, even if it's different from mine (or anyone elses).

As I said, opinions vary. That's why they're called opinions ;)
LOL I knew since you read all 6500 posts you may have caught that tid bit. ;)

Can you clear up the deal with Brad killing the deer with his bare hands? Are you aware of the video showing him strangling it to death? Since you know him maybe you can help us understand that one.

Anyone from this town native or not cannot deny this!

I.......................oh nevermind :)

I'm not gonna go over the deadline thing again. I don't think it's as late as Wednesday at noon if the papers hit the shelves on Wednesday at 10PM(although this has been changed to Tuesday now, apparently), but maybe it is.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Plenty of time to put even a small tidbit in the Chester paper about CC's arrest that happened on Monday night.

Why was it not there? Cause if it would have been anyone else in this town it would have been on the front page along with the perp's mugshot.

Anyone from this town native or not cannot deny this!

When Mike Korando was arrested just after running for Sheriff the local paper had special editions coming out.

Just depends on who you are.

Now, that's what I was wondering.

I have been away from Chester too long, or maybe not long enough. Depends on how you look at it.
Looks to me like the whole schedule has all been moved up a day.

What???

Maybe I had the wrong information...I thought he was arrested Tuesday night.

Yes your right (I was wrong) it was last Tuesday between 9:30 and 10:00pm.

Still it could have been in the local newspaper since the deadline is 12noon or in the afternoon on Wednesday.

It does not take long for this little paper to be printed and bundled. That might be why it's on shelf at Motomart on Wednesday night after 10pm.

Subscribers do not get in the mail until Thursday.

Why do you think then it's been mentioned that the defense will ask for a change of venue? Just a rumor?

I didn't see the video, and I honestly don't know if he was/is a hunter. Then again we're talking about Brad with the deer (apparently), not Chris.

If it was Brad (I assume you all know what you're talking about...so I'll say it is for this comment)...so:

The person killing the deer (or finishing off?? a deer...whatever you'd call it..dunno) is Brad (according to info here) and this case is about Chris.

Forgive me if I can't get myself to assume Chris is capable of killing a HUMAN (or 3) because Brad killed a deer.

I know the defense will ask for a change of venue. I know they won't bring it here to Chester (Randolph County) and they will move it out of Columbia
(Monroe County) cause it's so close to the bigger media in St. Louis.

Springfield IL might still be too close for a trial there, even.

I think that's a very good idea.

The reason we were discussing it is because the person filming it was laughing the whole time and it was rather disturbing. If this was a family thing and not considered out of the norm...then yes, I would think it could pertain to the case. However, if you haven't seen the video...then it doesn't make much sense to discuss it further.

Yes, Is there a history of animal cruelty for Chris as well? I've come to think that Sheri was a bit prophetic with that video. Strange, that there was only the one on her utube chennel.

BTW - I did see the video, I came across on a google search of her myspace name. And I can tell you, it wasn't just hunters hunting, it was just wrong on so many levels.

Greetings Jproffer and welcome to WS!

Reasonable statement, and I would guess you saw that it was the person filming it mentioned...although I don't know who that was yet.

How about this... I can get that you may be struggling with thinking Chris could do this -- have you seen the timeline that he was away (5:43 - 6:51, one hour and 8 minutes) and that the TOD supports his having been there (according to the time he said he left the house)?

Also, knowing Chris, did you go to the viewing or the funeral? Just curious what your senses felt there.

Finally... What do you think happened in that 1 hour and 8 minutes. Additionally, do you have any particular feelings why Chris wasn't begging people to find the murderers of his wife and children? Or why his family did not offer a reward?

Yikes Adnoid or JBean,

Are you lurking?

Everytime I click the "thanks" button, the whole thank you thing goes away instead of my thanks being added (as typical).

Did someone toy with the thank you button lately?

While I know a ton of hunters, I have never been around to witness such a thing. I do know I would not have been laughing and video taping it to view repeatedly.

I am still trying to figure out why it was on U-tube under her name, too. You do make an interesting point that she could have put it up there because it was so disturbing to her. If Chris or Brad put it up...why not just use their own accounts? Why would they use her account? (Harder to find for other people until your brother kills his whole family?)

A note...

Online headline news

Article: "Triple homicide in Columbia family has local ties"

The above article has not changed online. I looked and their "More top stories" link - articles came from April 30th, as far as I could see. It seems that they might not keep that page updated very often. Other news stories I could find appeared to come from a news service, maybe their website puts these in automatically. Basically their online site doesn't seem to get too much attention -- perhaps it is not in their budget.

It will be interesting to find out if their next website headline will be a follow up article stating "Arrest of Chris Coleman In Deaths Of Wife, Two Children."

Sorry, I have to respectfully disagree. As I stated before, my brother and his son live in Alaska and hunt (during hunting season) for mook, elk, salmon. They hunt for FOOD not for thrill. My husband has been out there with em, and has filmed them. One time, my bro had to cut the neck of an elk, because the bullets were of no use. Many hunters (if there are any on this MB) know the hand to hand combat is what the kill is. A bullet is a mere way to bring the animal down. Sometimes they use bow n' arrows like they did in the good ol' days.

So what may be disturbing to all us city folk, there's another reality out there. I''ve always loved the fact that real men go out in the wilderness and hunt for their food. Compared to the idiots that put their prey in cages, feed them with filler -- until they are about to explode, then shoot them in the head. I've had both, and would most definitely want the meat that came from nature, and not from some man-made kill zone.

If anyone has seen the dance - you'll know what i'm talking about.

Best,

Melanie
