First off, I did not watch the video. That said, "strangling" an animal seems to be a very natural way of finishing an animal off - see big cat shows on tv - they all put a strangle hold on their prey. I'm not sure what this means in terms of humans doing the same, maybe the meaning is in the mind of the beholder?

My opinion only

I agree that his video has been highly trumped.

One last thing I want to say about that deer video.

If you kill one, you need to 'bleed it out' right away, or the blood will coagulate in the meat, rendering it useless.

Either they had a knife on them and bled it out properly afterward, which entails choking to death an already injured, scared, defensless, cornered animal, which indicates some undesirable traits.

Or else they had no knife on them, never had the intention of bleeding it out and using the meat showing this to be a thrill kill, for no other reason then to tape it and enjoy the show at a later time.

Neither of these promotes a very warm feeling towards this individual(s) for me, that much I know.

ETA: When hunting, it is the goal of the hunter to do the kill shot, meaning kill the animal on the first shot, not to injure it and cause it to lay suffering until the hunter finds it and can choke it to death. Sorry, that's just not hunting. That's beyond sportsmanship.

Another comment I have about the video is that I think the "owner" of the account removed the video themselves. It was very soon after it was mentioned here that it disappeared. I immediately felt someone from the Coleman camp was reading the thread. MOO

I reported a few days ago that I knew this thread was being read by CC's family.... I agree they removed it. IMO they realized how some of the general public was viewing it. Again, IMO, I think WS helps the prosecution team, and newspaper reporters, but also the defense team!!! Ya gotta admit, there is a wealth of info here.

WS accepts all thanks to whomever is offering :)

This is a HUGE compliment to the members of WS! It shows that *we* look at ALL angles and do our best to prevent ourselves from having "witch hunts"!

:woohoo:

IIRC, it showed up on the Post Dispatch site several days after being posted here (and I called the MCS with the link/info the day it was posted here) and a few hours/next day? after being on PD site, the video was removed.

ETA - and no, I couldn't stay away the whole weekend as planned! LOL

Sorry, I was out last night and I'm just checking in now. It's working fine for me, are you still having trouble? If so, does this work for you:

I'm a little hung over as well

Both use javascript so that the whole page does not have to be redrawn, so if they are not working you may need to restart Java (or your computer, which may be easier).
It does this to me sometimes, too. Usually when I refresh, it shows up.

(Hands Ad a Bloody Mary and a couple of very spicy BBQ ribs as the best cure for a hangover)

I found this article quite interesting, this is a very small part of it...

Despite the differences among these scenarios, there is a common profile of men who have killed their wives and children. Most are white males in their 30s or 40s who react badly to stress and who view their families as extensions of themselves. They typically use a firearm or knife that they have owned for some time. Often they're depressed or intoxicated. Invariably they're described as controlling and quite dependent on their families being what they envision, and believing that they are the only ones who can fulfill the family's needs.

Ewing offers a list of motives for familicide, as does Dr. Herbert Stream in Our Wish to Kill and Christine Jackman in "When Dads Get Deadly." Jointly, they cover the following reasons why men kill their families:

•Losing control over the family circumstances/panic over powerlessness
•Seeing only adverse circumstances ahead in life/desperation/frustration
•Feeling overwhelmed and unable to let the family live while he dies
•Seeing the deaths as a necessary sacrifice
•Believing the children cannot survive without him
•Revenge against an estranged wife, or teaching her a lesson
•Grief over losing the family in a divorce
•Discipline gone too far
•Possessiveness/entitlement/ownership
•Psychosis
•Self-enrichment
•Projecting their self-hatred onto the children
•Killing witnesses to abuse
•A joint crime with the mother—erasing the family
•Compassion
•Duty to the family
•Suicide by proxy
•Jealousy of children who are getting involved with others
•Difficulty adjusting to being a parent
•A long tradition of abuse in the family that just continues
•The idea that children must serve the parent's needs

This came from a study "Fathers who kill & why they do it". I thought the bullet list would give us a good starting point to try to figure out the motive and why CC did what he did.

(bbm, brought over from Part 5) I found article interesting and useful. Since IMO we can fairly safely rule out psychosis, joint crime w mother, suicide and/or compassion/altruism, I'd say all the rest just about covers it.

Yea...we realized that many posts back. LOL

Excuse me, but I was reading along and answered the first time I saw the question. I realize it was answered a little while later - I saw that when I got to those posts.

No need to make an issue of someone answering when they had no idea it was answered. Potshots aren't necessary.

Not 100% positive, but I think sibs of RC....... and a slight chance RC himself. Don't quote me - I wouldn't swear to it. Just things I've picked up on this board and in outside conversations.

I have to get out of here and get some stuff done - before I spend more money! :blushing:

Maybe I missed this, but does the Chester newspaper have an on-line edition? Sometimes small towns converge together to absorb the costs of on-line editions. Our city is not small but we have a newspaper - when something scandalous occurs ( happened recently involving some high city officials) the best news and comments came from the on-line edition. Seemed few folks would put their names in letters to the editors or bylines. Good honest information instead of two-faced versions.

You are probably not alone in that respect. I used to know a couple of people who would do Ebay auctions constantly while here. :) It is therapy in a sense.

If I shopped the entire time I was on WS, I would want for nothing now and be in the poor house! LOL

Address the post..not the poster please. It was a simple statement. There's no need to explain...peace.

ETA: for anyone who is new...you can always delete a post if you think it's no longer relevant. Just an FYI that I found particularly helpful when I started reading many moons ago.

I don't shop the entire time I am on here (uh, in that case I might be a thread, JK), but, I do it. Read a while, shop a while. But, I almost always hae several windows open and if not shopping, I am doing something else. It keeps me sane sometimes when you consider the horrors we discuss here.
