The only thing I can think of that might be a question in my mind as a juror would be if there was no evidence on his body. Was there a dab of spray paint in his hair? Or did he wear a shower cap? What about scratches on his hands? I know he hit a gurney, though. That's about all I can think of and I really thought HARD AND LONG before answering this question. I can't think of anything viable, actually!!!

The fact that he changed his story about the abrasion on his arm and then started hitting the gurney should be enough to negate that.

No, you didn't fail. I tried thinking of alternatives before too, but in light of the new evidence releases, they just don't seem plausible.

Well, not having dated chicks, me being a chick myself, if I were a guy, I wouldn't think that I was necessarily taking out an expensive date if dating a poker dealer, hostess in a game room. Women who do this "may" be looking for their sugar daddy OR they may just be trying to support themselves and a flock of kids on good tips (honest working women, doing what they feel they must to stay off the welfare role). But...this is kinda moot, CC knew MM's history...she was a friend of Sheri's. Certainly he had been around her and knew she wasn't "queenie the expensive date."

I would have to guess that Chris just didn't want be seen as a cheap dater, as he liked what he was getting from MM and he wanted to keep it rolling. My guess is that MM didn't invite herself to flights to Arizona, Hawaii etc. (she was noted as meeting him regularly in his travels), my guess is that "sugar daddy" wanted to look good -- thus the trips and the cruise and his massaging of his lust needs.

Letting JMM know about the letters would give reason his wife has moved out. He would be the caring husband that moved his wife and kids out of harm’s way. As for the paint, he had a receipt that was nearly a year old, if I remember correctly. I believe it was stated before that the paint was used to spray a target on the hay bales for archery. JMO

Telling JM, LE and the next door neighbor does underscore how real CC would have pretended the threats to be, but as you said, in moving the family he would have been the "caring husband". By telling those people he is also setting up the scene so he could have someone to point the finger at once he had killed SC and the kids. If the letters were meant just to scare SC that set up would not have been necessary.

And I think that the same applies to telling LE about the letters. They were probably the ones that CC aiming his "look there is a madman that is coming to get us" message at.

And your right, I just checked my notes and he did purchase the paint on July 29th.

ITA that CC was attempting to present himself as a "bigshot" to TL. And knowing what we do know about her and her background, she most likely implied that was what she needed to stick around. That being said, it would seem that CC was thinking with the wrong, uh,....body part. Lust is a powerful thing and can make people do the craziest things. Though I'm willing to believe this was not - necessarily - the only thing that drove him to murder his family. JMOHO....

And he did hit the gurney after the wound was pointed out to him, and then said that he was wounded by the gurney. IIRC, his father was present for that.

As I'm looking over some of the notes that I took from the search warrant I'm seeing that a notebook of Sheri's was collected. Wasn't there some speculation that it was a journal? I'd really like to know what was in that notebook, especially if it was a journal.

TL has no kids to support and possibly didn't want any. A woman like TL goes after the "high roller, big shot" types. It takes a certain level of financial commitment to keep her happy. I would bet that she was always after the next vacation to wherever JM was performing. She may have paid for it herself in the beginning but soon expected CC to pick up the tab. Not to mention the physical distance between them she would not be a cheap date by any means. Dinner, a movie and a walk in the park is not her style. Women in her line of work usually do it for one reason, actually two reasons ... no, make it three. Big money, little work and you don't have to get your lazy butt out of bed early in the morning.

No, I wouldn't think so, but who knows. I don't really know him, just met him a few times, but he didn't appear to be a drug user. He just seemed like a normal, nice guy. SC would have known if he was on meth I think. I lived next to a couple in my college apartment who used meth; they always looked awful. They always had a weird chemical smell to them also. I don't know much about those type of drugs, I smoked or baked brownies with marijuana in high school and college in my Phish-head days and tried mushrooms a few times, but nothing outside of those.

When CC was growing up does anyone know what the general attitude towards mental illness/mental health car was in the ministry?
What are those attitudes today?

For example, are people with mental health issues shamed for their illness or for seeking medical help?
