Sheriff Toombs says it could be a day up to two weeks to examine devices

Actually the maroon van was giving to Billie by a stranger that lives near by among other things that she has been giving. The Somer Thompson foundation donated funds to cover her bills etc for a month.

It was reported that she sold it to her Mom for $300.00.

Finally, a time table! I was wondering about that...and God bless the LE that are having to analyze all of that 🤬🤬🤬🤬. I feel so sorry for them.

And how close do SA and BD live to the Mexican Border? I've forgotten where in Texas they are, LOL. I would seriously think if they're ever going to run, it's going to be to Mexico and they'd probably fit in pretty well there...

Jumping the gun there...he didn't say there was anything on those devices, just that they are looking at them.

I'm not jumping the gun. If we're talking about the flash drives he carried on him, it's already been said that they had 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on them. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 was also taken with cameras, and was found on every electronic device he touched. Unless we're talking about something totally different now? What device have they found that doesn't have 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on it?

ETA: Okay, it does say more devices were found at Adkins grandmother's home. I highly doubt, if SA touched them, that they don't have 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on them, but I can see where someone might think I jumped the gun since these are, I'm guessing, new devices found? Lord, there are too many electronic devices in this case! But I do remember LE saying that everything SA touched had 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on it. I do respect getting confirmation first on these new devices, though.

So let me ask this: if LE had previously confiscated devices with 🤬🤬🤬🤬 - especially bestiality and CP - don't you think most people would delete any other images on other devices? I'm afraid he may have done that.

I do know that deleting them is not enough. You actually have to reformat and 'wipe it clean'. Otherwise, they're still there - the space is just freed up to be written over by something else.

Just trying to figure out how you can catch someone TWICE with the same illegal stuff? Maybe I'm giving him too much credit...

People don't usually carry around empty flashdrives. The only thing you can do with them is store files on them. Why would he have five of them if they were empty - that makes no sense to me. :waitasec:

I don't understand why folks keep thinking BD or SA will "run". Where would they run to? What car? One would need a dependable car to run somewhere. They don't have one between the 2 of them. They would need moneycash and lots of it as jobs without identification are hard to come by. By all accounts BD is a drug user and she would have to have her drugs and SA is on some kind of prescription meds...where would they get this filled? Run south to the border? One has to have connections in Mexico to be a fugitive, not to mention the fact Mexico does have an extradition treaty with the United States since 1980. BD and SA would not blend in that well in Mexico.
It takes a lot of money to be a fugitive....jus sayin'.

Um, avoiding prison is a great motivation, and they certainly wouldn't be the first people to try and make a run for the border ~ Scott Peterson did the exact same thing after Laci's body washed ashore. He was packed up for camping and had $10,000 in the trunk of his purple pimp-mobile bought for him by his mother. Plus he had grown a beard to try and disguise himself.

Desperate people do desperate things.

One of my theories is that the person they went to see the other day might have had a car for sale. That's just conjecture, but it would not surprise me in the slightest.

"According to the Snyder Daily News, an entry on the blotter at the Scurry County Law Enforcement Center Sunday afternoon stated a woman called and asked to speak to an officer on the telephone in reference to both Dunn and Adkins being together at the caller’s residence looking for someone."

There is no way to complete wipe any electronic device... Nothing out there will completely clean it.

But,

Smashing it into a million pieces and then burning it to ashes, then dropping it into the middle of the ocean would be about the only way no one would be able to retrieve the data on it.

With a small flashdrive, probably one good smack with a hammer would do it.

I hope he didn't destroy evidence though.

Even if he wiped the computers clean or did a reformat, there would be traces left and if the FBI is still helping with this case, they'll certainly be able to find what was cleaned.
There is a chance he could have replaced a hard drive, but I don't know that Shawn would be that smart.

Actually I Ran mine over with My SUV (don't ask LOL)

and My It tech was still able to get all the data off of it.

Also when you load it from your computer your computer makes a file of everything that is put on it.

I guess my main point is: I don't understand how you could get caught for the same thing TWICE? He knows LE is watching him, he knows LE has found the 🤬🤬🤬🤬/CP, he knows LE could search again. So why would he carry it around or have it on any device they could search, kwim?

Again, maybe I'm giving him too much credit.

That's amazing! :)

Good points, but Scott P had 10 big ones with him and did not have a drug problem. No, they would not be the first to run for the border but the border towns are just not like they used to be, not even a year ago. There is mayhem and chaos in the streets over there. These two, BD and SA may fancy themselves street smart but I assure you, they don't have the smarts to be fugitives in Mexico. Desperate times call for desperate measures is true but if caught in Mexico, and they will be caught over there. If that is where they choose to go, going to the Big House in Mexico will not be a vacation. Mexican jails are houses of horrors of a magnitude we can not begin to comprehend.
Okay, on second thought, someone get BD and SA a map!
