to everyone that recommended the documentary "Murder on a Sunday Morning" thank you sooo much!

i watched it this morning with tears in my eyes. what wonderful defense attorneys. i also enjoyed seeing Ann Finnell. I know she was a member of the CA team, but she is a really good attorney and very respectful. I hope everyone watches it, I found it on youtube!

The rafters are still quivering. Just climbed down from the roof where my cries of rage and anguish split the air. I'm convinced the defense refusal to appear, July 18 is, as I said, a tactic. "The autumn leaves drift by my window.....", yes, J.W., drag this out until the ignition dies and the opposition slopes off into a dim future, heads slumped in despair. We are talking about the crucial tag end of a prolonged case in chief and it is way past time to wrap this up. The destructive value in her move reminds me of a suspense serial published monthly, until the final episode is withheld with an invitation to re-subscribe next year if you'd like to see how the crime is solved.

No, yours is a beauty! Mine is cute! :floorlaugh:

I didn't know they still sold the radar detectors... I would think your music would be too loud for it to be very helpful S. :seeya:

I've somehow managed to live with the belief that there are more of us than them...and when I have been pulled over I know I really deserve it! My last ticket was in WA, I was slowly following an old farmer around a lake. When I finally had a passing lane I sped up to pass, and wouldn't you know the old man sped up too! We passed the sheriff going 70... I didn't even wait for the lights to go on, I just gave myself up and pulled over!:floorlaugh:

Do you have your Minicooper yet?!

Exciting!

Next year?! Can they postpone that long?

There were a few talking heads saying that they did not see this happening this year. Some said 2014 and one said as far out as 2015. We unfortunately know that the DF is going to stall as long as they possibly can. Maybe they are hoping people will forget about JA. Maybe some will but when this does start up again JM will get them back to speed pretty darn quick. IMO

My supposition is that there is a strategy behind this "inability" to appear and that there will be other obstacles such as "We can't produce Witness X until the second week in September" and "There is data coming in from our expert but it isn't fully analyzed yet" & "We are waiting on a deposition from a California witness" and so forth. All of this by way of inducing the prosecution and the county attorney to consider a sentence of natural life for the convicted killer who murdered in a cruel manner that caused mental anguish & physical pain, the victim being conscious during the commission wherein she was aware her victim would suffer.

Well JSS and the DA need to get this nonsense quashed quickly. They are trying to do everything to get the judge to do LWOP without them. Absolutely disgusting. They are long overdue to be reigned in.

Has this strategy been successfully applied in any other cases that you know of? I'm really curious to read about this.

My brother went to Thailand to have a comprehensive physical, he had several polyps removed after his colonoscopy, one very early bladder cancer removal that was seen on a CT scan that would have never been done here in the US (since he had no symptoms), a bunch of dental work and more, and he spent less than $3k. I have a $3k deductible on my health insurance, and no plan is going to pay for CT scans or MRIs as preventative screenings for me.
The medical care in the US is SHAMEFUL. The only people who do better using the health care in the US are a lucky few, the insurance industry has made most of the advances in medicine little or no use to the majority of Americans. Sure, get cancer and then they will approve a procedure, but preventative health in this country is still in the dark ages.
The dichotomy between the rich and the poor when it comes to health care here is heartbreaking. This is considered one of the richest countries in the world, and yet we have poor who die because of a lack of consistent medical care. We rank near the bottom in medical care quality for all the developed countries, and yet we hear it all the time that our system is better than everyone's. it just is not true - yes, for some, it is, but for the majority if the middle class it is not, and for the poor, they would be better living in many other countries.

ITA. And, yes, if you need surgery or excellent medical care- got to Thailand! :rocker:

They do a lot of successful gender reassignment surgery there as well.

Hope everyone's having a good afternoon. Thought I'd scroll through this for fun. Did not include all that would apply to me!
