I feel your pain. About 5 weeks ago I got bit by a yellow jacket. I had two reactions. ! about 36 hours after being stung and I realized the stinger was still in. Pulled it out and in the morning a portion of my hand was red, hot, swollen and very itchy. Took benadryl for about 5 days. Swelling went down by Wednesday. On that same Friday the hand was itchy again, so I scratched. Hand started to swell immediately. Went to ER and 400 dollars later. Eh!
2 Sundays ago, at picnic at moms. I feel a burning sensation on my calf. Don't know what the heck bit me, stung me???? Iced it, put baking soda paste on it and benadryl again. Following day red, hot, swollen and itchy. No scratching for me. Back to doctors. I have never reacted to bites like this before. It truly sucks and now I go inside when I see a biting, stinging creature.
Daughter so one of those cicada eating wasps on her deck today. First she told me it was a Giant Japanese wasp. They can kill and melt flesh. Then she realized it was not the Giant wasp but the cicada killer. I swear if it was the Giant wasp I would avoid her home until Fall.
Hope yours heals up fast.

Here is a tested and proven remedy for bee stings. Get a cigarette from someone and put some tobacco in your hand. Moisten it with anything handy, water, spit, etc., and make a paste. Put the paste on the bite and the sting goes away very quickly. Remove stinger first.

Hey y'all! Good Sunday evening to you. Hope everybody had a nice weekend.

Well, I wouldn't have to far to get a cig b/c I smoke. What makes that work, I wonder? I saw this the other day and was thinking about getting one.

In support of the jurors who determine whether a murder is especially cruel, not only are they equipped by human nature and life experience to grasp the meaning of the term, it is a finding of fact to make this determination. Just as jurors weigh whether force used against an assault is commensurate & necessary, they are able to weigh whether the manner & means of murdering a human being is especially cruel. Yes, value judgment is involved but so is it in deciding whether vermillion is actually red. Once they determine the murder was cruel or "especially cruel", the law (& the judge) then finds the death penalty applies. Our jurors did not exceed their understanding in finding this aggravator.

Wouldn't tweezers work? Are you allergic to bee stings? You had some reaction! Goodness. :seeya:

I don't know if I am allergic or just had a large local reactions. I did not have trouble breathing or anything bad like that but I was scared none the less with the reaction I did have. The ER Doc didn't seem so worried. He did not suggest an Eppi pen or anything like that. I carry benadryl with me at all times and I hope I don't get bit again. In my life I think I was bit by bees maybe 3 or 4 times.
The Sawyer extractor forms a suction on your skin and is suppose to suck out the venom. I saw it on TV the other afternoon and looked it up. Found it on Amazon and it had a lot of good reviews.

PrincessSezMe, it seems part of the defense design is to shunt this case, this train, onto a siding. The oral argument must ! have been in Nurmi's mind when he wrote the motion attacking cruel as an aggravator. Writing out the motion is actually more demanding of thought than talking about it. I would guess he is searching for precedents. All he has found to June date are instances where other lawyers objected to "cruel" & "especially cruel". As I said back in June, the motion is passing strange considering how often juries have considered the term "cruel" since it was written into our 8th Amendment in 1791. We all have an innate understanding of cruel, which does not imply that understanding is unlawful or not legal. Because the judge directed jurors to hew to that exactly does not equate to exceeding her function & straying into legislating, which is what Nurmi wrote.

Thank you Tuba. I agree, their argument is weak IMO. If this crime doesn't pass for "especially cruel", I don't know what would.

OMG
My crockpot just broke :scared:
The ceramic thingy's bottom separated from the pot and there was soup all over the counter. What a mess :scared: It was about 15 years old. I don't know what I did wrong. :banghead:
I'll have to check Walmart tomorrow for a new one. Their website has so many- I hate when there's so many different choices. It's too much confusion for me. :scared: :scared:

I was going to make my brisket in the slow cooker today (which I saved up my Airmiles to get). My DH informs me that the last time he put it away it got dropped, and broke the handle for the lid off. :stormingmad: I only used it about four times before it got broke.

Does yours have a ceramic liner? Sounds to me like it cracked somehow.

ETA: BBM - never mind.

Daisy, are you here?
How are you feeling?
I lite some candles today for you- to be well, and Zuri and her brother- for peace of mind, and M- for confidence in herself and her life (you make your own happiness).

I'm speechless, thank you so much. Reading this brought tears to my eyes.

I just got off the phone with dude (we'll just call him that), so I'm feeling really emotional right now.

Love and positive thoughts to all of you going through a rough time.

Your prayers are helping. Thank you....

Hi Zuri :seeya:. How is your visit with your mom? Is she spoiling you?

I am enjoying seeing my mother and sister. It is very peaceful here, almost serene. My mother's house is lovely, with a beautiful patio garden. I had not seen this home as she moved here 4 years ago. My sister is diminished capacity and has some health issues. I guess I trust my eyes to assess what all is going on more than the snippets I am told. And yes, my mom is waiting on me. I want to stay forever! :seeya:

Drop Dead Diva is really good tonight.

Did you call him or did he call you?

:)

I called him :( He has some of my stuff (clothes and a necklace). I'm ashamed to say that I'm using that as an excuse to stay in touch with him. I really need to just go over there, get my belongings, and call it quits.
