This is funny. I'm always hoping to win the lottery. I never win anything. I enter this contest, and that contest, and I win nothing. I finally won something, and what is it? A Samsung Galaxy tablet computer. Like I can afford another data plan when I have two teenagers :floorlaugh:.

The residents could be difficult, but the relatives were, mostly, more difficult. They felt guilty for putting their loved ones in a nursing home. Some made a lot of trouble- as if the more they complained, the more "concern/love" they had- because of their guilt. pretty sad, but I learned how to deal with them, after so many years, and calm them down. We had a very good nursing home.
The residents were, basically great, if you look past their problems and just concentrated on what they are in the here-and-now. The relatives only seem to see only what is lost. Can't blame them tho'. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease- especially for the relatives. After all, the residents live in their own world and don't know what is lost.

The one I am most proud of was my small contribution to the 1994 Biden Crime Bill. My letter to then Senator Biden on behalf of my family was read on the Senate floor. The letter was about my brother and the impact of his murder on our family. It was entered into the Congressional Record and seen on CSPAN. It culminated with my going to the White House with Joe for the signing of the Crime Bill. I met with President Clinton and talked 1:1 with him on the importance of more police and stronger crime fighting measures at that time. I felt like I honored my brother by sharing him with people who could make a BIG difference. I think it did. Biden Crime Bill made cities and states safer with more funding for police and crime fighting agencies among other things.

I was watching the Real Housewives of Orange County. They are not as cute at all not even close as the baby pandas that I have not seen. I find them a very interesting character study as in "Who acts like this?"

I am telling you this straight up. Power or the semblance of power is addicting. I had a sip and I wanted more. Not possible, but I did. No wonder nobody in Congress wants to resign. I was escorted by Secret Service. I met the Cabinet members. People deferred to me. For one minute, I was somebody important or it felt that way. It was only because I was a guest of Joe's and he was very highly respected by his fellow lawmakers. President Clinton was awesome. How many people get to share with a sitting President their story for 30 minutes.

I was adopted, Linda, at 3 days old! Parents had 2, then got me.
