In post status conference coverage, ABC reported that Nurmi was scheduled to present his arguments regarding the cruel aggravator found by jurors in May. He told Judge Stephens he was not prepared at this time. This contradicts reports from other news agc'ys that his motion had been denied. She ordered all motions be filed by August 5. There was no statement as to when Nurmi might be ready to present oral argument on the motion from June.

BBM: Are they ever ready for anything? Either those two are the best attorneys at dragging their feet that I've ever seen, or they are completely incompetent. I love your names for them Tuba, Nor Me and Will Not.....perfect!

Just some observations in life's adventures:

I watched the most charming, sweet movie, A Good Year , starring Russell Crowe. I loved the ambience of this movie, set in a French vineyard- made me want to go out and buy it. I suggest you add this movie to your Summer movie list.

I have a new best commercial about Morton (Morty) and Leah (Lee) Kaufman who are 90, married 44 years, who live in Valley Stream, NY. I just want to pinch their cheeks. :floorlaugh: Kudos to Swifter:

I want to live in Cedar Cove with Olivia. :floorlaugh: What a quaint town by the sea in Washington. I need to check out this series of books by Debbie Macomber. Anyone read them?

In "Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove," Andie MacDowell plays Judge Olivia Lockhart, whose Cedar Cove Municipal Court is the professional milieu and social microcosm of issues the judge will face in her own day-to-day life with family and friends. Jack Griffith (Dylan Neal), the editor of the Cedar Cove Chronicle, is a new friend and potential love interest for Judge Lockhart.

I have a wasp that lives in my light fixture on my back deck (well maybe not "in", but behind, I guess- in the siding???). I researched this particular wasp- seems there are all kinds (live and learn), because I was afraid to be stung :scared:, Seems this wasp does not bite, so I'll leave it alone.
The wasp looks just like the picture in this article (for an insect- it's pretty good looking :floorlaugh:):

Thanks for reading :seeya:

:panic: I hate wasps! A few weeks ago I reached into my purse to get my keys, and thought I stuck my hand on something sharp in my purse. Nope, it was a wasp....In My Purse! My hand swole up like a balloon. Nasty critters. :scared:

By the way, I have no affiliation with the Swifter company, just so you know.

I just hit my 1600 post. Is that a good thing, or do I talk too much. :(

Evening, my princess.
You don't talk as much as me  :floorlaugh:
1189 posts since April of this year

Unfortunately, you encountered the stinging kind.
MY waspy is more refined and elegant, don't you know :floorlaugh:
How is your hand now?

I think those things were made for people that have no pets. I can't imagine using one here with two dogs and a cat (all shedding). I would spend a fortune on the disposable refills for the cloth cleaning part. :floorlaugh:

BBM Uh-oh. Is this a no-no here??? We don't want to be slapped by Lamby so early in the evening. :truce:
(it's funny, tho' :floorlaugh:)

If you look closely at the first YTube, you'll see Lee has a sort of stuffed cat that she is stroking. No hair in her very clean house :floorlaugh:
With my cat, vacuming (sp- why can't I spell anymore :banghead:) every other day is advisable. I could make another cat with all the hair I brush and comb from Milo :floorlaugh: I even have hair in my refrigerator and freezer (he likes to sleep on top of it) :floorlaugh: the Queen doesn't shed (bless her heart).
Swifter would be useless here- but good for dusting the furniture and things.

Daisy, are you here?
How are you feeling?
I lite some candles today for you- to be well, and Zuri and her brother- for peace of mind, and M- for confidence in herself and her life (you make your own happiness).

PrincessSezMe, it seems part of the defense design is to shunt this case, this train, onto a siding. The oral argument must ! have been in Nurmi's mind when he wrote the motion attacking cruel as an aggravator. Writing out the motion is actually more demanding of thought than talking about it. I would guess he is searching for precedents. All he has found to June date are instances where other lawyers objected to "cruel" & "especially cruel". As I said back in June, the motion is passing strange considering how often juries have considered the term "cruel" since it was written into our 8th Amendment in 1791. We all have an innate understanding of cruel, which does not imply that understanding is unlawful or not legal. Because the judge directed jurors to hew to that exactly does not equate to exceeding her function & straying into legislating, which is what Nurmi wrote.

vacuuming :seeya: :) don't hurt your head banging it :floorlaugh:

Perhaps Mr. Nurmi would prefer if we changed extremely cruel to horrific, sadistic, inhumane, brutal, savage???? Cruel by definition means to inflict pain and suffering. I think she went way beyond that. JA told Det. Flores herself if she had done this horrific crime she would beg for the death penalty. So there you go. Even JA knew what she had done was more than just wrong. jmo

Thank-you Professor Daisy :floorlaugh:
I'm going to send all my posts to you for corrections before I post them- OK? :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Evening Lamby :seeya:
And she told Det. Flores she would've worn gloves IF she did it.

I feel your pain. About 5 weeks ago I got bit by a yellow jacket. I had two reactions. ! about 36 hours after being stung and I realized the stinger was still in. Pulled it out and in the morning a portion of my hand was red, hot, swollen and very itchy. Took benadryl for about 5 days. Swelling went down by Wednesday. On that same Friday the hand was itchy again, so I scratched. Hand started to swell immediately. Went to ER and 400 dollars later. Eh!
2 Sundays ago, at picnic at moms. I feel a burning sensation on my calf. Don't know what the heck bit me, stung me???? Iced it, put baking soda paste on it and benadryl again. Following day red, hot, swollen and itchy. No scratching for me. Back to doctors. I have never reacted to bites like this before. It truly sucks and now I go inside when I see a biting, stinging creature.
Daughter so one of those cicada eating wasps on her deck today. First she told me it was a Giant Japanese wasp. They can kill and melt flesh. Then she realized it was not the Giant wasp but the cicada killer. I swear if it was the Giant wasp I would avoid her home until Fall.
Hope yours heals up fast.
