Hey guys...any new word on the trial? Have to say...I can't wait for it to start. I have a feeling the defense will push it back to maybe January. I hope not though. Also hope it will be live-streamed.

my doc has 4 kids..he told me that the biggest change is going from 1 kid to 2 kids, after that he said it's all chaos anyway so it's not that bad. I have heard this from multiple people as well. We have a 4 bedroom house so I'm kinda thinking 3 might be a better number, unless we add on or something. I just know in my heart i will prob want a 4th. My husband was an only child and wants a large family.

I was in social work/legal stuff before I decided to stay home after my youngest but i do want to go back to school for nursing. My dad thinks I should have my kids and then finish my education. I already have a bachelors but in today's world everyone wants a masters degree, it's crazy. I have a tahoe so the car situation is fine. And i'm all about hand me downs, I could care less about the materalistic stuff. Yes, I have a nice stroller, house, car but when it comes to the kids clothes, cribs, etc, they will all be getting hand me downs! Heck, my kids share a high chair right now and the youngest still sleeps in the pack and play I got when I was preggo with my daughter. I figured, why buy a new crib right now when I can wait until my oldest is ready for a toddler bed.

My main concern is college. Sometimes i wish the world could go back to how it was decades ago, when large families were the norm and it was ok for moms to stay home or work part time..day care is so darn expensive!

Hi Mollyandme, I've been reading this topic with interest b/c I currently have one son, 6 years old, and well I'm not gettin' any younger, so I need to think about having other kids if I want to. Your situation is already very ideal, so you shouldn't worry about it too much...you already, with God's grace, have 2children and you and your husband seem to have the same ideas of the family you want. My problem is that my husband, unfortunately, apparently did not have a good experience growing up in terms of his relationship with his brothers, and so after our son he is very hesitant to have another child. I think he is kind of scared that if our son has siblings, he'll have a "miserable" childhood like my husband did. (I personally think that was just b/c of my husband's own issues, not anything to do with his siblings...for example, feeling like his mom gave them more attention, didn't appreciate him enough, loved his older brother more, etc.). I, on the other hand, have always dreamed of having 3. Guess dreams don't always work out...real life gets in the way and all that.

So I guess what I'm saying is that, don't worry, everything will work out...you already have big obstacles out of the way, such as your husband is also in agreement to have more kids. You guys also seem to have your finances in order and have discussed what would happen if you stay home longer and with more kids. So let's say you have one more, then you can see after that whether or not you guys want more kids. I would suggest having your third pretty soon after the second, then you can send them off to school with only small gaps in between, allowing you to do other things. Also if you want 4 then definately have the 3rd soon. Good luck!!

I wouldn't put too much stock in what your doctor says about it...you said "he" and he is a doctor so obviously very busy....meaning he doesn't have to deal with those 4 kids much on a daily basis, if you know what I mean. He has either a wife at home or combination of wife/nanny dealing with those kids. So easy for him to say it's "not that bad." Also easy for him financial-wise...doesn't have to worry about finances, college expenses, insurance, etc..

I wouldn't trust any advice about how many kids coming from a male, JMO and all that.

Ahem...I am the wife/nanny of a physician. I loved the part about not having to worry about finances! Your lips to God's ears! Unfortunately, not all of us are wealthy as MD does not buy you what it used to. It is all relative I guess. I will be rich when the loans are all paid off, school and business as I am in hock for 1M. My husband is extremely busy and made time for our children when they were young as much as he could. Truthfully, you are right in that I felt like a single wife/nanny most days. But I made sure to tell my husband about it everyday! :floorlaugh:

My kids pediatric doctor was wonderful and he did do it all! Had 4 kids, went above and beyond for his patients and was very involved in his family and church. Not sure how he did it all or when he slept, some are just good that way.
