When I was in Southern Alaska a few weeks ago, it felt like it was close to the 90's!!!

I know right? Bizarre weather patterns everywhere.

Nice to see you on here again LinasK. It's been awhile. :seeya:

We've been dipping into the low 50's at night for weeks now, which is not normal for New England in the summer. Daytime highs might break 80 if we're lucky and it's been this way all of August. I feel like I missed a full month of summer.

My vegetables don't like it either. Tomatoes won't ripen with this cool weather. :(

The corn was really late here this year. Usually it comes the end of July/first week of August at the latest. The corn just came out last week.

We had a bout of cooler weather the last part of July and it put all the crops behind. Now we're needing rain, and less heat. I feel sorry for the farmers. It's not a business I would like to get into. You're at the mercy of the weather.

I am in the Southeast and I feel like summer has finally started. It has been cool and rainy. On July 4th it was 70 degrees for the high. The North has been hot and the south has been cool. Crazy.

Where is everyone lately? Where is The Queen, and where are Miss daisy and Zuri? :scared:

I'm still here mostly at night. Y/N is having internet issues and will return soon; and Zuri is hiding from us sneaking in unseen. :floorlaugh:

Weather is crazy lately. Our usual daytime highs this time of year are mid 70's, going down to low 50's at night. I wish! I'm not much for the heat. If I was I'd be living in AZ :floorlaugh:.

PS - we don't have sonic here. We go for 7-11 Slurpees. We're the Slurpee capital of Canada. :floorlaugh:

Taco Bell has this new lemonade slush during their Happy Hour and it is DELICIOUS!

i was reading this is the slowest season EVER for hurricanes to start.

i was reading this is the slowest season EVER for hurricanes to start.

I lived in the Caribbean on a boat for 10 years, including the very active year of 1995 when we got hit 3 times in less than 2 weeks including Luis. My ex is still there, so I do pay attention to the weather all season long, and yes, it is very quiet right now. The Sahara dust hasn't moved far off of Africa and the more recent systems coming off of the continent are getting smothered when they hit the dry air over the Atlantic. Really strange...I've not seen it like this so late in the season, especially when there were named storms so early on.

Cross your fingers that this is a gentle hurricane season. I dealt with Sandy last year and Irene the year before. No power for a week both times. I could deal with the weather when I lived on a boat, but I don't like it so much on land.

Thanks for the info as I do follow hurricanes. :)

That's one thing I'm thankful for, is that I don't live anywhere near hurricane country. I can't imagine having that worry, and I pray for all of you who do live with that fear during the summer months. We've only recently had to seriously deal with tornados up here. They were almost unheard of in Canada until recently. I thought I left that behind when I moved away from Kansas LoL.

Here in Central Az. we have a tropical storm over us, rained most of today and yesterday, flood advisory's and warnings all over the place, we didn't get up past 70 degrees. The weather got this way last year too, was really great, didn't have the cold set in until the end of October, wood stove time. We don't fire that up till we have our first low temp of 32.
Phoenix will probably heat up tomorrow and have really high humidity, uck! Forecasting a "bad hair day" for CMJA. Wonder if we will be graced with the presence of her family during this phase?
Something ain't right when her family's in the court and no one steps up to the plate for her. Maybe they REALLY don't want her out on the streets ever, and this was just good fortune for them? IDK.

I seriously wonder why her family doesn't seem to be more supportive. Yes, they're there in the courtroom every day, but you would think they would have SOMETHING to say during her mitigation. Not a peep from any of them, which to me is very strange. Maybe they would rather see her behind bars. Maybe she scares them too. :dunno:

Soon I will be having Internet issues too. :( Until then I will enjoy the company of my friends.

Zuri isn't here, so I'll ask a question. What's your favorite movie?

Hurricane season goes through November and often times they hit late in the season. I've never been through a serious one. Years ago we got the warnings and evacuations but I didn't leave. I kind of had fun not being able to stand up almost blown over. Shingles were flying everywhere! We cooked a turkey to get through it. Hope I never go through any stronger than that.

I'm sure she was a delightful child and teen to raise and her family just might have had enough now.

Wow, I would love to live on a boat. I love boats. This summer has not been good boating weather so my boat just sits at the dock. What kind of boat did you live on???
