Hi Whisperer, you could well be right on that. Maybe she isnt getting much money anymore. I also thought they are just trying to bring up anything and everything. Personally I'd want it over with if it were someone in my family. Its so nice seeing her dressed like that. Just think never a new dress for the rest of her life, no jeans, no bikinis.:: :jail: :floorlaugh:

Pretty sure. KCL's sister's murderer sits on death row and that is just where he sits. Same seems to go for DP female convicts.

ETA He sits in prison in Perryville on Death Row.

Our high today in high desert Paulden was "briefly" 80 degrees, right now, it's 63 and a storm just finished blasting through, thunder, lightning, rain, Rain, RAIN! Tomorrow will be stifling down in the "Old Home Sweet Estrella Jail" in Phoenix...........too bad, so sad!:floorlaugh:

Jonathan was found, so very sad, just 1000' from his SUV. Another family mourning the loss of a young person.

I think old CMJA wants a LWP deal from the County Attorney. Thinks she has a chance with this new jury when they get it impaneled. I wonder if they'd let someone testify in her behalf if they had a bag over their head? More than one way to skin a cat!

BF goes in for either his MRI or SLUM testing tomorrow, don't know which. I've been reading about Alzheimer's......sucks more than I thought it did. Had to close the tab. 7 year life expectancy from diagnosis, 3% might make it to 14 years. I used to think life was a series of tests, challenging your fortitude, making you stronger, but seriously, I don't need another merit badge in surviving totally, uncalled for, "extra credit". :facepalm: I just want 5 years of totally chilled out breathing!

I guess the good news is I already have what most AD caregivers get taking care of their loved one, so I'm ahead of the game. (Depression, Anxiety). Well, maybe, maybe not. :scared:

One of the girls is from my town so it's pretty interesting. Spoiled little princess thats what I've taken from people in the area

Well, remember that if Jodi gets the DP, she gets and automatic appeal and lawyers that are paid for with our tax dollars.

If she gets LWOP then she doesn't get an automatic appeal and has to pay for her own lawyers if she wants to file anything.

It happened like 2/3 weeks ago now,they have just been remanded.

They told me to rest but I was like I have a 4 and 2 year old I can't sit about doing nothing

Just a reminder, folks, that there is no such thing as parole in AZ. The hold-up is that there is a penalty for Life with possibility of RELEASE after 25 years. Otherwise, it's LWOP. At the original DP trial, Juan Martinez and the defense had an issue with this possibility. We know where both sides stand on this issue, for sure.

Thing is, there is no policy on the release after 25 years. Martinez was concerned (IMHO and from my faltering memory) that a mechanism for this could be put in place during the 25-year wait.

I have to wonder what kind of "deal" the defense wants. In the very far recesses of my brain, I believe there is a possibility that Jodi would like to get the charges/conviction reduced to Murder 2 with 25 or fewer years, period.

The reality is, that would never happen. If the new jury hangs, it will be up to JSS to decide. I really don't believe she would opt for the 25 year possibility. Jodi is one dangerous, damaged woman. She needs to be locked up for the rest of her life to protect society.

I also read, back during the trial, that Lifers begin their confinement in solitary along with DP inmates. They have to earn their way out of there. I'm not sure of the number of years it takes in general, but recall something like 3-5.

She no doubt would like manslaughter, or better yet, self defense and walk free today. What she wants, mercifully, doesn't mean squat. A jury convicted her of first degree with premed. She can't bargain that away.
She isn't holding any chips at all.

Now Zuri you know how I feel about this whole trial, they dont have to convince the Alexanders of anything. This was stated awhile back by someone in the know.They are trying to please them but they can only go so far. I thin she was made an offer like that and refused. She wants life with a chance for parole. I dont see her ever getting parole because the murder was so viscious. She would always be a threat to the population. J.M. doesnt want a plea either he wants to go all the way! :maddening: :seeya:

Do you know for sure that the state offered her that deal? I' d be surprised they did, but unsurprised she wouldn't agree to it. I completely understand the A's and JM's determination to try again for the DP. Call me cruel and nasty, but I don't want her to have any hope whatsoever that she will ever get out. Let her live daily knowing positively that she will die in Perryville one way or the other.
