I haven't seen a link yet...the media has not reported on this and I'm waiting for them to pick up on it. If I see it, I'll post a link here.

I'm in southeastern Connecticut on the shoreline, about five miles from Long Island Sound. I live in a small neighborhood surrounded by lots of trees and wildlife. The deer and rabbits visit my yard every day, which makes it hard to grow just about anything. Even with fences up, the raccoons got into the vegetable patch and ate all but 2 ears of corn. We've seen bobcats in the yard a number of times. I haven't seen any bears, but they have been sighted in some rural towns not far from here.

A few years ago, some pigs got loose from a farm and invaded the neighborhood and pretty much destroyed the lawn in one yard with their rooting.

Hi, gcharlie :seeya:
Here's a cute raccoon for you (and No- daisy- you can't have one :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:):

But, daisy, maybe you can have one of these babies :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

I think she has tickets for today and Friday...just sent her a text to find out.

She lives in sunny California and it seems like she always gets this kind of weather when she comes here in the summer. Rainy or days on end of high humidity where towels won't dry and everything just feels sticky.

Looks like my lucky sister will be watching the women's quarterfinals today.

I'll pass on the raccoon, if you don't mind, though I do appreciate your generosity.

A friend of mine tried to keep a baby as a pet. Not a good idea. After all, they are wild animals. Once that raccoon got close to being out of the infant stage, it destroyed everything. When I say everything, I mean everything.

Plus, they are notorious for carrying rabies. :scared:

Happy late afternoon or early evening. I am sipping a glass of wine after a long stressful day. Got up at 3:00 to drive my parents to the hospital 30 miles away to have my dad there at 5:00 am. My dad had outpatient surgery for skin cancer. Got to work at 5:30 and left at 9:30 to go get them and take them home. Went to the pharmacy and got my dad his prescriptions. Went back to work around noon and worked until 4. I feel like I have been driving all day. I am now sitting in the recliner while I a load of laundry washing. After it is done, i am taking a nap.

M, I have been meaning to ask you this, is the 1279 your birth month/year or is it your birth month , day and year or some random number. If you do not want to answer, just tell me it is none of my business. I wonder because I have a birthday in month 12.

I'm wondering what M stands for. Mary, Melissa, Marie, Meredith, Margie, Melinda, Margo, Martha, Mildred, Myra, Myrna ...... ??

Must have too much time on my hands. :floorlaugh:

Well so much for the nap. On glass 2 of wine and cooking my senior pups their chicken. My dogs love my cooking and don't complain like others do.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:!!!!!

I guess it's the same thing as those people who climb Mt. Everest and do other crazy things.

I'm out to set a reccord for sitting on my bed playing with my computer:floorlaugh: My Doctor thinks its great that I do this. it beats sitting in a rocking chair! :seeya:

Hello everyone :seeya:. I've been busy lately and haven't had as much time to chat with all of you as I would like. I know it looks like I'm always on, but I just stay logged on so that when I do want to chat I don't have to wait (never did have any patience LoL). What is everyone up to?

gcharlie - I hear you about the raccoons. We had a problem with raccoons and distemper last fall. I came home from work and thought there was a cat on my deck. No, it was a raccoon and he was acting FUNNY. Disoriented and panting, and he didn't even act skittish when I walked up to the deck stairs. I had to call animal control to come get him, and sure enough he had distemper.

We have lots of deer in our back yard all the time (especially in the winter), and I've seen a wolf once and a groundhog. We also have a problem with foxes once in a while so I have to watch our little pom when he's outside.

Tulessa, your house is beautiful. I love hardwood, and it looks so cozy.

Zuri - did your horse win anything over the weekend?

I missed you guys! Good evening to Miss Daisy and Kensie too :seeya:.

Signs of summer coming to an end...wild turkeys were in my back yard this morning.

:turkey:

I love Summer. I hate the days getting shorter. I don't like cold weather clothes except for boots. I like shorts, tshirts and dresses. At least in AL it should not get really cold until November.

What this 1956 baby cannot get used to:

- yellow, green and blue nail polish
- black bras under white shirts and bra straps that are not covered by tops
- men wearing cotton dress shirts full of wrinkles
- 7 day shadow (as opposed to 5 o'clock shadow)
- customers on their cell phone lines while checking out at the grocery store
- 10 robo-calls a day, even though I am on a do not call list
- stripes with plaids

I'm sure that I can think of more, but these are off the top of my head.
