I could talk at length about this .. One thing I'll say quickly though .. She didn't flip Juan off .. She scratched her nose .. Look at the pic / video again .. This is the kind of sensationalism that ppl have pushed in regards to this case and defense witnesses in particular. I think Patti went on a journey with this situation, but she does not support Jodi, she was her friend, she couldn't imagining her doing such a thing, acceptance took awhile etc, but she has accepted it and does not support her now.

Mrs. G, her side seemed to have a lot of "itchy noses". Womack was caught on camera, along with Grandma and the convicted murderer herself "scratching that itch" with their middle finger. Coincidence? I think not.

She turned up at the courthouse high on drugs for pete's sake. I think the only thing that changed her mind was the fact that the prosecution had the goods on her, and she didn't want to face perjury charges for lying on the killer's behalf. MOO.

I must have seen a different video where Womack is in court on day 10 falling asleep, clearly under the influence, where she also accidentally flips the bird. Huh. Scratching the nose with the middle finger? Yeah, I don't know. Sounds like after a couple times it's not just an accident. How many times do you accidentally flip someone off? Don't buy it.

Agree .. They're desperate and it shows! Also has anyone ever met a killer who loved media more than Jodi? If she uses media attention as an appeallate issue down the line it will be super ironic, but I'm sure she will.

Hi, I totally agree! I've thought this all over. I honestly think at this point, ja. thinks she is going to get Lwp.. she is now using the media to get her voice out to the people. She wants all to remember her. This is why she is so adamant about not taking Lwop. She honest to God believes one day she will be free and can pursue a singing career. She is completely delusional. She is one brick short of a load!:floorlaugh: She doesn't give, a fig about Travis, his suffering,
her family, his family, or anyone else. She is a Demon who is set on getting out. They DT, will run the case the way she wants after all it is how she will get herself free. I dont know what she will do when reality sinks in. I once had a Dr. tell me that about our D.I.L. when My son was so ill, I know what she did.:stormingmad: This phase of trial will be a hoot.:seeya:

Not only did she do it she admitted doing it. In particular to NG. lol

I agree MeeBee. I mean, even Grandma? What a classy bunch on that side of the courtroom. Between the "middle finger salutes" and the "giggling twins" I don't know which was more offensive.

And then you look at Travis' family's side of the courtroom where they handled each and every difficult day with dignity. A very black and white difference in how they conducted themselves compared to CMJA's supporters. And yet Travis' family were the ones being chastised for their blue ribbon pins, and for showing some emotion during the most difficult of testimony. It irks me to no end even now. :stormingmad:

Under current AZ law, there is no parole for her but there is the possibility of release after 25 years if she should receive the governor's commutation of her sentence at that time. Such grants are exceedingly uncommon in AZ. Looking ahead, the law may change and looking back, there was that female convict who got the hangman's noose but physically lost her head during the hanging. In Arizona.

One can only hope, Tuba. Fortunately, for her, the DP is a little less "cruel" these days.

You guys really think they were giving the finger in court? I don't at all, I think it's silly nonsense from people who have some crazy reason to hate on everyone on Jodi's side of the courtroom as if they are somehow complicit in the murder just because they knew her. I wonder if we took screen shots with that purpose on the other side of the courtroom we'd come up with just as many 'giving the finger' moments?

In surveying her options, I think C.M. asked Nurmi what Judge Stephens might choose as her sentence if it became her responsibility. Not satisfied with his answer, I think she had the effrontery to ask that of the judge herself, in chambers. I'm sure the judge would have rapped her down with the rejoinder that she would not disclose that even if she could or even if she knew at present & that C.M. was way out in front of herself by asking.

Yes Mrs. G, I do. If that kind of behavior was present on the other side of the courtroom the media would have been all over it. It just didn't happen.

I don't "hate" on them, but I think they lack any kind of couth whatsoever. Who giggles during the murder one trial of their family member? They put all of their angst on the prosecutor when they should have been blaming the perp herself for putting them there in the first place. The "survivor" ribbons they flaunted in the face of Travis' family, after making much ado about their blue ribbons, said it all for me. Totally without class.

ETA: remember the guy who did that in JBP's courtroom during FCA's trial? He did jail time. As he should have. Total disrespect.

On the stand Dr. Samuels said that he and Nurmi approached Jodi when they realized her story was BS and that she must be hiding something. Translation: she needed to come up with a better lie. Here's how I imagine that going:

"Jodi, nobody believes you. Something else must have happened that day. Did Travis attack or provoke you in some way?"

"Why yes, yes he did. In fact..."

"And was this the first time Travis ever tried to physically hurt you?"

"Well, no. Travis was in fact quite abusive..."

"And Travis doesn't really have a history of abuse. There must be something or a reason that Travis hit you and no one else. Something that made your relationship different."

And thus, the bad Mormon-pedophile meme was born. Curious how much the sex offender lawyer was involved in turning this into such a salacious case. And Jodi thinking, "I knew those recordings would come in handy..."

I seriously do not doubt Nurmi suborned perjury by coaxing a lie out of Jodi. And she's so damn good at lying she ran with it. If Jodi's story was BS, even if he knew this, his job was to defend that story to the best of his abilities. The fact that Samuels said that is huge to me. It basically points to him getting another story that he knew would be a lie out of Jodi. He suborned perjury.

BBM.......this post had me LMAO! But the bolded part? :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Not as good of a liar as she thought!!!!:floorlaugh:
OMG, "No, I wasn't there, see my receipts?", "It was Ninjas, see my finger?", "I did it but I didn't know the gun was loaded and he body slammed me..........and CUT IT OUT! You're NOT PLAYING by MY RULES!!!!!"
:floorlaugh:

I don't think anyone in court was flippin' the bird. If they were, it sure was a weak gesture. Here is a YouTube video from a person that thinks Steven Alexander (on the other side of the courtroom) appears to be giving the middle finger to Ms LaViolette. I don't think he was. Some people want to see things that are just not there. Like the people that see Jesus on a tortilla or on mold. :moo:

If you are correct, the problem is there currently is no life with parole in Arizona. There is life, natural life and the death penalty. Life includes a minimum of 25 years, but there currently is no provision for parole under the life sentence for first degree murder.

Now this is not a problem for us, because it means that the only way CMJA would ever be free to walk the streets again is to have her conviction overturned on appeal or for her to be pardoned. I don't see this happening.

Seriously, you kids, STOP IT!!!!!
Who picks their nose, let alone SCRATCHES their nose with the finger used for the Internationally accepted sign of Brotherhood? Er...... no that's the Boy Scouts, ok, the gesture most likely used during a spirited round of road rage?
Really, scratching your nose like that dismisses the whole idea of having an index finger. then we all get dragged into the "opposable thumb" debate, Darwinism and Creationism, and dogs co-habitating with cats and the whole world goes into anarchy!!!!! :scared:
I feel much better now, just had to get that out there!:floorlaugh:

I've always wondered how those conversations evolved to the point where she recanted the ninja story and claimed self defense. It had to be many, many conversations over a period of time and in my heart of hearts, I do believe that she had some coaching to arrive at the self defense.

While I do have many issues with Nurmi, I don't believe that he was the one who came up with the pedo story. Neither lawyer argued for the forged letters in court so CMJA had to act as her own counsel on this motion and was denied. More people could have been swayed towards her as a victim of abuse if it weren't for this outrageous lie.

I honestly don't even care. Whether Patti or Jodi or grandma is flipping people off is not a point of interest for me. My original point is that she did not pull out due to death threats, and neither did ALV. They both have their own issues and Nurmi is just using this as an excuse to blame the prosecutor and the media for the fact that they cannot find one credible mitigation witness for Jodi without. It's sneaky.

Oh, I agree with that. That one was Jodi's baby. It's her magnum opus. She's probably super proud of it. And she seems to have gotten the idea from the Freeman's brother who killed himself. But she is saying it so they have to defend it.

Completely agree that her story would have been at least somewhat easier to swallow if not for that lie. It's too cartoonishly over the top. Of course, that's not the only problem with her story.

Do you ever think she has those few moments, alone in her cell, when she just thinks to herself..."if I had only STFU from day 1, I wouldn't be here".....?
Naw.
BTW: Is Estrella or Perryville, or prisons in general listed in "1000 Places to See Before You Die"? Maybe CMJA might have mis-read it......*snort*
I know, got to chill out, just had a wave of giggles I had to express...

And I still sincerely believe that she felt a need & compulsion to check every single box on the domestic violence inventory. Problem being, when she arrived at "Harm to the children", she had none and so Travis-as-pedophile was born, her oh so creative solution.

IMO..I would keep Joshua Freeman out of the JA/TA story.
