I honestly don't even care. Whether Patti or Jodi or grandma is flipping people off is not a point of interest for me. My original point is that she did not pull out due to death threats, and neither did ALV. They both have their own issues and Nurmi is just using this as an excuse to blame the prosecutor and the media for the fact that they cannot find one credible mitigation witness for Jodi without. It's sneaky.

Agree, and that is exactly right, there are no mitigation witnesses for Jodi because she has no grounds for mitigation, she was not abused as a child, and she was not abused by Travis, and good luck them finding anyone willing to get up there and say otherwise when people can see through the lies and are sick of it. There is a slim chance someone will get up there and support the faux™, but even if they do, I don't see how forgetting a crime = any kind of mitigation. The real reason Nurmi can't mount a mitigation defence is because there just isn't one, he's just hoping to somehow set up a record for appeal in the hope that somewhere in the future someone can come along with a fresh idea and use it to commute her DP to a life sentence.

So I wonder who they will call and what they will try and say? I am hoping they call Jodi and she gets up there and throws so many people under the bus that the jury sees straight through her.

That's what's going on. He's hoping that years and years down the line when an appeal court does not have advantage of having Jodi in the news and not being up to speed on the minutiae of the trial, after Martinez is long gone that an appeal judge will see one of his motions and overturn her conviction. It's all they've got at this point.

I was also watching day 47 today, the morning session hearings. It just looks like Nurmi is using the court and these motions to basically tattle on the prosecutor. It's so childish and petty. He uses them to bring things in front of the judge, like the autograph signing and the him "yelling" at Samuels and makes a long shot link to that being the reason they can't defend their client. I've never seen a defense team get so mad at a prosecutor that they have to tattle to the judge on him for being a meanie. It just made me laugh. You even had Wilmott and Jodi writing notes back and forth to each other on notebook like school girls. He seems rather incompetent, as does Wilmott in her own way.

And I still sincerely believe that she felt a need & compulsion to check every single box on the domestic violence inventory. Problem being, when she arrived at "Harm to the children", she had none and so Travis-as-pedophile was born, her oh so creative solution.

I remember her little bruises on her neck turning into her being COVERED in bruises from head to toe. I remember the only person who saw the bruises being, conveniently, Matt McCartney. Then it turned into her sister seeing her COVERED in bruises (more perjury pleas?). I remember Travis' four incidences of abuse, where once he kicks her a few times, where another he chokes her, turning into her getting the crap beat out of her by him. She's ridiculous. I don't know how ANYONE can believe what she's saying.

Daniel Freeman testified, not Josh Freeman. Josh was Daniel's brother and had nothing to do with the trial. Joshua died in 2008.

Yep, none. I think the argument that Nurmi is using, ie the 'no witness will speak for her, because of the all the negative attention they will get, and it's all the courts fault' may be his best bet really. I really think if the reports are true that she was offered a deal then she should have taken it, but I guess she's hoping for some kind of parole, which isn't going to happen either. They're hoping for a retrial somewhere down the line I guess. HA!!

Agree .. They're desperate and it shows! Also has anyone ever met a killer who loved media more than Jodi? If she uses media attention as an appeallate issue down the line it will be super ironic, but I'm sure she will.

I have not met any killers, but off the top of my head killers who love the media are Charles Manson, Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald (he will never give up) and David Berkowitz. If you are correct, the problem is there currently is no life with parole in Arizona. There is life, natural life and the death penalty. Life includes a minimum of 25 years, but there currently is no provision for parole under the life sentence for first degree murder.

Now this is not a problem for us, because it means that the only way CMJA would ever be free to walk the streets again is to have her conviction overturned on appeal or for her to be pardoned. I don't see this happening.

gcharlie, I agree with you. I feel she thinks she will get a new trial on an appeal or sentence will be commuted. This is what I mean. She will not accept the fact that murder 1 means in cases like hers no going back. That would be for people who dont know the Law, not jodie who after 5 1/2 years considers herself a self proclaimed Lawyer.:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
