I'm so over JA and her lawyers.

It disgusts me to see a convicted felon use the court system in such a way that they are doing. I feel bad for the Arizona tax payers having to work hard to fund this nonsense.

Yes, JSKS' leash has been quite long.

Oh boy, I wonder if she will show up with shoulder length hair to prove that, along with her book club and Spanish teaching (por favor!) she is sticking to her mitigation promises.

Naw, she's too vain. She could never chop off her long shiny hair.

I'm going with another pristine pony tail, held together with her hair grease. No wannabe bun today.

I think the sentencing won't happen until January.

I think it'll be next year sometime. I'm just saying it's not impossible and that the judge will probably want to set a Sept date. But the DT has other plans.

I'd be happier if there was not speculation here on a pro-victim website casting aspersions on jurors. You sound as cynical as Nurmi. I prefer to believe that jurors do take their responsibility very seriously and would not want to do anything to jeopardize the trial.

As for the animal abuse question, I was looking at old boards on the web dating to September 2008 and this is something that a number of people wondered about before any of the pet stories broke. It is a natural question to ask; there is often a history of animal abuse with people who commit extremely violent crimes.

I agree with you Mrs. G, and I actually had the same thought when that animal abuse question came in! There was also a question from Mr. Foreman that tells me he's at least a little up to speed on what's going on in the media with Jodi. His question was something about Jodi's depression being caused by widespread accusations and media crucifixion. I thought, now how does this person know what people are saying about her in the media if they are not at least catching bits and pieces of the news about her? I think other jurors were more diligent though.

I think at least #17 was not honoring her admonition to a T and she was peeking at Jodi stuff online. I just hope the non sequestration doesn't come back to haunt the judge. I think it should be ok, since anyone can see any jury would have convicted her, and there's no way of knowing how any of this affected the verdict since they all said they were honoring their admonitions. I think this is all good stuff to ask AZLawyer. She does say it's clear from these documents Tara did nothing wrong. But if she liked the State vs. Jodi page early on, before her duty was up, that could be a problem. I am on the page and the day after they were released she wrote on it. So...IDK.

Yep, that's pretty much how I saw it too, I am not sure how much effect it had because I agree that she was found guilty of murder 1 based on facts not media hype. The court ran so slow sequestering them would have been impossible or extremely expensive. I guess we are lucky that Juror 17 was an alternate.

I just really want the conviction to be upheld no matter what. I am the one who's been defending Tara. I just don't want there to be issues down the road since the verdict was huge for justice for Travis. I don't think the jurors could have been sequestered nor should they have been. But if the DT makes enough of a stink about it, who knows what an appeal court will do 10, 20, 30 years from now.

Why not? I always thought Websleuths was all about seeking out the whole truth, we are capable of seeing human failings on all sides surely? Otherwise we end up with a pretty one sided discussion IMO.

What I fail to understand is why the defense wouldn't want to get this over with now? Nurmi keeps asking to withdraw from the case and JSS says no so why wouldn't they ask for a trial like tomorrow? Games being played for sure.

Because they're :scared:

They have no idea what they're game plan is. So their only chance is to manipulate the system and the media.

Thanks M for your receipe - I forwarded your receipe to my Huz, as he is the cook in the house!! He said he liked his receipe better and asked me to share with you all!!

Ingredients:

· 2 green bell peppers

· 1 tsp. butter

· 1 tsp. olive oil

· 3 tbsp. chopped onion

· 3 tbsp. chopped celery

· 5 ounces diced tomatoes

· 3 ounces tomato sauce

· 1/3 clove garlic, crushed

· 1/2 teaspoon dried leaf oregano

· 1/4 teaspoon dried leaf basil

· 2/3 teaspoons salt, divided

· 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided

· 1/2 egg, lightly beaten

· 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

· 1/4 C parmesan cheese

· 1/2 pounds lean ground beef or chuck

· 1/2 cups cooked long-grain rice

· shredded Cheddar cheese, about 2.5 tbsp. to 1/4 cup, optional

Preparation:

Cut tops off peppers; remove seeds and membranes. Chop edible part of tops and set aside. Rinse peppers under cold water. Place peppers in a large pot; cover with salted water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 3 minutes. Drain peppers and set aside.

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Sauté chopped green pepper (from tops), chopped onion, and chopped celery for about 5 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, crushed garlic, oregano, basil, 1/3 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon of pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine egg with remaining 1/3 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Gently stir to blend; add ground beef, par cheese, cooked rice, and 1/3 cup of the tomato mixture. Mix well. Stuff peppers with meat mixture and place in a 3-quart baking dish. Pour remaining tomato mixture over the stuffed peppers. Bake at 350° for 55 to 65 minutes. If desired, top stuffed peppers with a little shredded Cheddar cheese just before peppers are done; bake until cheese is melted.
Recipe for stuffed peppers serves 2.

another delay???!!! I think this is so wrong the DT has had way over 5 years they have had! I know JM has to be ready to tear his hair out. I know I am. I was hoping for a sept start date.

Isn't JM busy right now with the Chrisman trial?

sigh

she will die of old age before she is sentenced.

there has to be a point where enough is enough

Is there a law in Arizona that would keep the defense from stalling forever and would keep them from filing their silly motions? JA has already been convicted so how can the defense keep this rolling? Is JSS the only one who can finally say ENOUGH? Just wondering. I find it all irritating and hurtful to the family of TA. Thanks.

This is what has been missing in my life lately :-) Hostess Twinkies!!! YUMMY! They're back! Now I can deal with anything JA.

There has to be some sort of chief judge or something that could put their foot down, this could go on for years at this rate,I mean it took nearly 5 years to even get to trial.

So much for me hoping for a verdict by my birthday on sept 20,I suppose I could get an early one with a trial date.

Juan must be pizzed. He has the chrisman trial going on and he has to waste his time going in to be told postponed again!

Hi Josie,
Hope we have a trial date set at least for your birthday. :)
My daughter's birthday is September 15th. Have a happy one anyway!

Anyone know how to find a good lawyer?

We are getting the run around now from not one, but two lawyers.

My mother died at the end of 2011. She named a lawyer to take care of her final affairs so that her daughters were not burdened; it was her intent that we not even know of her death until after she had been cremated. The lawyer turned out to be a disaster and basically did not know or care about the estate. She liquidated all my mom's IRAs and distributed the proceeds, even though we had elected to stretch the IRAs.

After many screw ups, we engaged a lawyer to represent us and deal with the lawyer administering the estate. Now we have two lawyers who are non-responsive.

It has been a month now that I have been trying to get the second lawyer to contact me and we're now looking a big problems filing tax returns by 9/15 because of him ignoring us. More than 2 weeks ago, we were told the matter was high priority and despite emails and phone calls, we do not have answers to some important questions. The handwriting is on the wall that this is not working.

It was so hard to find a lawyer with probate litigation experience in the part of Florida where our mom lived.

Grrrr...Mom would be furious to know how badly things have been handled. :(
