I believe ALV could have been in a lot of trouble with the judge because she may have misrepresented herself as an expert testifying in court on her CV that she had specific experience previously when she actually did not testify. I think that is what JM was upset about. It would be nice to see the transcripts from that hearing. JM kept asking the judge can I ask about that matter now and the judge kept saying no until JM finally lead ALV right into the admission that her CV was incorrect about testifying in a court case. jmo

What also came out at trial was ALaV's move into lectures and operational support. She is no longer working with victims or couples (always with one victim) as she did years back. So her experience with domestic violence was no longer first hand.

Well, we know she had two invasive surgeries for her breast implants. Has she had any operations before or after those? Don't think so.

it is so blatently obvious that nurmi and willmott have all of these motions they are planning to file and are strategically filing them at certain times in hopes of delaying the penalty phase...i'm assuming they are going to need to have a hearing on the change of venue motion?

Yes, Judge Stephens said we would be hearing argument from both sides on this motion on September 16, as well as the others filed by the Defense.

Josie, I'm so glad you're not in pain. That foot looks AWFUL. I can't imagine how you manage to look after two little ones with that. :scared:

Could someone please send some cooler weather my way? We are DYING up here in canuckland it's so freaking hot! Two straight weeks of 100 degree temps with the humidity. It's making everyone cranky. :stormingmad:

Someone should ship her off to "Shutter Island" for a frontal labotomy. It would be the best surgery to cure what ails her. :devil:

I don't think she believed she would get away with it per se. She believed she can manipulate and charm her snaky ways out of this.

And.... she never thought the camera would be found. I still don't know why she didn't ditch the camera with everything else.

1. It was Travis' and did not want anyone to know it had gone missing.
2. During her haste clean-up, the camera got tousled in the sheets.
3. She left it in there on purpose to expose Travis to the Mormon community.

My personal belief is #2 - she didn't hang around for long after the murder - I think she scooped up the sheets & tossed them in the washer and bolted and the camera was just in the washer. When she realized she probably consoled herself figuring, like I think most people would have, that the water would have sufficiently destroyed the camera to prevent the images from being recovered. The camera was too damaging to her alibi of not having been in Arizona at all for her to have knowingly risked leaving it there, in my opinion.

But the sheets were found in the dryer IIRC. I think she purposely put the camera in the washer thinking it would be too damaged for the deleted photos to be recovered, and that it would destroy any evidence of her having handled it. MOO

was bad enough but this case is even worse than that it just goes on and on and the family

Not that it really matters in terms of CMJA's guilt or innocence, but it is noteworthy that ALV's role in this case was initially as the mitigation specialist. Her first two interviews with CMJA were in 8/2011...who can forget that she combined her business trip with going to her daughter's wedding. LOL.

So she started this case with her primary role as the point person should the death penalty phase arise; clearly this position is to advocate for the defendant. She was unable to shift gears, nor would most people. I'm not sure how the DT team got away with this. Martinez should have brought this out in court if it was possible to do so. Maybe he tried but was struck down.

In any event, the DT was desperate for a forensic psychologist. Dr. Cheryl Karp was the first expert on the case and for reasons unknown, dissociated herself from the case. DeMarte let slip some juicy information that CMJA had disclosed 20 or more episodes of DV with Travis, but only 4 to ALV, thus she discounted the credibility of CMJA's allegations. Rumor has it that there were more than 11 forensic psychologists before the DT settled on ALV. Speculation is the reason the DT did not want detailed financial records released to the press because the records would show exactly who had been approached and paid to offer their expert testimony on CMJA's behalf.

Bottom line is that ALV was out of her league and in way over her head on this case. I do shudder at the fact that she has the ability to influence people and courts based on her "expert opinion" when it comes to DV. Custody cases are notorious for false claims of DV and her inability to be open minded and try to ascertain the truth has undoubtedly hurt many, many children and families.

Walked into Office Depot in Carson City today, and suddenly realized that it was the first stop Travis and I made after I picked him up at the Reno airport. It was his first trip to Tahoe to help me build my business. He bought equipment and had copies made, and all the time I'm thinking "Oh no! How is he ever going to get all that back on the plane?!" We get to the car, he puts the equipment in the back, gets in the passenger seat, and hands me an envelope. He smiles that great smile and says "This will help you get your business going." Travis didn't just do things to keep the pretense of being a good person. He didn't agree to help people then half it, like agreeing to take a cat for someone then lock it in a room and starve it. Or pretend to care about the planet and helping people after they got to jail to look good for mitigation purposes. He was not self serving. He was a truly caring and giving individual who did things without expecting anything in return. Read story after story of him helping people out just because.

Maybe one day Alyce will realize what a horrible mistake she's made. What really pains me is there are so many people out there sticking up for Jodi and trashing Travis, someone who truly doesn't deserve it, to take the side of his remorseless murderer. Sometimes life is just so cruel. At least some form of justice was done though.

Yep. Slow past few days.

Couldn't get in for about 15 minutes starting about 4:50 p.m. today. Must be glitches.

Who issued a subpoena? State or defense? If it was State, it could be ALV, she basically made herself one with the "journal" stuff, and lack of knowledge of anything else to do with the case.
