This is a double post, also posted on the random thoughts thread, but today is my parents 57 th wedding anniversary. Married as teens and still going strong. I love my parents.

That's so awesome. My dad passed away when I was 13, so my mom didn't have as many years with him as she would have liked. He was only 40 years old and had a massive coronary due to hardening of his major arteries to the heart. She never ever saw another man or remarried. It was such a lonely life for her after we left the nest. :(

Miss Daisy I would also love to have you over for dinner. :seeya: This is a new recipe so I hope hubby likes it. I've never cooked butternut squash before. It is really hard to peel.

You'll love the squash1 Sure wish I was closer. :)
I just had corn dogs, fresh yellow corn boiled and fried yellow squash. Corn muffins would have been good. :floorlaugh:

YESorNO, you come for dinner too. I insist.

It would be such a hoot to sit down with you fine ladies for a good chinwag. I love you all!

Evening, my princess :seeya:
I never peel the butternut squash. I cut it in 1/2 and put it in a roasting pan with a little water and add pats of butter in the cored, empty part and put it in the oven 'til cooked. I also sprinkle sugar when the squash is a most done. It comes out nicely glazed and tastes delicious. (I never made mashed squash- where you would have to peel- too much work for me :floorlaugh:).

Evening YorN. Thanks for the tips. I will try that.

What is going on with your Internet that you can only post for such a short time? I miss you around here. :(

Because the IP (my internet Gestopo carrier :stormingmad:) monitors our "usage" and if we go over a certain amount they start slowing us down and if we don't stop using the internet, they will cut us off. This is because we have satellite and their Fair Access Policy :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Statement as to why WildBlue has a Fair Access Policy:
"To ensure equal Internet access for all subscribers, we maintain a fair access policy. Fair access establishes an equitable balance in Internet access across the WildBlue Services by service plan for all WildBlue customers regardless of their frequency of use or volume of traffic. To ensure this equity, you may experience some temporary throughput limitations. WildBlue Internet access is not guaranteed. “
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
They send a USAGE ALERT when we get to about 70% and start slowing us down :stormingmad:. I'm at about 75% right now (my son uses the internet, too)- so we are not good yet.
I hate satellite and can't wait to move to my son's land next year- they have cable. I pay the highest "usage" allowed right now for the internet and it's lots of $$$, so that's why I can't stay and have to limit myself now.
that's the storyyyyyyyyyyy :violin:  :crying:

I'm lucky (??), I guess, that we have the internet here in the sticks, but I hate satellite :stormingmad: :stormingmad: :stormingmad:

Wow, YoN, I'm glad that I don't have your internet plan. That sounds awful and expensive.

I cook it the same way but add cinnamon with the sugar! That's the way my mom did it ... lots of butter and sugar before going into the oven.

Has anybody gotten a strange screen just after hitting the post button saying something like your comment is being posted now and something about a poll? It had the same background/page layout as WS, but it was strange to see.

Evening, sis :seeya:
You cooked!!!!! :floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh: yes I boiled water for corn (hard task), threw frozen corn dogs in the oven (not as hard as boiling water) and fried some squash (messy and time consuming).

Boiled peanuts for dessert shortly.

I have satellite for my TV viewing (different provider) and if you watch the TV on one station for more than 2 hours, they shut the satellitte off and you have to press a button to put it on again :stormingmad:- really bad if you are watching something like Gone With The Wind :stormingmad: :stormingmad: :okay: :anguish:

Yes, and my browser will not close and cookies, cache not clearing. I need to stop posting my theories all over the board anyway. Not making any friends that way.

Don't know what is up, guess Admin knows.

I'm out, before the lights are turned off! :floorlaugh:

P.S. Butternut squash soup is good too, if you like soup. Google it.

I can't wait for the time when the only time I cook is to press the microwave button. :floorlaugh: I happen to like TV dinners (remember them?).

I post these kind of things if I haven't seen anyone else comment, just in case the admins don't know...my daddy always told me don't assume because when you assume you make an 🤬🤬🤬 out of you and me.

HLN had the baby pandas on today and I got to see them firsthand.:heartbeat: They are so beautiful. They said that the pandas belong to China and someday will go back. :tears:
