I'm a food snob, so can't say I ever ate a TV dinner. Used to whip up gourmet meals until I had a child who was a fussy eater. Now I'm just lazy, but I still like good food. The grill gets used a lot because there are few pots and pans to clean. Put together a nice sauce or marinade, throw veggies and a protein on the grill and I'm good to go.

I'm sick of cooking and all the clean-up involved. I want someone else to cook for me (I want my mommy :floorlaugh:).
My mother cooked and you ate- that's it!!!
She carried a big wooden spoon :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:
She was a tough lady. She cooked all day and you ate- whether you wanted it or not :scared: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

I have a story about food and kids:
My maternal Grandmother (who came from Italy) made lunch for me one afternoon- maybe I was about 7?. My mother wasn't home. I didn't want to eat it and she made me sit there until I finally ate it- a long time :scared: She was just as tough as my Mom. :floorlaugh:
I tried this with my older son when he was about the same age and, the GD kid didn't eat it at all- he just sat at the table until it was time for bed (hours after). :stormingmad: I was disgusted it didn't work for me :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Because the IP (my internet Gestopo carrier :stormingmad:) monitors our "usage" and if we go over a certain amount they start slowing us down and if we don't stop using the internet, they will cut us off. This is because we have satellite and their Fair Access Policy :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Statement as to why WildBlue has a Fair Access Policy:
"To ensure equal Internet access for all subscribers, we maintain a fair access policy. Fair access establishes an equitable balance in Internet access across the WildBlue Services by service plan for all WildBlue customers regardless of their frequency of use or volume of traffic. To ensure this equity, you may experience some temporary throughput limitations. WildBlue Internet access is not guaranteed. “
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
They send a USAGE ALERT when we get to about 70% and start slowing us down :stormingmad:. I'm at about 75% right now (my son uses the internet, too)- so we are not good yet.
I hate satellite and can't wait to move to my son's land next year- they have cable. I pay the highest "usage" allowed right now for the internet and it's lots of $$$, so that's why I can't stay and have to limit myself now.
that's the storyyyyyyyyyyy :violin:  :crying:

That sucks. My Internet provider offers "unlimited" Internet. As long as you're not downloading lots of movies and stuff, no limits. My Internet comes through my phone line though, not satellite.

I hope you get it straightened out soon, so you can spend more time with us.

HLN had the baby pandas on today and I got to see them firsthand.:heartbeat: They are so beautiful. They said that the pandas belong to China and someday will go back. :tears:

WOW I missed that :( They are beautiful. they will get named when they are 100 days old. It's true they will go back but I don't understand either. They are here on loan. Lun Lun has other children at the Atlanta zoo also .. her last son Po. He's so handsome. Take a look over there Zooatlanta.com
Fun to watch their birthday parties. And new arrivals. A baby rhino was born a week or so ... and they sure are ugly!

I'll be over... I'm not picky :)

I think that my parents argued over this one, but came to an agreement.

With five kids, they could not possibly cater to food whims. The deal was each child got to choose one "inedible". When that food was served, the kid did not have to eat it. As for everything else, we ate family style. Whatever you put on your plate, you had to eat. You at least had to take a spoonful of everything but your inedible.

It was a pretty good solution. Except my mother always combined two foods that I hated (some weird sausage and canned creamed corn) in the same meal. I was stuck because I was gonna gag on one of them. The sausage ended up being my inedible.

We kids had to be strategic...you might really really really hate something, but if it was only served once a year, you might be better off choosing something that you only really, really hated that was served once a month.

Poor sister got stuck sitting at the table crying for four hours trying to gag down scallops. She gambled and choose something different, but that one night she had to sit there. My mom finally just sent her up to bed without any dinner.

I like everything! (Almost)
My parents said, "you don't have to eat anything you don't like, but you must try it"

I told my son the same, he eats anything... And i do mean ANYTHING! Even gross stuff like muscles, octopus and snails!!!

My husband had parents that you had to sit until finished. That man still will not eat a single vegetable!

hahahahha.......:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Ok, just to defend Miley a little bit, if you watch the video closely, you'll see that she doesn't actually touch her butt to Robin's groin area...it's still a couple of inches away....lol. And also for the kissing motion on his neck, I notice d she was like kissing the air close to neck and made sure she wasn't actually touching his neck. So I think it was all just performance, just like in the movies no one says nothing if two actors are kissing, no one talks about their wives and what their wives or husbands will think....it's all part of the act.

Just my two cents, plink, plink. :twocents:

Hi, its the same in my house! My son (I told the same as you) ate everything but liver, beets, anything gross smelling (his wifes I didnt) Amy and Johnny ill not eat any vegtables. He at least eats some fruit. Little one?, just like 'em!! GGGRRRRRR!!!:banghead:

My mom was pretty clever when it came to food.

When we were young teenagers, there were regular Saturday night dances within walking distance in our small town.

Looking back, I have to laugh that she used to serve us hot dogs and beans on those dance nights. It was her way of trying to prevent us from slow dancing. :floorlaugh:

It did work...toot, toot, toot!
