What? Nobody liked my anesthesia notes? I had to remember all that for nothing? I am hurt. So hurt. LOL

I liked your notes! I was a Certified Coding Specialist (Cert. from AHIMA) for years and had to assign CPT codes for all the different kinds of anesthesia. Drove me nuts..

there there, now, feeling better?

Thank you my fun flower. I just wanted to add something to the conversation.. Sigh...

WOW tennis will be awesome tomorrow. Oldies are playing: Martina, Everet, McEnroe, Seles, Austin and more!!

I shall be in front of the TV all day and evening I suppose. :floorlaugh:

There will be wheelchair games, too, but not sure if they'll be on TV but maybe online.

Anyone but me interested?

Oh yes. I like making a racquet. Actually, that would be fun to see!

I also just read recently that autism has been linked to induced labor. Maybe that explains the increase of autism in higher income births.

My grandson has Aspergers and was born spontaneously six weeks early to fifteen year old girl. He has a half brother with Autism and PPD. Their mother has a half brother who has PPD. So I lean more towards it being genetic because of his mothers side of the family.

Aspergers is a higher functioning form of Autism. I have a mini Shedon Cooper. He doesn't like his back exposed in a room. He sits with the wall next to him to feel safe. His mother beat him ,and would put him a toybox during court ordered visitation, and told him she could come get him anytime she wanted.

He eats hot dogs, and they have to be in pairs or sets of three. He does eat smack ramen and hamburgers with no vegetables (he calls them natures poison). He's very protective of "his" food. He wasn't fed during those visits, but she would fed them when she was bringing them back home.

He liked his new step father, ( his mother is extremely abusive if the focus isn't on her) but his mother called him df, stupid and a moron, and he let it happen. He didn't stop her from hurting him and calling him names, and my grandson had no one he could trust or depend on.

My granddaughter will be sixteen in fifteen hours. Her mother was eighteen when she was born.

My son was given laughing gas at the dentist when he broke his front tooth in half. He had this silly looking piggy nose thingy on his nose and he was belting out that bible song Deep & Wide at the top of his lungs. They couldn't get him to stop! Lol

Mine is 19, and cusses like a pro when going under the anesthetic LoL. When he had his wisdom teeth out last year they put him under, and I went in the room with him. My face was red and I apologized to all of his care givers, but they were so professional and said it was normal. Today he outdid himself with the anesthesiologist. Cursed like a drunken sailor. I was so relieved when they put me in the waiting room! You're lucky yours was singing bible songs!!

Very much appreciated Zuri. I've been a bit distracted today LoL. Pampering my son after his surgery, and making sure he's okay. :seeya:

Me too! That anesthesia was nasty back then.
Now we have general: Patient is intubated, ventilated, sedated throughout procedure and deep sleep; amnestic to surgery
MAC: Monitored Anesthesia Care: Propofol Drip ( Michael Jackson drug),
IV Sedation : Typically Fentenyl given
Blocks: Usually for limbs; nerves blocked so as to no pain perception
Epidural : Form of a block given through the epidural space around L1 and L2 disc space; catheter left in place to redose medication
Spinal: similar to Epidural, but medication is injected into spinal fluid. Good choice for elderly patients requiring shorter acting anesthesia
Local: Lidocaine injected at injury site (numbing agent) like for stitiches

Do you remember going to take a spitz bath and you thought it would hurt like the blazes, and you're surprised at how good it felt? Then they had that heat lampy thing that they put under the covers to "dry" your stitches?

Women in America took longer to heal than the women in England during WW2 and the bombings. They said getting up and moving help their recovery faster, than the American women who were told to rest for six weeks.

Hi Zuri, I had my tonsils out at 27yrs. talk about pain! I didnt go to sleep. I had a specialist who didnt give adults an anesthetic, said you bled more. He loaded me with sleeping pills and of course novocaine. I was wide awake, too scared to sleep. The back of my throat had to be cut as tissue was so bad. My reg. DR. kept saying they didnt have to come out. Specialist fiercely disagreed. It was three weeks before I could even eat mashed potatoes. All stitched up!! OMG did that hurt!!!:please:

Hope everyone is doing well...I've been hanging out on the Word Game thread here for awhile and need HELP !!! I feel like I'm playing with myself...Once in awhile, Scarlett, Kensi, and a few others show up to help, but we need your help over there...Magnolia especially needs help with the long word games replacing one letter to make a word...
