I'm getting worried. My son went to NYC at 2:00 this afternoon and he hasn't called yet- 5 hour drive :scared: he was suppose to call me when he got there.
maybe he forgot (with his ADD he forgets a lot).
I'm going to call him soon- hate to call if he's still on the road. :scared:

I'd call now if you haven't already. No matter how old our children become, they will always be our children and with that comes caring about them and sometimes worry. I've told my son as long as we both are alive, he will always be my son.

He's probably forgotten and until you talk to him, you won't be able to put your mind at ease.

it's like that book "I'll Love you forever" I read it to the kids all the time... "i'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be" makes me cry

:nevermind: I called and he FORGOT He arrived at about 7:00 or so. I'm going to :slap: him when he comes home on Sunday to make me worry :scared: I'm afraid the worry never ends- even when the dopes are older :sigh:

:tyou: all.

I love that book. I read it to my kids almost 20 years ago now. And it always made me cry too.

When that book first came out, I bought it for all my family and special friends for Christmas. They just loved it. My older son just sent it to me(again) this year. It was a special message for me because my son is saying he will take care of me when I can no longer. We'll see

So glad he's okay YorN. I'm glad you called and can stop worrying now. No, the worry will never end. They are always and forever your child.

My birthday is July 20 and I did not like having a summer birthday. As a kid, it was hard to have a birthday party with friends because of summer vacations. It seemed as if no one was around.

Mid July tends to be hot and very humid here, so that the frosting would literally slide off my birthday cake. :(

My mom started making peach shortcake as my birthday cake...not because I liked it, but because fresh peaches were in season and it would be a treat for everyone.

I do like summer and will be sad to see it go. I'm enjoying listening to the crickets and screech owls as long as I can.

Hey there everyone,

My birthday is the day after yours.

OK, I am excited. I have an interview on Monday for a job I did not apply to. It is part time, temporary and may or may not lead into full time. The CEO called me and said he found my resume online. The job is local. He said they are swamped with paper work that needs to be filed, scanned and organized. I have never scanned but I can't imagine it being difficult to learn quickly. Wish me luck. After not working for a year and a half, this could be a start.

Jon-Benet Ramsey News:

Now, almost 17 years later, the case is still open and still remains a mystery. However, new information has been released regarding the parents in the case and has lead to a lawsuit. Daily Camera reporter, Charlie Brennan and the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press have sued the Boulder County District Attorney, Stan Garnett on Wednesday. They are requesting the release of an apparent indictment that was secretly voted on by the grand jury in the case in 1999.

“The plaintiffs believe… that the indictment is a criminal justice record that reflects official action by the grand jury, and accordingly that it is subject to mandatory disclosure upon request,” attorney Thomas B. Kelley wrote. “Alternatively, they argue the indictment should be disclosed to the public because such disclosure would serve the public interest in government transparency and not be contrary to the public interest nor cause undue adverse effect upon the privacy of the individual.”

Yay!

Scanning is just like photocopying...most of the copy machines now have scanners built right into them. If you know how to use a copy machine, you'll be able to scan no problem.

Hope that puts your mind at ease.

You go, girl! I wish you the best of luck.

Oh that's great Ricki! Scanning is no more difficult than photocopying. My fingers are crossed for you!

JonBenet's case is one that continues to stay with me. I pray for justice for that little girl, but the case has grown so cold. I haven't visited her thread for a long time now, and it makes me sad. No news, and probably never a resolution to her murder. Unless someone confesses, and I doubt that will ever happen. That was a case that would have been solved "close to home" had the investigation not been so botched.

Thank you. Glad to hear the scanner, if I should land this job, will be no problem. The man sound very nice and he sounded flustered. It sounds like there is tons of paper work that needs to be organized.
Today, I took a city test. I don't know how I did. It was not hard, but everything was timed. Not enough time to finish. 2 minutes for one section, 4 minutes for another. You have to be in the top 10 to get a interview. Good job, good pay for the lucky one that gets it. I won't know if I passed for 3 weeks.

That seems to be the way it goes for so many of these children.

Here's the new thread for the lawsuit, Princess.
