This is the last news from October 29 that I know of. Most likely- no resolution this year, IMO: :seeya:

And there's this:

Thank you YESorNO for your reply and the links. Appreciated. The articles explain a lot, that is, how they have managed to draw it out for so long . Sounds like a complicated and time consuming process. The sale of her artwork? She is a convicted killer! How is it that she is able to generate an income from jail to fund her future appeals? Guess we'll have to wait until 2014.

no idea if this is news or not but straight from juans mouth at the chrisman hearing just now

@TrialDivasJ 1m Juan says a Jan 27th retrial will conflict with #JodiArias since they plan on Dec jury selec & Jodi trial 2 beg 1st of Jan #RichardChrisman

Hey Nore, hope you cousin is okay.

----------
Thank you Kensie. I really dont know yet but things look a bit better than they did a couple of days ago. They evacuated most of the people to a govt. building before the storm hit so I think that is good. This has to be horrible. They still have dead bodies laying all over. Even A.Cooper said the stench is terrible. Why she moved to a third world country is beyond me. They always have a hard time handling things. Many houses are just tin shacks! I'm waiting for Syria, afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, to send aid. :scared: the only place I would go is Canada, England, or Ireland!! :floorlaugh:

Nore, so sorry that your cousin is having to deal with all this tragedy. I am like you, I would only move to a country that is not third world. I cannot imagine how horrible things must be on a daily basis in a third world country and then to have this tragedy happen. God Bless them.

Nore, I hope your cousin and her husband are okay.

I've spent the last three days trying to help an Australian family get news of their father who lives in Guiuan. This city of 50K was where Yolanda made landfall in the Philippines. They got word overnight that he is alive, but nothing more. City has been leveled, 85 dead, over 900 injured with no communication system. Aid is just beginning to trickle into the area by air. Looks like Doctors Without Borders sent in a person today with a team to follow tomorrow.

I am very, very concerned that food, water, shelter and medical aid may not reach people in time.

Every life is precious. Every minute counts. Time is of the essence.

Thank you gcharlie. I saw that name somewhere! CNN has about the best internet coverage on this. Supplies are coming into Cebu and distributed from there. The airports were blown away and had to be cleaned up before planes could land. 'm sad to say I know people will die from dehydration.
A weird thing happened last evening. I was on my FB. reading checking for a message when to the side where ads appear a picture of my cousin popped up &
said "how well do you know E---G-----. before I could even get there it just faded away. I could not find it....weird to say the least. :seeya:

Just to let you know - and I posted on the Trial thread - from ACandyRose post on FB (my bold below!):
Juan says the retrial date for Jodi Arias is TENTATIVE......it may change...... but for now jury selection begins in December.

Having said that, if the Jodi Arias trial DOES begin on this schedule the Chrisman trial would have to be reset to accommodate the JA trial. So.....this is the FIRST that we've heard of a 'window date' for Jodi Arias' penalty phase of her trial. As we all know......anything can happen and postponements are a huge possibility in the courts.

:great:

Finally! :skip:

and still... :waiting: on Tricia; she sent an email to PrincessSezMe, but I guess she hasn't heard back yet - that was on Nov. 11th :waitasec: :(

Good to see all are okay here. (Except Princess not checking in.) Sad about all in the Philippines. Just so much of that in the news the last few years. I wish there was a way to swoop in and scoop entire areas of people up and to safer ground before it happens.

Finally, a potential date set for this case. Better than knowing nothing at all.

Oh, love all the holiday links being posted. I'll watch this weekend, I love stuff like that. Watched the MacNeill trial videos this past weekend, so didn't have time.

At least it is all sorted out when Thanksgiving is. Next count down is to Christmas.

Seems so contrary to post all that after reading about loved ones in the Philippines.

Just wanted to say hello to all, and some of us are still checking in every morning to see what is going on.

BBM Life goes on, merc.

I'm very sorry about Nore's cousin and the devastation in the Philippines. My heart goes out to them.

“There will always be suffering. But we must not suffer over the suffering.” - Alan Watts

I learned that when JFK died, when 9/11 happened, when my son, John-Patrick and my parents died (and all the residents I took care of at the nursing home where I worked).
There will always be something.
(has anyone watched the Showtime program "Time Of Death"? A very informative and heartbreaking show.) :

And then there are these words from an old lady in NYC, on the words that her dying husband said, on this video:

If people do not want me to post the holiday YTubes, please let me know and I will stop.

I did want to post this tribute to Travis:

Hi YesorNo, you want the Christmas spirit? I changed my avatar. Our house after one of our "Lake Erie" snowstorms. It was 7 or 8 inches of white carp!!! :banghead: :loveyou:

I take it no news on a date for the final hearing yet!

--------
Hi Fuskier, this is ridiculous! how can one 1st degree murderer cause a trial to drag on so. I think we have all had it with her. She's going to prison one sentence or the other so why go thru all this because of DP.? No appeal is ever going to get her off after what she did to Travis. Put her in for LWOP and have it over with. We dont always get what we want in life. I know you will agree, think everyone does. Enough is enough. :banghead:

Nore the snow! I haven't seen that much since I moved away from home many years ago. Thank you for sharing. :)

Thank you YorN for the videos, and Alan Watts quote. And, don't stop posting Holiday fun. That is my vote. But, I will be here reading on the holidays and watching videos after the phone calls, so I may vote a bit differently than most.

At least we know the sentencing phase will not be during the holidays, so all that will not be darkening our thoughts, and we can hold it off until January. I kind of like that idea.

While I couldn't sleep last night I had a thought about Sandy and Bill Arias and their filing for bankruptcy, and I wonder if they're trying to evade a lawsuit by the Alexanders for failing to get Jodi help when they both knew she had mental issues even had friends calling telling them Jodi needed help? Just thoughts that go thoughts going through your head during the night.

That was my first thought when it was first posted about. Sad but true.

How lovely your house looks with the snow. :loveyou:

Run over to the Macneill thread- the jurors are finally speaking out about the verdict!!! :drumroll:

Never mind, I'll post the websites here for you (but make sure you check the thread for poster's comments):

I think a lot of people in the law are jealous of him.

"Felony prosecutor Juan Martinez is despised by many defense attorneys, mainly because he relentlessly plays hardball on the job. He rarely plea bargains, seemingly is always in trial, prepares his cases meticulously, and usually wins.

No matter what Martinez's adversaries may think of him personally or professionally, though, no one could ever righteously accuse him of being lazy..."

The Arias and Chrisman trials are both big ones. I hope that Juan is not so personally invested in each case that he is unwilling to let another prosecutor take the reins of one trial so that they can both move forward.

It goes without saying that i would like to see him continue on the Arias trial and hand over Chrisman to someone else.

AS for CMJA and her family, the s*** that was supposed to hit the fan sure fizzled out fast. Bankruptcy filings are through federal court and it appears as if the lookup system is on a fee basis. I'm not willing to shell out the money to find out if any family members have filed or not. There has been no news of her father's restaurant closing, but there was a Daddy O's Diner in Halifax, Nova Scotia that closed its doors in October. It also had a 1950's theme...made me wonder if this was a PR stunt to tweet the news with an entirely different restaurant closing?

Media has slammed CMJA on her art sales and it sounds like both the jail and the prosecutor's office are fed up with her behavior and attitude. If her art sales are any indication of support for her appeal, she must not have raised much money yet. After a month, she's only sold 34 "limited edition" prints with 66 more to go.
