BBM IMO, Travis wanted Dan Freeman and his sister to act as his chaperon. This is not unusual in the Mormon church. I should know, I was raised Mormon and so was my husband. We were taught to avoid the appearance of evil. When my husband's oldest brother was dating his future wife, his mother insisted that a younger brother (there was five to choose from) go along on their dates as a chaperone. The brother that needed a chaperone had already served his mission and was an adult but he was still living at home.

Did he want to continue doing these kinky things, obviously not because he tried to get her out of his life so he could get back on track keeping in line with his religion. I also think her plans started much sooner than when she was back in Yreka even if it were nothing more than her own fantasy at the time. jmo

I agree, I think going back to Yreka was part of her plan because she thought it would make it look like she was "over" Travis, and because she thought she could get away with his murder if she was far away and no longer in Mesa. Which means she probably had hatched the plans with the gas cans , etc, that early on as well. I think all the tire slashing just whetted her appetite, she enjoyed it but it wasn't enough, and soon after that is when she started seriously planning to kill him and how she would do it. :moo:

I thought it was an interesting take that the guest on Dr Drew had of JA , that JA has the characteristics of a cult leader, think Charles Manson. I had already believed she has the makings of a serial killer, but hadn't thought of her in that way before. The transcript is somewhere, I'll try to find it.

I agree with much of what you say, except imo JA has absolutely no capacity for love. For her, it's all about controlling and possessing, competing and, more than anything else, winning.

In the end, if she really loved Travis, she would have let him go, would not have committed this horrendous crime, would not have taken his life. She is a demented, depraved, sick, evil monster, and there's just no love that's going to come from a thing like that. jmo

I agree. Jodi had no capacity for love, unless it was for her own benefit.

Travis is right. She did scam him and everyone else. She runs and blames people once they figure out her true colors, which IMO is black.

I'm tired of people calling Travis a ! Yes he slept with Jodi while he was trying to be a good Mormon, but so what??? The only one who got hurt was Jodi, and she deserved every mean thing he ever said about her. Travis was trying to end the sex with her and settle down with one woman. Jodi kept luring him back with sex. He was only human.

Didn't JA also keep threatening to kill hersself if Travis didn't respond to her needs and wants? I would imagine this would start driving him crazy w/this type of behaviour.
He couldn't get away from her...poor guy.
She is cra-cra for sure, in all kinds of ways. imo.

We have this Frank Sinatra tune on one of his really early recordings. His voice sounds quite different to me back then but I really like it, very smooth.... and this song in particular.

One unfortunate thing, is that for some reason when I hear it I think of JA. Maybe because I'm thinking that if she were just somewhat of a normal person, Travis would still be alive today. Instead, she was completely unable to accept the normal rejections that go along with life, and unable to accept what goes along with being a part of this world that we all live in. One more reason, besides the fact that she's a danger to society in general, that she has to remain behind bars for the rest of her life, or worse.

Oh, btw, if you don't care for the instrumentals, just go forward to about 1:45 to hear Frank. Don't you just love him ?
