Was over at Michael Dunn thread and had to leave, getting very heated.

Umm yah, I have that thread bookmarked, not really following the trial though.
I am immersed in Amanda Hayes right now.
However, I remember how it got here with Zimmerman, I kind of had the feeling this trial was going to evolve into a similar situation among WS'ers.
I am going to be honest and say I think Dunn should be found guilty. I only know the basics of the case so maybe I am wrong.
I do not have a clue how things are going in the thread, but I know when "stand your ground" comes into the picture it all evolves into gun rights. And when it gets to that there can be no discussion, very black and white issue to people.
In any event, I kind of think I will wait to read the thread until AFTER it's all been said and done.

ETA- He is using "Stand your ground" as a defense, isn't he? I am going to feel very ignorant if that is not the case

I need to go read about amanda Hayes even though I find her totally disgusting. I feel the same way about the lowlife killer JA.

No, he is claiming self defense. It was only one poster who inflamed things. Pretty much, everyone on there is in agreement that he is guilty. :seeya:

Thanks Zuri.
Well, glad most are in agreement on that one at least.
Perhaps I will venture in tomorrow since Hayes will have a snow day and court will be dark.

LOL! That's why I quit the thread last night. I don't need that sort of aggravation.

BTW, Central Va and we were supposed to have 9-12" of snow and possibly rain/sleet.

12 hours since the snow started and we already have 9" of snow and, from listening, I can tell it's now mixed with sleet. We have approximately 12 more hours before the storm abates.

This is the first snowy winter for my 2 one-year-old kittens and they are both apparently snow lovers. I have the door to my well-roofed screen porch open and they are tearing around the house and out onto the deck and back. This is the second storm this year where snow is coming on the deck floor all over a bit. This is the first time in 14 years that's happened!

Snowing here too, now. They say 2 to 3 inches per hour with a totaling up to 14 inches by Friday AM. My 25 year old is not home and not answering texts. I swear she is a secret agent. Never tells us a thing. Anyhow, it doesn't mater that she is an adult, I still worry. Why can't she understand that?

We have about 2 inches. Waiting for it to melt before I leave for work.

My 22 yr Ole's don't either -- hate it when they ignore texts

She just texted and said "I am coming home" that's it. Still do not where she is coming from or if that means she is on her way now. Still worried b/c the roads are very, very snowy. The snow is not letting up and her car is not 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive and we live in the hills. So, if she is not back in an hour or so I will panic.
Do these kids do this on purpose? My other kids even though they do not live here, will tell me where they are and if they are OK. They have been known to panic if they don't know where dad or I are. Completely different from the 25 yr old, who is the youngest.

If this was my daughter and she asserted that she was an adult, where she thinks she can do as she pleased and not inform me of things she is doing!
I would tell her go live as an adult in your own place. I just hate waiting and worrying about my children.

That's just it. They don't have any concept on how we still worry and probably will until we are gone. They will only realize this when they have their own kids, at least that is my hope. She is responsible in every other way, except this. I don't get what the big secret is.

No offense to my friends in the South (I understand that southern states aren't equipped for this weather), but I saw this on Facebook and just had to share. Made me giggle.

:rotfl: How true.... I live in the south so I know, lol. Just for example, we had a forecast of possible "wintry mix" for Monday and Tuesday. I didn't pay that much attention to it until I went to the grocery store on Monday afternoon. It was swarming with people and they were backed up at the registers, stocking up like they were going to be snowed in for a month. What is it about Saltine crackers anyway, they were completely gone except for the weird ones, i.e., whole wheat, unsalted, and the store brand, :giggle:. Anyway, wouldn't have gone then if I had only realized because I hate being in the store when it's crowded. It just makes me really nervous, but it struck me as so funny I had to laugh, which made me feel a tiny bit better, :floorlaugh:

Lol, that is hilarious. I grew up mid East Coast. We went to work regardless the amount of snow.

I now live a tad further south, and good grief! A snow plow even tipped today, lucky there even is one. There may be about 4 for a large and heavily populated area. It cracks me up.

When I first moved here I was shocked. Businesses, churches, hospitals, residents, no one shovels sidewalks - so there is an icy mess for days. Most everything shuts down, except pharmacies, grocery, and bars. People cannot drive slowly, they don't know they should. Nothing, nothing, nothing, is plowed but the highway. They may put some sand down near the hospital, but forget your side streets. The city claims it is budget and rarity, but it snows every year and complicates driving. Guess they figure you should walk.

Oh yes. All the grocery stores sell out, at least 3 days in advance via news notice, of: milk, eggs, white bread (yuck), and dried navy beans. I always wonder if stores stock extra peanut butter so it stays on the shelf, and how on earth is everyone cooking beans when the power goes out. Not everyone has a gas stove. It cracks me up!

Don't forget the college students in either a cute poly dress and cowboy boots and a vest (or even high heels), or, believe it or not, flip flops. Oh to be that young again, the stupid I still have, but maybe not that bad. Or perhaps I only see them on the way to work and they are on the walk of shame. Lol.

Any allergy sufferers out there, Nasacort is now in drug stores, without a prescription!

I'll await Zuri's thoughts, if she chooses.

We got snow and ice last night and this morning. Right now we are having lots of late summer sounding booming lightening! Weird time of year, but a lovely sound. Well, unless you are a little furry, or are afraid of thunder.

I live in the great white north. Yesterday my husband was walking to work and saw a guy out busking. With a steel guitar and no gloves. It was -15 C (5 F), and windy. :floorlaugh:
