Don't throw tomatoes at me, but DeLaRosa is just doing her job, so she got a bit carried away with what she was taking out of the jail:naughty:but she drew the short straw on this case.
As far as the "dress code" in Court out here, there really is no rhyme or reason to what lawyers, and the court staff wear.
I've been at court hearings and trials where the lawyers have worn cowboy boots, leather vests with pressed work shirts and Wrangler Jeans. Had 2 situations where the opposing attorneys look like they slept in their clothes, (1 man, 1 woman) both suit type get ups. Other female attorneys with slits up the side of their dresses that go close to beyond the pale and plunging necklines that are minimally covered by a jacket.:scared:
And some people just look "frumpy" no matter what they wear, while others will look great wearing a potato sack!:floorlaugh:
I think DeLaRosa is compensating for her height, for one thing, her shoes don't look like they're just "off the rack"...........Imelda Marcos eat your heart out! :floorlaugh: And there's the "cultural" aspect with the crosses- Hispanic, Catholic. But one could surmise DeLaRosa is "all dressed up and no where to go"...

Wish someone would give Wilmont a makeover..........another "shorty" who could use more of a "Power" look, more "Polish". She's always hit me as someone who's just "playing" a lawyer, not actually "being" a lawyer.
Nurmi? Someone needs to get him to a tailor for his suits, and his mom needs to be behind him in the court to tell him to sit up straight!

Juan has it right, take pride in your job and appearance. He probably got that from his immigrant mother. 'Nuf said.

makes me think of the movie 'My Cousin Vinny'. One of my favorite movies.

I messed with the contrast and brightness and resized to try to make it more legible, still isn't perfect.

Here's one for you--:snowball:.... :floorlaugh:

You are correct about how some people dress and DeLaRosa doing her job, but we shouldn't be talking about how they look because of the WS rules, anyway...:tos: (although it's kinda fun and I am guilty, also ).
About her job- what the heck is her job? I thought it was helping her not get the DP and find mitigating factors to help missy :jail:- must be a hard and lonely job.- since missy :jail: doesn't have many. :floorlaugh:

(And there's nothing wrong with being "short"!! I am short, but powerful!!!- just go ask the people I managed on Wall St..:floorlaugh:..)

From Sedona.......Fires are starting up right before the Memorial Day Weekend. I knew I smelled smoke this morning! Can see the smoke to the East, very bad place to have a fire. Very steep canyons, and lots of trees and foliage where it's burning. We have wind gusts upwards of 35 mph + and the morning isn't over yet!
Hopefully, rain Thursday and Friday, but that brings lightning strikes. :scared:

OMG!!! You smell smoke?? How far are you from the fires? :scared:

And lightening, too? That could start a fire!

(and my son wants to live in a state with fires there :scared:)

I have been lurking on the Oscar Pistorius forum since the start of the trial. I am amazed at the number of WS'ers from the UK, Australia, South Africa and other countries who were addicted to the JA trial like we were. They are still talking about it tool Additionally, Juan is an international hit! He has admiration and respect all over the world. I'm glad he is OUR "Media Darling".

27 miles as the crow flies. Talked to my son this morning, and when they were driving back from town last night, they could see flames coming from red rocks of Sedona that we can see to the East.
It's now around 900 acres, and the smoke is stretching from Sedona to beyond Flagstaff, I can't even see the San Francisco peaks.
We're West of the canyons and the fire is headed North towards Flag, but the winds here change constantly. If you head North from Slide Rock, in Sedona, it's a straight shot up through the canyon on narrow switchbacks up to the edge of Flagstaff, and then there's nothing to really stop the flames. If it's not contained in the canyon, it's going to be bad.

Fire officials report no containment of the fire.

But Capt. Bill Morse of the Flagstaff Fire Department and the Southwest Coordination Center showed reporters a map of the area spelling out a worst-case scenario where the fire could have tripled in size overnight.

Morse said 15 additional Hotshot crews, 10 additional fire crews and 40 fire engines were being called to the fire.

That was on top of the five Hotshot crews and a top-level fire management team that were scheduled to arrive Wednesday to help 200 personnel, two Hotshot crews, two helicopters, one air attack, four engines, two water tenders, Sedona firefighters and a fuels crew already on the fire.

Post the pics?
Or adjust Brightness and Contrast?

Usually adjusting brightness and contrast is within the "Color" tab of Paint or Photoshop type programs, it depends which you have (I still use an old program, I used to work within it a lot making graphic type things, and I just am getting too old to adjust to new programs ).
I really did not do a great job, I was in a hurry to pop it on here as I had to leave the house for a bit.

Posting the pics I just did the "tinypic" thing and also just attached the pic files from my PC in case anyone wanted to look at them larger.

Your funny, Bernina :floorlaugh:

No one trembles at me. :floorlaugh: I like the saying "Walk or speak softly, but carry a big stick". I think it was Theodore Roosevelt who said that- made a big impression on me. No need to boast or utter verbal threats, but be prepared for the consequences of whatever or something like that.

The Cashier- who was the big whig , above me on Wall St., in my company, said that I tend to admonish my "people" with one hand and comfort them with the other. Compassion is the "big stick" in my book and knowing that all people suffer together and have a need to be understood and helping each other in whatever way, is important to me (but I'm not a sap! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:).

(oh- shut-up, Y/N- always spouted stuff that no one wants to hear. Shut-up!!:blushing:)

Are you worried that your place will be harmed by the fires?

Getting dinner going now, will come back later and try to do some 'splainin (as Ricky would say :giggle: ).

Do you have some type of program on your PC that you open pictures in?
One that is more than a viewer, and lets you adjust things?

http://www.kpho.com/story/25570473/shifting-winds-fan-slide-fire-to-1000-acres

Aurgh! Was hanging out at my son's, talking "shop" and watching the winds shift the smoke. It's almost like watching the smoke from the Yarnell fire last year, winds are crazy today!

Air resources are battling wind and severe turbulence and all air drops were halted Wednesday afternoon. A super heavy DC-10 Air Tanker was scheduled to arrive at the fire later in the day.

(We actually saw the Air Tanker coming down through here on it's decent to the Prescott Airport, those planes are so awesome!)

Coconino National Forest officials sent a tweet during the noon hour that the wildfire is expected to grow to up to 2,000 acres by Wednesday night.

(Sedona is in Yavapai County, the upper canyon and Flagstaff is in Coconino County)

Fire officials report no containment of the fire.

In addition, Arizona Department of Corrections inmate fire crews are helping to battle the fire. Seventy-two inmate firefighters and 12 corrections supervisors are assisting in the multi-agency effort to contain the blaze.

Not concerned about where we are because it's still pretty much in the canyon, but if it leaps up over the west Rim..........if the wind turns West, we're talking a very fast moving range fire with Junipers popping, dry grasses and foliage heading this way.

 and forest, State Land Trust, and BLM fencelines everywhere full of a year's worth of dry tumble weeds.

Lowe said the newest concerns were that the fire would spill into Pumphouse Wash, where it could run north near Interstate 17 into Kachina Village, Mountainaire and Flagstaff and force even more evacuations.

Last night, pic from KPHO.

It's so sad, that canyon is so beautiful and it will take decades, if not a century to recover, all the wildlife.....If it sustains a lot of rain during monsoon season, the town of Sedona will be hit with mud slides and major flooding.

I was always shocked in how the people in court dressed. In Texas we'd of been told to go home and change. No jeans and vest, cowboy boots are accepted as normal. There was talk about men being able to take their suit jackets off back in the eighties during a heat wave; didn't go far.

And we'd never think of drinking in the courtroom. No chugging two liters of soda, no snacks, nothing.

Nurmi's mother needs to stand behind him and smack him every time he sticks his fingers up his nose. I felt sorry for the staple lady. I cringed every time he'd hand her something.

Bernina- Stay safe, I hope that it does not get close to where you are.

YoN- Do you know what program you have on your PC for picture editing? (Not sure if I can give you directions without knowing what program).

Everyone else...Hello :seeya:
