According to NIMH and the DSM, this is how BPD is diagnosed (and I think missy only has 2-possibly 3 - I *- of these symptoms- if any at all. Of course I am not an expert, but just giving an opinion from reading this- BPD is not a mental illness , but a personality disorder):
"Signs & Symptoms
According to the DSM, Fourth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR), to be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, a person must show an enduring pattern of behavior that includes at least five of the following symptoms:
*Extreme reactionsincluding panic, depression, rage, or frantic actionsto abandonment, whether real or perceived
*A pattern of intense and stormy relationships with family, friends, and loved ones, often veering from extreme closeness and love (idealization) to extreme dislike or anger (devaluation)
Distorted and unstable self-image or sense of self, which can result in sudden changes in feelings, opinions, values, or plans and goals for the future (such as school or career choices)
Impulsive and often dangerous behaviors, such as spending sprees, unsafe sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, and binge eating
*Recurring suicidal behaviors or threats or self-harming behavior, such as cutting
Intense and highly changeable moods, with each episode lasting from a few hours to a few days
Chronic feelings of emptiness and/or boredom
Inappropriate, intense anger or problems controlling anger
Having stress-related paranoid thoughts or severe dissociative symptoms, such as feeling cut off from oneself, observing oneself from outside the body, or losing touch with reality.

Now another view of BPD here:
"Specific Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder
A person with this disorder will also often exhibit impulsive behaviors and have a majority of the following symptoms:
*Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment
*A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation
Identity disturbance, such as a significant and persistent unstable self-image or sense of self
Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating)
*Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior
Emotional instability due to significant reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days)
Chronic feelings of emptiness
Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights)
Transient, stress-related paranoid thoughts or severe dissociative symptoms

An evaluation of BPD for missy"
"Does Jodi Arias Have Borderline Personality Disorder?
"So, according to the DSM IV criteria, Jodi Arias would come close to the borderline personality criterion IF we only consider her relationship with Alexander. But BPD is by definition a personality disorder. It generally starts in the teens and is seen over time with many people, in many situations and circumstances.
That is just not the case here "

I looked at most of the "disorders" here:
http://psychcentral.com/disorders/
And have come to my amateur conclusion that missy may have "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" more than BPD:
"Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder
In order for a person to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the following symptoms:
*Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
*Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
*Believes that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
Requires excessive admiration
*Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
*Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
*Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
*Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes"
IMO, I think she shows 6 symtoms for NPD (those I have starred).
http://psychcentral.com/disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder-symptoms/
Another view of NPD:
..."amoral/conscienceless--narcissists can't be counted on not to do something just because it's wrong, illegal, or will hurt someone, as long as they think that they can get away with it or that you can't stop them or punish them (amorality- amor·al adjective \(ˌā-ˈmȯr-əl, (ˌ
a-, -ˈmär-\
: having or showing no concern about whether behavior is morally right or wrong: (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/amoral) See chart which shows "amorality"- missy had a very high score- over 80+.
http://www.halcyon.com/jmashmun/npd/traits.html
She scored high on "ego inflation"- see chart below:
"coming across as overly self-important, an inflated sense of self..."
http://alumni.berkeley.edu/california-magazine/january-february-2006-chinafornia/ego-inflation
Carl Jung on the Pitfall of Ego-Inflation:
"In its mild and most common form, ego-inflation shows up as holier-than-thou attitudes and the mentality that My way is the only way. Of course, this degree of ego-inflation is not usually madness, but simple ignorance and naïvete, but displayed as arrogance. By contrast, the severest form of ego-inflation is actual psychosis: a runaway messianic complex that convinces you that you are a perfect embodiment of something special, called upon to deliver a unique gift that was unavailable to humanity before your miraculous birth."

Or maybe she's just a Female Psychopath:
"A woman whose extreme fear of abandonment leads her to periodic outbursts of rage over real or imagined transgressions, flips between seeing her significant other as either completely perfect or totally evil, or who has to constantly be the center of attention certainly isn't who we think of when we think of the classic psychopath. But she may be just as incapable of true empathy, and just as manipulative and deceitful, as the callous, unemotional male...(Callous. Unemotional. Lacking empathy. Aggressive. Impulsive. Acting without any regard for the welfare of others.)."

"Is Jodi Arias a Sociopath?
"Sociopath is the lay term for the psychiatric diagnosis called anti-social personality disorder. Below are the symptoms. With the understanding that I have not evaluated Jodi and that this is an opinion and not a diagnosis, lets run through them and see if she qualifies:
Failure to conform to societal norms:
Pathological lying
Manipulation, deception, and cunning
Impulsiveness
Irritability and aggressiveness
Reckless disregard for safety of self or others
Persistent irresponsibility:
Lack of remorse or guilt:
Before age 15 and continuing, a history of antisocial behavior
Jodi Arias, as you can see, fits the sociopath profile in many, many ways, except for the most important criteria. There is no past history. Based on this, unless there is much we do not know she does not technically meet the DSM IV criteria as a sociopath."
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/reading-between-the-headlines/201303/is-jodi-arias-sociopath
IMO, there's no previous history because no one's talking (from her past) and there's "much we do not know" about her life before Travis.
-------------------------------------------------------
This is DeMarte's explanation
("DeMarte discusses Jodi's unstable and intense interpersonal relationships, identity disturbance, suicidal behavior and ideation, affective instability, feelings of emptiness, and probably most significant to the case, "inappropriate intense anger...DeMarte testified that she does believe Jodi had suicidal thoughts spanning from 1995 and had feelings of emptiness. On the other hand DeMarte is also testifying that she believes Jodi's memory fog after killing Travis is a lie.)":

Most of the scores of missy's other psych evaluations weren't spoken about at the trial (look at the dots and where they fall):
Narcissium @ 60+, amorality @ over 80+, Ego inflation @ 70+, and imperturbability @ 60. (imperturbability [uncountable] A state of calm, unruffled self-assurance; aplomb, composure.)

I think JM will have to enforce the idea that missy was 27 at the time of the murder and she wasn't "young and immature" by any definition. I think he will find a way, IMO.
I see two that fit Jodi before age fifteen. Carl and the hammer, and DoggyBoy.
Wilmont and Nurmi will never be able to redeem themselves after Jodi, but that's what you get when you dance with the devil.
