Was born in 1949, too. Didn't get to watch the new Sixties show, but I am taping it. I think that was a good time to be growing up.

Whoohooo yippeee! Congratulations to your son!!! Way to go!!

Haven't felt very well all week .... No wonder. Seems I have bronchitis. Not much fun. (now why did the ipad spell-fix make the word Seems into "Case emus".? :floorlaugh: )

Take care of yourself- you need some rest. Has the MD given you some meds?

I thought the 50's were good- part of the 60's, too.

Remember "petal pushers"-?

I had clothes like this (and remember the hat and gloves I wore to church every Sunday- like the girl in the middle :floorlaugh:):

Arizona judge rejects bid to nix death penalty for Jodi Arias http://reut.rs/1mSj2mZ

ETA: An oral argument has also been added to the calendar on June 5th at 8:30 a.m.

That article posted was wrong about this???

" If there is another deadlock, a judge will sentence Arias to natural life in prison or life with the possibility of parole after 25 years."

I thought, if there's another deadlock , that she would just LWOP??

"For those concerned about her potential release in the event of a life with parole deal, he notes that it is no longer an option. “Even the chance of “release” after 25 years has been eliminated for murders committed after 2012.”

:waitasec:
I AM concerned, seeing as how she committed her murder in 2008.

I wouldn't be all that worried, if this as-yet-unchosen jury deadlocks, or if they decide life over death, it's still up to JSS to give her LWOP or, under the previous law, life with chance of release (if the legislature ever reinstates parole in AZ).

I give a 99% chance that JSS would give her natural life (only 1% that this trial knocked her so far off the sanity beam that she could consider anything less).

:tyou: Niner, I am going to bump up the banana intake. Can't hurt aye?

I never had any issues like this until now. Honestly is P***** me off to no end. I do not like have things that restrict me in life.
Hopefully it is a something that will work itself out.

Have a good day/weekend!
Nice here also, but I will likely be inside all day, I am planning on watching tennis and soccer and hockey (and maybe some baseball!).
I am starting to suspect I am a sports junkie

Cantaloupe has a higher potassium level than bananas :seeya:

BBM What? What were the nuggets? :scared:

I read the book last November and honestly can't remember what they were. I just remember thinking at the time that I was surprised. My recollection is that they were not earth shattering revelations, just mostly had to do with JA's early years, before she met Travis. I do plan to re-read the book -- I'll try and do that soon and get back to you.

On another topic, I'm not really concerned that she might get the possibility of parole (or let out of jail, anyway). Diane Downs, who reminds me a LOT of Jodi, has been eligible for parole for a long time. She's never gotten and my guess is she never will. She refuses to admit she shot her children and that is keeping the parole board from releasing her. I don't think Jodi will ever admit her claims of self-defense are complete bull**** either. She showed us over and over again that her "reputation" is all-important to her and she'll never do anything to damage it.

I prefer muskmelon. :drumroll:

On a related note, potassium's elemental symbol is "K" for its Latin name; i.e., Kalium.

There are at least 10 other chemical elements whose symbols are derived from their Latin names.

Can you name them?

(A little chemistry trivia while the Cardinals and Giants wait out a rain delay.)

Seriously, do any of us REALLY think she will EVER get out?
Travis' family, I can guarantee, will be at every parole hearing, for the rest of CMJA's wretched life, if indeed the opportunity of parole ever arises.

If she ever gets into the GP, she'll probably have quite a few trips to the infirmary.
She's a "trouble maker", an "attention hog", and so full of herself, the inmates and the Prison personnel all have the 411 on her.:bigfight:

I love Google, too.

I wouldn't be able to name any of the elements (even if they were in English )- never took chemistry in high school and besides I have PLUMBUM in my brain. :scared: :floorlaugh:

Do to her merciless killing of Travis and her fighting with people in jail I doubt she would ever get a parole. I cant see anyone in their right mind letting her out with normal people..:seeya:

Hi, wasn't 21 merci moving? :loveyou:

I don't remember.

Are you thinking of Niner- who was going to move to Latvia?

Maybe I'll go poke around April's Sidebar thread???

4/20.

(Nope- nothing about moving. Could be she's taking a break from WS?)

Anyone read her books?

My girlfriend just gushes when she speaks about her books and I decided to read the book- The Shell Seekers.

"..64-year-old Penelope Keeling is returning to her country house following a heart attack, and her three adult children have varying reactions to the news. The narrative is actually a series of deftly interwoven vignettes that shift back and forth in time; each chapter centers on one of the principal players in the family's history. The unifying thread is an oil painting entitled "The Shell Seekers," done by Penelope's father."

The Shell Seekers: Rosamunde Pilcher: 9780312961329: Amazon.com: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ActQ7hgCL.@@AMEPARAM@@51ActQ7hgCL

Guess I picked this one because I love Cape Cod and have a small collection of shells that I picked up from there and I use to paint- eons ago.

I don't like mushy, impossibly, romantic books :snooty: I hope this is not one of them.
