Would you want to sit on a jury ,knowing Jodi had your personal life in her hands. and that she won't have any problem in it using it against you in front of the whole world.

Do you remember last year (so far away) when she wanted the twitter, facebook, etc accounts of the jury?

What worries me about anyone connected with this trial that is not 'for' the defense or J. A, is what can or will J.Arias do after wards to get even or back at them? I hope all will be safe...JMO....I don't trust her at all.

It kind of happens behind closed doors meaning media rarely covers it and they are poorly attended (death row appeals hearings). In fact the only time I attended one was because a. it was serious and did result in one being released and b. we had to testify. As I pointed out in my impact statement, we were usually the only people on the side of the State while the murderer's side was filled with legal garnering tips on how to save their poor little death row murderers, including arguing for their PAROLE. The money that goes in to these proceedings is astounding..sometimes more than the trial itself, years later.

One of the first appeals filed on behalf of my sister's killers was that I was allowed to remain in the courtroom following my testimony but between other times I was recalled (I was called up 4 times I think to clarify things). Even though that was entirely legal based on the Victim's Bill of Rights, it was still appealed on--meaning a courtroom assembled, the murderer was likely transported to another city to attend and a Judge present and arguments made. For something that on it's face was entirely legal and a moot point. This is the kind of thing that goes on and on and on and soft Judge's like Stevens are allowing now to try and avoid this kind of dragging and appealing later but it doesn't matter. It will still happen no matter her rulings. They are afforded every luxury at every stage of their "consequences" for demonstrating to our society they are in fact the worst of the worst, treated like Royalty in the legal sense. All paid for by us while homeless people, mentally ill people and children don't get funding..we'd prefer to spend our millions on first degree murderers.

I can understand all the frustrations, but (and you may not like what I'm saying), even tho' the murderer is "the worst-of-the-worst", the laws must be upheld in order that there is justice for all (and that means for the $#%&# murderer, rapists, whatever, too). After all, we are not barbarians anymore (even if the offender may be/is) and every life is a life. The death of anyone at the courts hand must be absolutely valid- with all the dots doted and t's crossed- in all points (no matter how ridiculous they seem). A person is going to die here (even tho' that person has murdered). We are not murderers- just people who are looking for justice for the victim and his/her family. There must be procedures to go through (no matter how tedious they may be) because it's so important to be absolutely sure, best "we" can, (and by "we", I mean as American citizens), that all this is a valid conclusion in giving the DP. If it was my son on death row, I would want all the court proceedings, etc. scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb, before my son could be put to death.

I know it's really bad that all this takes so long (and is very taxing on the victim's family). I don't know the reason for that. It must be like living in limbo and it seems as if it's not fair.

Anyway- all my :moo: and you can say I'm blowing smoke out of my azz, but these are my feelings.

I hope there are no cameras or at worst they are allowed with 15-minute delay. I realize I could be the only one here hoping for this but I am sick, sick, SICK of this murderer being in the limelight and using the system to get donations and promote her artwork. I want her to go away and that can't happen as long she is center stage, whether it be live or after the fact.

I did read those articles by the federal prosecutor. My thoughts:

1. A gag order would not have been a bad idea as the jury was not sequestered.

2. Forgetting to read a jury instruction is indeed unusual and not good.

3. The sidebars were out of control.

4. There truly was no way that JA needed 18 days to testify.

ETA: YesOrNo, for some reason I am not allowed to "thank" your posts anymore. But thanks for posting so many useful things!

If I may add:

JSS not allowing the Alexanders to continue wearing their Justice for TA pins in court while allowing JA's people to wear domestic violence ribbons. (And didn't some even come to court wearing DV T-shirts?)

Of course we should not want any judge appearing biased against any defendant but bias in favor of the defendant is not the answer.

Considering how Phoenix media has treated their camera approvals this year (getting the okay but failing to have anyone in the courtroom to run the camera/streaming on most days, with the reasoning of not having enough staff available) unless a biggie like CNN has staff on hand, I'm somewhat leery of how this will work out. 3 trials during this year (Chrisman, DeVault and Hulsey, two of which JM prosecuted) and very little streaming or video released, quite disappointing.

This may be different because of the ratings the first round had, but any station would have to devote entire evenings to the video replays, or just put out bits and pieces, or put them on their site and give up so much ad revenue. Guess we'll have to see what their plans are if they get this request approved.

I just wanted to say that all of these informative posts today about JSS are certainly making me think twice about how I feel about her handling of this case. I really wanted her to avoid appeal issues, but I see some things now that make me feel like she could have been more assertive (to put it mildly) while still curtailing Arias' stall tactics. I have no real knowledge of the law and actual appeal-able issues, so I really appreciate the information from those who do (and who choose to share it with us).

I get so frustrated by this whole thing. I would love to see Arias behind bars permanently and the Alexanders at peace before I get any more gray hairs or grandkids. Going to go feed the bluebirds now and effectively dump my yucky thoughts.

I tried reading the legal request and if I understand it properly it appears to me that the request itself is asking for TV coverage to be allowed during the trial and the request states right above the conclusion that
"at bottom, a one day delay of video coverage......."

So I think it is worded to allow the court an alternative if they dont want to allow full live access to the trial. Because at the top of the request it speaks to the current ban altogether and by the title of the request itself ("Request for Camera Coverage") it appears they are asking for the ban to be overturned. With an alternative option provided at the bottom above the conclusion.

I could be totally wrong but that is how I take it anyway.

Hi Nore. Well here is how dumb I am....in case you all haven't already guessed. I don't go to the social websites. Just a privacy concern I guess. So when I went to Facebook today, I was asked for my name, my email and my birthday. Just to look! I didn't like that. So I turned off the Cookies on my iPad, made up a Nmae and birthdate and bogus email...just so I could look....then Facebook tells me I have to turn Cookies on. Well if I do that then they know who I am. Not that it's important. I'm a nobody but the government is so intrusive in our lives. My name, btw, is Sharon. So how can I view your page without giving them my identification? My son thinks I am nuts. But then, he puts everything on his FB page and he is 43. So I think he's nuts. Lol. Every time I ask him for pictures, he says "Mom, just log onto FB and download them from there!". Not doing that so I guess I am missing out.

I'd like to try and clear up something about the party numbers on the docket.

From what I can tell, party numbers will always been shown on the docket as 001 in a case where there is only one defendant. Using Arias' case number CR2008-031021-001 as an example the protocol seems to be as follows:

First 6 digits- Case type and year CR criminal, year 2008
Next 6 digits- Sequentially issued case numbers
Last 3 digits- Identifier for when more than one defendant is named in the suit, so that up to 999 defendants can be tracked in the system, all falling under the same legal action

In other words, all the 001 references under the Party Name column still apply only to the case and not the filing party. There is a separate column for the filing party which has only been used for pro se motions.

The identifier is used in the Party Name column on the docket when there is one defendant. For comparison, please see the docket for another case JSS is overseeing with two defendants, CR2011-005961. Even the headers on this docket are different, with Party Name absent. This information is probably entered into the court record system, but does not display on the docket.

Now that Arias is acting pro per, any motions she has filed on her own are distinguished under the Filing Party column on the right hand side of the screen. She is designated as Defendant (2)

Hey everybody, I am trying to catch up on today's reading. Been out for awhile. But I have great news first and I give all the glory to God! Hebrews 13:8.....I told you all I hurt my back last month and when the back doctor had me get an MRI, which he never looked at by the way, he just read the report and said my problem was I had a kidney obstruction and needed to see my urologist right away. Well, thankfully I already have one.

So my urologist looks at the MRI and says that an MRI smears the kidneys and you can't tell anything. So I had to get a definitive scan of my kidneys. And no blockage!! Nothing!! My urologist told me I didn't have a kidney problem but I wasn't going to say that until I saw the report for myself. I just found out this evening. Now I am not sure what to say to the back doctor, whose office visit is $150. But I will have to tame my tongue. I tried to tell him I hurt my back and he gave me maybe two minutes of his time and sent me to the urologist. I am not happy that my back is still sore but I am so happy my kidneys are good.

So I think I will just be happy. . Hebrews 13:8, by the way, says that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever". Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I still believe in miracles. Because I am one.

KCL, I agree with all your posts. What's that saying? Before you judge me, walk a mile in my shoes? Well friend, you have been walking in those shoes for years and most of us have no idea how your family has suffered.

My personal opinion of Keifer is that he is a creep, following on Nurmi's coattail for the publicity. Maybe he should date JA. Yeah, if she gets out in a few years, maybe the two of them can get together. But I hope he doesn't attack or abuse her. Because she said she would kill again! Wonder how HE would feel if he had been Travis that day!!!!!
