These Are The Only 13 Women Executed In America In The Past 40 Years

"..In the last century, only 40 women have received the death penalty in America — 13 since 1976, according to the Death Penalty Information Center...
BI looked into the stories of the 13 women on death row since the mid-'70s, many of whom killed their lovers.

And the guy who runs the other site is a convicted felon. :floorlaugh: Not that it's unusual--take Donavan, the convicted arsonist. How one's life can change, the company one keeps, after committing a murder.

Her family, too, has embraced the culture, or has been enveloped by it. My god. It's terrifying.

Yep, the same family that the defense claimed in court abused her as a child, practically abandoned her emotionally once they had a second daughter...has come to her aid. I doubt they are acting out of guilt for how they mistreated poor Jodi Ann. I think more likely they do her bidding because they are, and always have been, afraid of her.

ETA: And also because there is money in this for them.

JMO.

Fascinating the thought provoking information, YorN. Thank you. ETA: I'm supposed to be grading now but keep reading these articles...!

Well, I mean, one really does have to wonder if Jodi would have near as much support and would have won the sympathy of her foreman if she looked like, say, Aileen Wournos. Great post.

From the second link:

"As
Blind Justice
discusses in detail, jurors are manipulated in capital cases in many ways:

Their deeply held personal views on capital punishment are picked apart and used as a
litmus test of their ability to serve as member of the jury. Those adhering to beliefs
preventing a death sentence will be rejected, even though those beliefs are well within the
mainstream of public opinion."

I'm anti-death penalty and can appreciate the position of Blind Justice, but this statement seems illogical. If you reside in a death penalty state, it seems to me that there's nothing illogical or unethical about choosing a jury in this fashion. To eliminate the problem, the state needs to get rid of the death penalty law.

OK, not that others haven't said so time and time again, but until you really get a good look @ some of the JA fandom, you don't really understand the depths of their delusions, distrust of the legal system, and in some many cases, just plain stupidity. I've been reading on twitter for the last week or so - up to now I've read a couple blogs or whatever, but primarily read here. But what I had read before was nothing like the daily comments these people make. Those people are nuts! I'm not saying anyone that disagrees with me is crazy, not at all, but these 'ring leaders' of her groups and their assorted groupies? Nutbars and/or grifters. I just didn't fully realize what they actually believe and how little they understood from the trial, evidence, etc. Then you have those that just simply have the hots for her - that's a whole other thing. I think I've served my twitter time now and need a few really long, hot showers! I'll just stick to Jen, WAT or regular media for twitter news in the future, but it was an enlightening experience and I don't have to wonder how anyone could support her any longer. It is, however, a relief to realize that none of these people could ever make it on a jury. Doubt many of them could even find the courthouse! Just thought I'd share my impressions...

In the Spring, I decided to research the people who supported
cheerleader2-smiley.gif
missy:jail: also (because I'm nosey  and had a "need-to-know" :shame: ).

It takes all kinds on this earth and, boy, what an eye-opener it was to me also.
computer-hit-smiley.gif

Some were "in love" :heartbeat: with how missy :jail: looked , some thought the trial was "not fair" to her, some had "evidence" that she didn't murder Travis and other people did it????, one (George Barwood- alias geebee)
boum-schwati-oush-smiley.gif

thinks he knows missy:jail:, the US law, etc more than the prosecutor, IMO. (see his blog: Jodi Arias- An Argument for REASONABLE DOUBT - http://justice4jodi.wikispaces.com/ )- a real winner this one :scared:.

Some commiserate with missy's :jail: supposition of DV because of their own DV experiences and can't seem to see what is real DV and what is a lie, and some are just out for $ (like the "innocent"

website- who also ran the Florida murderer's "innocent" website).

I'm sure I left out many more reasons, but these few stick in my mind right now.

Some of her supporters, IMO, may make it on the jury. All they have to do is lie about what they believe or believe being "Death Qualified" is death only in certain situations (like the foreman).

To each his/her own, I guess.
dis-like-smiley.gif

And those "misguided" people think we are nuts, too, in our thinking. :floorlaugh:

It does seem illogical, but if the courts don't have this "litmus test", why bother having the DP at all? I don't think it's a "manipulation" at all (even tho' I am anti-DP, too). I think the article may be slanted, IMO, tho'.

Exactly! :seeya:

And the article is slanted, but it's meant to be; it's open and obvious about it since it's an advocacy group. I just think it could use better logic, which it does later in the article/essay.

BBM The advocacy groups think their "logic" is "logical". :floorlaugh:

And this is America- land of open mouths and, sometimes, trying too much to influence public opinions (but that's what they are trying to do anyway). :scared:

Yes/No-- thankfully there is little possibility any of her fans will end up on her jury- or anyone else's. More than a few aren't even in the US, and virtually everyone else lives outside AZ. Beyond that, they have to vote to be called for jury duty, and I'm gonna take a big leap and guess few or none are reality-based enough to be registered voters.

FWIW...I really advise staying away from any of her supporters webpages, even as visitor. These folks have been known to flat out stalk those who disagree with them, and they DO track visitors. Seriously. Some of these folks are no joke scary whacked.

PS. Rumor has it that the fellow running the justice4her site spent. $5,000 of his own money to build the site and set up a corp to use for soliciting funds on her behalf ( or so he says). He's the one she maligned on her phone call.

Its all so twisted and odd and wrong. What else could it be, though, since it grows from the poisoned root that is she.

Good afternoon everyone :seeya:

Prayers for Zoey and Zuri. God will give you the strength you need to carry on, I'm sure. :therethere:

You hit the nail on the head Curious . Too much money being made by "Big Pharma". Cures for cancer would not fulfill their greed, would not offer them the support for the lifestyle that they're used to living. JMO, but anyone who doubts, just do some research. It's not only unethical, it's criminal, IMO. Irregardless, there are too many deep pockets, so I'm sure it will go on until the end of time...here. Sad that they must not believe in a Higher Power, because there will one day be a day of reckoning. :moo:

I agree neesaki! They (Govt) should make marijuana legal, as it has potentially cures for cancer according to studies made! Just watched one - darn not recalling the name - but that is why BIG PHARMA are against it - they would lose all that BIG $$ for their cancer pills...

I have a recipe that my vet gave me and I DID have a couple of occasions to use it! I was amazed at how well it works. Take dawn dishwashing liquid and mix with peroxide and baking soda and rub paste all over animal that was sprayed. I let it sit for a few minutes before washing off. It was a miracle!

Oh, I'm glad to know this recipe!! There has been a skunk in our backyard now for a few nights, and now the Huz wants to go out there and make friends with him...

Marijuana is legal now is several states but it is no cure for cancer. It may make you feel better. So does opium. But it doesn't cure it.
