Is this really the best the mitigation specialist could do .. I think it's pathetic, there is plenty they could have said in mitigation .. like how Jodi developed a PD unchecked, how this affected her ability to hold down a job, friends, a relationship .. how she struggled, how she failed to understand what to do .. how about the fact Jodi moved out of home so young, and was allowed to move in with her boyfriend at this stage .. left to her own devices, struggling to made enough money to support herself, uneducated .. confused .. and warped .. on she plod, lurching herself from one disaster to the next, with no comprehension of boundaries, no close girlfriends to set her straight, etc etc etc .. anyway you get the gist .. I mean I'm sure of us could come up with strategies for mitigation, but as per usual in this case the people on her team refuse to address the obvious, or are letting Jodi (with her PD) get in the way of her own defence.

Slightly disturbing to me .. ever since Nurmi said he didn't like JA 9 days out of 10, I like Nurmi! His waffling no longer bothers me, and I have become 'fond' of him. :scared: Oh and ever since the interview with Troy Hayden and Wilmott's freaked out body language towards the defendant, I like her too, but not as much as I like Nurmi .. also I think Nurmi and Juan are going to sit down after this trial and have a great old chat about all the twists and turns.

I just watched this last night. I watch the Honeymooners nightly on DVD. I looooooove me that show!

I think it is just about the most perfect TV show ever!!!

I am so nutty about this show that, in the 80's, I dragged my sister and a couple of friends all the way to Queens (if you're in Manhattan, going to any other borough of NYC is considered a trip, no matter how close) to attend the first ever "Honeymoonies" Convention. It was a REGULAR RIOT! Lots of "woo wooing" while fluttering our Raccoon tails, stuff like that. "Trixie" spoke and was very gracious and kind of amazed at the reception for her. People from all walks of life, all ages were there just having fun and appreciating the genius of Jackie Gleason and that show.

A couple of years later, I got to meet Art Carney and I was all "homina homina".... of course, he was dead serious and not at all like Norton, but I was still in awe.

It seems like those were really innocent times...

That and also her reference to 1000 Places to See Before You Die, being given to his friends as motivational books ! Im wondering if Jodi was under the impression that was a book Travis specifically gave to her as part of the mating process.

I do think she thought it was a "special" thing b/w her and Travis. She mentioned it so many times, and even in her post-verdict interview she was trying to sound all worldly by saying she had been to so many places.

Oooooh....dueling Jodi shows...shoot.

Its 80's movie night here. Every Friday I rent a classic 80's movie for my daughter and I to watch. Tonight is "the Lost Boys". Time to show her what "real" movie vampire heart-throbs are.....:dracula:

Oh yeah, 80's anything is fun. Not to worry nothing new will be on the shows about the trial, and, you can catch the reruns on the net. I get excited about Dateline or 48, rather, used to, but we know more here than the shows can publish now, so there is no new news to be seen and a lot of rehash. Done without too much drama though, must give them a kuddos for not being "those" shows.

What? Where?
I'm in socal. We get earthquakes lots. A 5.2 would cause notice for sure!
Where was this?

Originated in Montreal was felt thru Ontario and Michigan.

I thought court was " unable to proceed" on Thursday because DT mispelled witness name and Juan found previous chemical issueccharge to potentially impeach her on..Who knows ..lots of info out there. I did read that after trial and sentencing that all " closed and gagged" events will be made public...That will be a great week read
I was wondering how that would happen - getting the info on the closed court hearings. Since the Alexanders are privy to everything that went on during most of them, I wonder if they are on a gag order of some kind.
If there is an appeal, (and there definitely will be if she gets the DP) wouldn't that info remain sealed?

I'm sorry, Mrs. G, but you're being way too sensible. I don't know what the folks on the defense side were doing, but thinking sensibly wasn't it.

Lol...great story!

It's almost 5 here in Texas View attachment 33967

TexMex! I wanted to thank you so much for that wonderful banana quesadilla recipe! OMG, that is so delicious, I have eaten it for dinner twice in the last week. Yes, for DINNER! haha. It's my favorite new thing. Thanks again!

I don't know for sure of course, but it seems to me like Jodi is the one who decided this mitigation strategy, just like she decided the strategy for the rest of the case. Someone else posted on here earlier that they thought Jodi didn't want to admit to any mental "problems," and remember through Dr Demarte's testimony Jodi was fuming mad at her the whole time? I think she wants everyone to see her as "perfect" (I know, I know). She wants ppl to think Travis was the one with the "problems," not her. She wants ppl to think she would never be capable of doing such a heinous thing, even though she's already admitted so I don't know what the point is? But I guess she was forced to admit it b/c of the evidence..so it really goes against what she wants ppl to think of her. She doesn't want to admit to any rage inside of her b/c that goes against, again, the perception she wants ppl to have of her. Also, that would make it easier for ppl to believe she planned it all out, and thatt's what she's been trying to avoid ppl thinking this whole time.

Looks like I can go to a PARTY tomorrow night! :D

Well, yes, but Mitigation Specialists are hard to find, and they don't have a tendency to make up things. They tend to go with what is. It is not always their daily job either. It is sometimes a sometimes thing, but in this case, I think that the Court appointed whomever was the very best available. That is something to think about!

I could not do it. I just could not. Could not be in there for 2 seconds much less any other amount of time. There are not enough sedating drugs in the world.

I couldn't do it either... Im claustrophobic I'd be a mess within 5 mins

I suppose you're right. But I do think Mrs. G has a point -- that the defense could have made more of the mitigating circumstances than they did. And that bit about being a talented artist! People are going to be laughing about that for years.

So true and insightful......guess JA thinks she knows best and allows her arrogance and cluster B issues to sabotage her defense...Starting to feel very sight empathy for Nurmi ..Oh well, I will assume that JA made an informed decision to go against counsel advice....Another reason why this convicted killer's poor judgment and arrogance demonstrates NO need to spend another minute in this society

I wonder if she has done anything for them the past five years. Art lessons? Helping the illiterate to read? Teaching English to non-English speakers? ANYTHING????????

I believe she got her GED.

Have you seen the old TV mini-series about vampires Salem's Lot? I love horror movies and nothing much scares me but this scene still creeps me out.

Anagrammy.... I need to hold your hand for a little while. thank you for sharing your story.

I still choke when telling about the day my nephew passed. He (and his brother) are like my own kids. Keeping him with me, with his brother, is key. He would be pizzed if we let it hold us back.
Btw....his brothers baby girl is due in July and we both agreed it would be amazing if she were born on July 2....the day he passed.

Thank you for your post. Thank you thank you. And...hugs to you.
