Very OT, but does anyone here have experience dealing with when it is appropriate to report suspected child abuse? (age 11-12)

I have lots of experience in this area! The minute you suspect it's happening is the right time. You don't have to have proof, just a reasonable suspicion. Call Hope4More. If your suspicions were unfounded then you can breath a sigh of relief, if not you could be saving a childs life. Please trust your gut on this and know you're making a hero move. :seeya: I'm proud of you!!!

I have a neutered cat 'Freddie'. About a year ago, he brought home 'Larry', barely toddling. He can keep her because I got her spayed last October. Don't have a clue where Freddie found Larry, but he was very nurturing and caring for her.

Since we are all O/T here I need some info from some of our peeps who know Houston well. I will be going to Houston on the evening of June 3rd to attend the Fleetwood Mac
Concert at the Toyota Center YAY ME !!!!!!
Anyhoo... we want to spend a couple of nights there and need some suggestions of a nice place to stay is that is not too too far from the venue...oh yeah and also food suggestions are much appreciated !!

I was not going to post this but when I saw Rainbow Bridge I decided to..
I lost my little Bonnie/Barny Wednesday. The Bonnie/Barny is because I recently found out from my neighbor Bonnie's name was Barny because she was born in a barn. I still have my Frankie and Monkey Cat, but how I miss my Bonnie, never be another like her. P.S. They are all cats.

So Nurmi paid the murderer a visit today. Looks like he didn't bring her a cinnabon. 1 hour with her and I bet he came out thinking "one more week with her and I am done". Done"

My understanding CMJA was " observed" when she started packing the car, Yreka police arrested and detained for Az PD, fearing " flight". I am uncertain when the 9 mil and knfe was found in the car she planned to travel in. Anyone?

I think the gun was found shortly after she was arrested. Her Mom asked them if they found the gun. They then tracked the rental car down and found it taped someplace under the hood. the knives were hidden in books she said she was taking to (I think) Matt. the registration was found in her Grandparents home. Evidently the popo were watching the house left in the night and were back early the next morning and she was packing the car. So they took her in to the police station in Yreka. (If this is not correct I hope someone will correct me.)

I am re-watching Samantha's VIS. Heartbreaking. I have a brother I love with all my heart, I can't believe the EVIL b*tch did this to them. It is so incredibly sad!

I doubt she feels anything, except regret for herself.

This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

Small town. Teachers who are oblivious. New friend of my son. See him on playground after school, crying hysterically. Ask- what's wrong? Answer... I accidentally hurt someone so bad he just got taken away in an ambulance. But, there is no ambulance, which I say to him 3 times, and he replies 3 times, yes there was. Then he says... my mother is going to punish me so bad for this. I say, whatever happened, I'm sure it was an accident and your mom will understand. He says, you don't know my mom (which is true), then says, she is going to beat me so bad. I ask-- you mean spank you, right? And he said, no, she beats me. Then cried more.

He's come over to our house 3 times since, and each time I have seen more and more subtle signs of what I'm pretty sure is emotional abuse. I've never seen bruises or broken anything, but don't think that is necessary before someone needs to worry about this child.

Experience with this, please?

You can report anonymously to CPS. In my state, if you tell the intake person what school the child attends, they will go and interview the child at school before informing the parents.

Too bad you can't just keep him and love him forever and never give him back. Poor little buddy.

Ugh watching HLN footage from court yesterday & they showed the evil horrible excuse for a human trying to be upset during statements & I broke in to tears & screamed die at the TV. I really can't wait for this to be over & pray she gets death it's really really unbelievable to me how someone can do those things to another human being especially to some guy she dated maybe not even dated more like "banged" for 6 months. I cannot wrap my head around this at all.

Lucy - it's real easy -- turn off the TV! An hour ago I turned on Jane Valez Mitchell when her show started to see if there were any updates, but as soon as she began showing clips from yesterday I was all done & shut it off. Seeing Steven & Samantha the first time was heart-wrenching enough for me.
