Agree, there is a form of bipolar that has audio/visual hallucinations as part of the symptoms...welll..what you just linked actually. It is often incorrectly diagnosed as schizophrenia or schizoeffective.

I didn't know this. :(

Oh heavens. You have now reminded me of a couple of favorite stories about our dearly departed Odds. Odds was my curmudgeonly tabby who, when he wasn't sleeping on top of clean laundry, just stomped around being generally peeved at the universe.

1. The first time I brought future Mr. Ynot home after a date, we were seated on the couch side by side watching a movie. Future Mr. Ynot pulled the age-old "stretch and yawn and put arm around the gal" move, and in doing so, uncrossed his legs. Odds, who had been generally lovey to FMY up to this point, moseyed over... put both front paws on edge of couch between FMY's legs as if seeking to be petted... and then reared back and double-paw-punched FMY right in the sensitive bits. This was no accident, this was Odds saying, "don't you mess with my mama, buster!"

2. The next time FMY came over for a date, we were cooking dinner together when we noticed that Odds was apparently chasing his own butt in circles. Not his tail, his butt. I picked him up, and realized that he had eaten the tear-off strip from the top of a bag of baby carrots, and was having... well, difficulties in fully passing this strip of plastic. You know those toy cars from when we were kids, that you'd run the plastic strip through to wind them up, set them down, and they'd go? Yeah. FMY got to pull the "ripcord" while I held the "racecar" and when I set him down, boy did he zoom. Possibly my Most Awkward Date Moment Ever. :floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: And thats how you knew he was a keeper.

Oh boy! "Unraveling the Lies of Jodi Arias" on 48 Hours. Sorry, CBS. That's gonna take a lot longer than an hour... Gee whiz!

My brother has schizophrenia and last hospitalization (during this trial) they diagnosed him as Bipolar/Manic. He didn't appreciate it and set the Dr. straight this past week. I was like "you go Alfonse advocating for yourself!". He's doing so great. :)

He's my watch dog...watching for the family to come home.

I've owned dobermans all my life. Wonderful dogs! My dog now is my first non dobie...

This is what I came home to today, the first time I didn't put him in his crate when I left...memory foam everywhere....ImageUploadedByTapatalk1368842498.033511.jpg

Father took her to pick up the rental (hmm, you mean you CAN rent a car in Yreka? Novel idea!) where she told him she would be gone for a few days and couldn't tell him where (Flores interview with Arias Father). The warrant was signed and she was under observation the prior evening to see if she would leave. Officers saw someone who they think may have been Mom Arias come to grandparents house that evening, talk outside to CMja, hug and then leave. During this time, CMja is loading stuff in vehicle.
Next morning, CMja goes to vehicle at which time she is arrested. Warrant served on Grandparent's home and parent's home simultaneously. Several knives inside books in boxes were found, along with 9mm ammo. NO GUN at that time.
Mom Arias later called LE to see if they had found 9mm. LE contacted rental place/or vice versa and it was found duct taped(?) to the engine block (?) although I think the firewall would have been more logical.
I don't know about the Calif/Mexico border, but the Az/Mex border has imaging technology suspected vehicles are run through to find anomalies in a vehicle. Guns are easily spotted. I doubt she was headed to Mexico because US rental cars are subject to search far more often than not, and specifically for guns and cash..........but I don't think she was that smart.

BBM Did they ever determine if any of these knives could have been the one used in the murder? I'm sure she discarded the knife with the gun, but stranger things have happened. Maybe she figured the knife couldn't be traced like a gun so why not keep a souvenir.

You are so right... often people think they can overlook the disabled input. I work with SMI and yes in my course of work and tx all my consumers have a choice and we work Together on a wellness/recovery plan...

Yeah...and it's a close call when it comes to diagnosing correctly....I have found there are many doctors who hear the words delusions, hallucinations, grandiosity, and automatically go to schizophrenia. They don't take the time to do a good thorough history and analysis of symptoms to see if there is a pattern. I cringe when I think about those types of docs messing with people's brain chemicals. Bipolar isn't cut and dried...there's a few shades of it..."regular" bioplar, Bipolar II, Bipolar with psychotic features. Honestly it is a real art, IMO, to be able to find a correct diagnosis when someone is presenting with so many symptoms that can mean any number of illnesses.

There are some JM-esque psychs out there though...there really are. Some that truly care about people, don't use meds unless necessary, don't over medicate and actually listen..listen to the symptoms and observe with their own eyes the subtle differences. I couldn't do it...I don't have the brain for it lol.

And yes, like you have seen,....it can go the other way too with wrong diagnoses. The differences can be really subtle and hard to tell. Like I said it takes a skilled doc to wade through it all, since having someone wrongly diagnosed (as you probably know) can have icky to reallllly bad consequences.

You jest? She is Fashion Roadkill:floorlaugh:

This is fascinating and really creepy scary knowing she has another face too ... The one Travis saw when she first attacked him in the shower ... The one Chris and Skye Hughes saw when they wondered if their kids were safe with Jodi in the house ...

The Many Faces of Jodi Arias.

Be sure to scroll through them from the beginning.

I'm sure they've talked to her until they are blue in the face. They can't go out there and say whatever they want without her cooperation.
I'm not so sure as you are. Part of the job was to establish trust and obtain her cooperation. Thats what mental health professionals do unless they're silenced by the legal team.
It was the MS's job to get JA's cooperation and she failed. She could have worked with her experts to obtain cooperation and failed at that too. She could have resigned from the case if the client wasn't willing to work with her but she didn't do that either. I guess the pay check was more important than the mentally ill client who threatened suicide to her lawyers and Psychologist and neither party reported it so that she could receive help. Lucky for them the razor blade stung too much or they might have a (technically innocent) dead client on their hands.

He will rule you all. You would be helpless to resist. Think about it carefully.

Thanks, but I already answer to Max. His boss is Molly, my senior cat, followed by Bob and Itsy-Bitsy. I'm 4th in line for just about everything :floorlaugh: But he is a cutie. Thanks for sharing him

Meet Bob

48 hours is on. Unraveling jodi arias lies

I have to say so far I am surprised how much sense the lawyer from the CA case is making. It's very frightening even as I sit here safe in my home....how one person could be so incredibly evil.
