Hey, Pages, Just checking on you and yours, did you guys weather out the storms ok ? :seeya:

Doing good, it blew through here pretty quick and headed to east Texas. We had a little rain and wind, nothing like Ft.Worth.

How are you and yours?

I heard that! Donating to a flurry of charities in the month leading up to your retrial and then running online to share your charitable donation doesn't really speak to her sincerity, does it? Also, the way people are reacting is kind of silly, but they're just baiting people, more appeal fodder. People really need to learn not to take the bait.
I do understand the blood money and not wanting to keep it. My uncle, who molested me sent me $50 cash as a wedding gift. He didn't sign a card, but I knew it was from him from the return address. I didn't want to keep it, but neither did I want him to have it, so it was suggested to me and I did it- I donated it to a charity called: Bay Area Women Against Rape. That was a fitting use for his "gift".

I take offense with people in the media who say over and over again that this case has garnered world-wide attention because of 'Sex, lies and dirty little secrets'. Calling this case 'hot', saying 50 shades of grey pales in comparison to what went on between Travis and the defendant and things of this sort is just misleading to say the least. Arias had nothing but sex to offer Travis so she manipulated him with that and he accepted the booty call. That's hardly shocking and it is NOT the reason that most of us are following this trial so closely. We're here because of the horrendously cruel nature of the murder (more akin to al Qaeda's torturous murders than anything normally seen in the US) and the absolute terror that this Arias person is. It's not every day that we see someone who seems to be inherently evil with nothing even remotely human. The battle between good and evil has always been of interest to people. Arias represents all that is evil. She is a freak in the worst way possible and people want to see her pay for what she did. That's what it is.

My feelings exactly. As a society, we never have to look very far for whatever degree and description of smut we want, if we want any at all. We don't often even need to look for it -- it's ubiquitous. I don't care how many holes Jodi has. Last I counted, she and I were pretty even in that category. It's not her sex life that has made her famous, it's her cruelty. She stands out from the crowd because of her absolute and unwavering dedication to doing harm.

There are a lot of people that do things like this. My ex daughter in law coughed up a small (very small 2,500 out of 15,000 in back child support) amount so she could say she's been paying her child support. She could go into court with clean hands so to speak. It's all a game.

I guess when you're a shallow person with no soul, you think others are the same.

I have a brother who does the same thing... he is over $40k in back support and he only makes a payment RIGHT before they head back to court for ANOTHER hearing because of something else he has postponed. Sadly, we cannot pick our blood relatives.

Some things to read over the dark day/weekend:
----------------------------------------

Revisiting these articles:

Jodi Arias — Guilty, Murder 1: A Psychiatric Analysis

"...Arias was not insane or incompetent or a battered woman. She did not suffer from PTSD, nor borderline personality disorder, nor was she a sociopath. The DSM IV, with all of its 365 diagnoses, does not explain Arias’s behavior and there is no one or no circumstance left to blame other than Jodi herself....

Arias will never show remorse for killing another human, will never say a kind word to Alexander's family, will remain defiant and in denial to the end. There is no personality disorder or psychosis that explains her actions. She is evil and a murderer and now will be held accountable..."

Is Jodi Arias A Narcissist?

"...Arias is fed by her supercharged ego, and she thinks she's the superior being while the rest of us are fools, an afterthought. After all, Jodi knows what’s best for her—right? To the narcissistic Arias, the infamy and notoriety of being a killer is so much better than fading off into the obscurity of life in prison..."

Arias Jury Foreman Just Won’t Shut Up

"...In the end, we can only scratch our heads and continue to speculate on how Zervakos truly arrived at his conclusion. Busted moral scales, perhaps? Did he sleep through much of the trial? Is he pathetically deluded? Painfully stupid? Or just hell-bent on nullifying the death penalty?..."

"Troy Hayden has been an official witness for several executions in the state of Arizona. Troy talks in depth with Kari Lake about what it’s like to attend an execution, how the process works at the prison, and what was different about the Joseph Wood execution"

This Zervakos guy had an agenda from the very beginning. Perhaps he knew that if his vote hung the jury during the guilt/innocence phase that a retrial would likely result in a first-degree murder conviction the second time around followed by a verdict of death. It would explain why he voted for Murder 1. Or he was convinced of Arias' guilt but wanted to be her 'savior' as well as make some $$$. Perhaps he thought that by publically speaking out in defense of Arias that she would agree to an in-depth, open-ended interview with him. He figured he'd write a book, perhaps cash in on a documentary as well. I remember his son admitting that Zervakos wanted to be famous. I will not be surprised if he does interview her once the trial is really and truly over.

BBM—agree with that 100%. I believe he had made up his mind early in the trial and stubbornly ignored JM impeaching all of the defense's witnesses.

According to the news reports I read about him advising the DT for this retrial, he appears to be getting more and more entrenched in his opinion as time goes on. I see now that deliberating further with him would have done that jury no good, ever. I hope there is no Mr. Zervakos on the next jury.

It's her covering. She uses it to hide behind it and it provides shelter. She always been a hair person, always changing her hair color, I think the length has stayed about the same. She does spend an inordinate amount of time on it.

I wonder how antsy she got when she had her hair chopped off last month.

Every time I think of Arias' hair it brings me back to her time on the stand when Juan was questioning her. She used her long mop to hide the fact that she wasn't really crying. She used her hair as a prop just like everything else.

My favourite part is seeing Mike Babicky on there as still the court reporter... i'm going to miss seeing him!

Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

I will miss him too.

I don't know how he can keep a straight face. Sometimes I can see a slight movement in his mouth- a certain flicker in his eyes- that shows what he is feeling at the moment.
But he must have heard so many crazy things in his career as a court reporter!

The man on your TV: Meet the Arias court reporter

"He’s in almost every shot of the Jodi Arias murder trial. He’s on a first-name basis with prosecutor Juan Martinez. And he arguably has the best seat in the courtroom. But you probably haven’t paid much attention to him.

He’s Mike Babicky..."

Men in Court Reporting
