Our forecast is -2 for the high tomorrow.
Rescheduled Dr. appt.
Not going outside at all - have cream for coffee, I'm ok.
Not even bringing out garbage cans, they can wait til next week.

As long as my internet does not freeze up, I'm a happy camper!

 Good morning all!

So.... nothing happening in court today?? :gaah: :pullhair:

re cold weather - found this in reading my latest Reader's Digest - for all you in the "cold" section of the U.S.:

Winter Woes:
*Unfreeze locks with lighters - hold the flame to your key for a few seconds. The key's warm metal will help melt ice crystals that have formed inside the lock.

*Shovel with cooking spray - Spray your shovel with nonstick cooking spray before getting started; snow will slide right off.

*Make your own de-icer - mix 1 teaspoon Dawn dishwashing liquid. 1 tablespoon rubbing alcohol, and 1/2 gallon warm water; pour the mixture over walkways to keep them from freezing again right away.

*Use your porch to refrigerate - if your fridge is full during the holidays and the temperature is 40 degrees F or below, place hardy perishables (like fruits and vegetables) in a cooler outside near the back door. Doing so will free up a lot of extra shelf space while still keeping food cold.

*Get unstuck with kitty litter - if your tires are spinning in a pile of snow, sprinkle a healthy handful of kitty litter or birdseed under them to gain traction.

:coldout: :snowball:

Half an hour until my massage - will trek over to the Re-Trial thread and "see" what's going on now...

:seeya:

Thanks for the tips.

I learned something new today. Heat the car key with a bic lighter and then try to unlock a stuck frozen car door lock. I bet that will work really good. Probably just need to go slow with it and may have to do it multiple times to get it to free up. Probably need to be careful not to force it either because we dont want to break off the key in the lock hole. I do like this idea though and never heard of this one.

For the cooking spray on snow shovel, I can attest that it works GREAT. I have done that many winters and it is great to keep snow from sticking on shovel. You sometimes have to apply another coat. If you dont have the spray oil handy, just plain old Canola oil or Vegetable oil or even motor oil can be poured directly onto the shovel and it works just the same.

Here is another winter tip I use. If I know an ice storm or snow storm is coming. I have those plastic sheets that come in a roll for painting and I cut them to size to go over my windshield and have plenty extra to hang off the sides. I then just slam the car doors on the plastic ends to keep it in place. Important: Watch your fingers dont get slammed...LOL

Sometimes water can drip inside the car a little bit with that method but if it is really thin plastic it usually doesnt happen. You can also put weights on the plastic to keep it in place but it is hard because things like to slide off the car hood and roof. I sometimes will just put a broom or 2 across the plastic to hold it down in spots.

Be sure to cover over the windshield wipers and all the way to the hood area. It makes it so nice after the storm is over to just go out and take the plastic off and just shake off the ice + snow.
Sure beats scraping ice.

My son decided that we should wait for the celebratory lunch for a better day, so here I am again.

It was from last night- don't really remember what time. Maybe some posts were deleted? Who knows- I really don't read there on a regular basis, but
I do occasionally stop by and, darn, wouldn't you know it, something is always up at that time and I didn't really know about it, except for the :fireworks: :sheesh:

Anyway- Pftt.

OUTRAGE IN ARIZONA!!!!: Judge Sherry Stephens allows a defense team to torture victims and bleed taxpayers in a courtroom run amok!

"...What the heck is the matter with Judge Sherry Stephens and why does she seem so furiously Hell-bent on helping the defense team in the Jodi Arias trial, bleed Arizona taxpayers dry and undermine the system?..."
