Going to thrift stores is my hobby....like going on a treasure hunt. And no....I am NOT a hoarder. Haha. Along the lines of the music talk....when my two older kids were young, like 10-12 I got tickets for them and my brother to go to an Aerosmith concert. At the time the kids are all into Aerosmith and thought I didn't know much. I told them HA....Aerosmith came out when I was in high school and I have all their albums.

I am so sorry for your loss TX! I know your pain as I lost the love of my life as well this year. He loved Neil Diamond and that is one reason I posted songs by him. Travis was also a fan and his loss has touched me more than I thought possible. What an amazing young man and tragic loss for the world.

Stay safe.

Hi deanna... I also know how hard it is to lose a loved one and hope you (and TX and everyone else here who has experienced this) know you are not alone. It's so tough, but being around good people like all these terrific Websleuthers sure does help - especially when we're sharing music and stories.

Now, as for Neil Diamond! The love of your life and Travis had great taste, not only for his music but also for the type of man he is. I hope this doesn't come across as my being a name-dropper but because of my line of work I've been exposed to lots of people, and I can say with absolute certainty that Neil Diamond is a remarkable man - very caring, down to earth, fun... I bet he would LOVE it here and would probably throw up a few videos himself!

Anyway, here's one of my favorites of his - perfect for a Sunday morning:

I sure miss the days when MTV played music all day.

Totally off topic but....I'm paranoid that Casey Anthony or Baez won that powerball jackpot.

usually I get tired of the CA trial being sort of endlessly dragged into everything.......and this made me laugh out loud for real.

Brought over from last thread, VivianVance:

"Hi there! Unfortunately, we arrived too late - he and his crew had already left (sobbing here - I let Sleuth and segue down).

I guess it's okay to say where they filmed - the Curtis House Inn in Woodbury (oldest inn in CT). It's supposed to have a haunted guest room. Their website said they'd be filming til the 15th but I believe they left yesterday. We were so close....

Where in CT are you? It's a beaultiful time of year here, isn't it?"

I am near Hartford, my second year here. We came from CA, and although I have enjoyed the true "4" seasons, I now HATE snow lol. In those two years we have been through: Tropical Storm Irene, the freak Oct. snowstorm, tornado warnings, an earthquake (? - not on par with CA, and neighbors said I brought it here lol), Sandy, and the 2013 blizzard...I think I've had enough!

Oh I know! I'm from NYC originally and am somewhat used to the weather but this last year was horrendous! That last blizzard was just about my last straw - and being in the boondocks it's not as though you can just walk a block to the store like you can in the city. Mr. Mertz wants to move to the desert but I once (neurotically) thought I caught the hantavirus in NM, so that's out! I'd move to CA in a heartbeat - love the weather. Where in CA did you live?

(I HATE when I see a typo in my post - neurotic NYer that I am!)

I thought it was just me...I told my sister I hope it wasn't the Anthony's or Baez that won...:floorlaugh:

Aaahhh! Chris Whitley! This was my favorite of his songs but I just felt like he just got warmed up...then he was gone. RIP

Love his music! Specially this album.

Thanks you guys for all the music videos. I love music of all kinds. Have 400-500 albums or rather I should say HAD because my 27 year old assumed them as his. I'd rather play CD's anyway so no big deal.

Someone earlier said on his MySpace Travis also liked to play guitar
