BBM see what I mean about SWBB (selfish, wasteful Baby Boomers) and everyone saying we are terrible. :gaah:

My brother has a version for the current trendy Tech heads: "First World Problems". Like when your iPhone won't work in your electric car. Or Starbuck's forgets to punch your coffee card.:shame:

Jerry Brown is putting California on a drought restriction.....................25% less water usage.

Just an FYI.

But ya know, CA is going to fall into the ocean in the future... and folks in the next states will have ocean views then! :laughcry:

I'm counting on it!!!!! LOL!

Folks in Texas still think "Global Warming" is a hoax. Tell that to Iceland, Greenland, and Antarctica. When do people argue about science? Maybe California should just go to YorN's place and take her snow, that'll work! :floorlaugh:

BBM And they're welcome to it! (I'm very generous :floorlaugh: )

There's still about 1 1/2' of snow on the land and in some places, 4'.

I have changed my "clothes" lmao! Reminds me of... two years ago... one night a bunch of us did cougars as our avatars hehehe. wonder why we did such :giggle:

BBM I remember that night. I couldn't do it because I didn't know how to change my avatar with a pic that wasn't from WS's stockpile.

Sleuth5, lil buddy, sequek9, Viviane Vance- remember them? We had lots of fun.

I don't remember why everyone changed their avatars to cougars that night??? Something salacious probably (wild group)

It's finally warm today! 60's. We went downtown to have dinner, and walking along I saw crocus blooming!! There is hope winter is over. Yea!!! :)

I wonder how they are going to enforce. Hope for our California neighbors that this drought turns around and things are better in the next couple of years.

:silly:

OMG that's so funny (and clever)

ATL- you reported us to Obama?

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

BTW: The repairman came for my new, water/energy saver washer :( .

He told me all about the new energy/water saving bull and said that my hot water is at the level (100 degrees) that the gov't has deemed necessary for saving energy.

The water level is also at the" correct" level (Pfttt).

He had all these gov't charts on his computer that I had to look at (wish I had copied the website) :(

He also said that I was lucky because the "levels" are going to be reduced starting, April 2015, again and my machine has much more water/heat than the new ones that will come out this year and onward!!!

Poor guy- he said he has had so many calls because of the gov't's policy on washers "energy" savings features, so, seems that there are lots of SWBBs around and not just on WS.

So even tho' I could return the machine, I'd still have the same problems with any new machine. Bahhhhhhhhhhh

:stormingmad:

When we first got our new front loader, I thought it was pretty neat. My satisfaction lasted about a month until I realized all the new "issues" that came along with this washer.

For starters, the thing seems to run forever. It seems to run twice as long as my old top loader did.

Then there is what I thought was neatest thing to be able to see through the front while it is running. That cool factor didnt last too long when I also get to see the moldy dirty water that always collects right there near the window.
Ill have to try the vinegar trick.

And of course we cannot forget how it tricks us into thinking it is done. I will walk in the laundry room to check on it and think "Great, its done". Only to be fooled as it starts to turn and run the other direction. LOL

Whenever I need another one someday, we have already decided its back to traditional top loading for us.

I remember doing that, too...I just can't remember why, exactly....heck, I can't hardly remember what I did 15 minutes ago....lol.

And then there was the time we posted actual photos of ourselves as our avatars, for one day only...remember that? I was impressed how attractive a bunch we actually were....heh heh!

I'm, sort of, thinking it had to do with that "Prancercise" lady, her "cameltoe" thingy, and her age??? Everyone was vicious that night and for days about her, IMO.

I didn't post my pic that time as I don't have one of me on my computer (and don't know how to add pics to the computer- then or now anyway ). A beautiful bunch of people tho'.

We use to stay on the Sidebar 'til late in the night and posted lots of music videos (wonder why that stopped. Oh yah, I remember now :(- they closed the trial thread and everyone came over to the Sidebar to talk about the murderer and spoiled all the fun :( )

Help. Every time I try to reply I get a message that I need to add 5 characters and when I add more I get the same message. I guess that is why I don't post much. What is my problem?

It's not you, Feebot. The board just gets cranky and sassy sometimes. It happens to most of us occasionally and no one has figured out why. I think if you can sart over (close the thread, then reopen and make a new reply) it may not do that. Not sure, though.

Oh.... also, if you did a "reply with quote" be sure you start typing after the last bracket of the
It can really mess you up if you start before that last ]

Mikee Daniels is back :)

This guy's a blast, lol.

... Kinda hits the nail on the head, IMO. Still, I think it's best that the killer gets LWOP... and she'd better.

Oh, and the
"one way trip to Mars"
for the killer and the "Jodi trolls" , Yeah, that too. JMO

If you are doing tile to hardwood, I suggest a separator that is flush to the floor vs. those that have a hump. This white piece (it is not wood, it is some type of stone???) showing is from my laundry room to the back hallway. I did as others suggested for tile, and did a darkish tile with a dark grout as I bring in Georgia clay from the yard when walking in from the garage through the laundry room.

OK, I'll put in my two cents as to putting in tile vs. hardwoods in your kitchen. I thought the same think when I redid mine. But I went with hardwood and OMG OMG it made the house look twice as large as the rooms flowed into each other with the same flooring. It was a SHOCK afterwards as to how large everything was once I did it. Plus, I don't like the cold on my feet from tile, unless you live in Florida. And I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, so standing on tile does indeed hurt my back.

And as to horror stories on putting in hardwoods... I purposefully went with a company that had a storefront so that they would not be "fly by night" installers in case I had a problem. (Putting in these pecan floors was over $10k, so wanted to ensure it was done RIGHT) Anyhoo, glad I did such as I had to have the installers RIP OUT the job twice when 1/2 finished each time.... a long story ... but so glad I did such and was able to get the owner out to review and make right (FYI first issue was the used the wrong sized trowel for the glue that was not specs to the installation... "not according to industry standards" and second time did not level kitchen as requested)

Off to do my laundry ;) and waste water.... 'cause I can!

ETA: Trying to turn picture! :gaah: can't figure out how to rotate...GOT IT after 3 tries

I really like that, you have a pretty kitchen :) and do at times regret not having the hardwood continued into the kitchen. And, yes, tile is harder on the old back...

My husband and I really like old homes like yours, and love that tiger oak fireplace. They don't make them like that anymore. So you put new wood over your old floor? It turned out really well. Back in the 90's we built a house and did the floors in old pine, 6 inch wide boards. We loved it, though being a soft wood it did scratch rather easily, but we didn't really mind as it just added to the character. Funny how people pay big money for pre-done floors that have been distressed and with big grooves carved in them now, :giggle: . Go figure !

Well dear Neesaki ,we had a choice of refinishing the old floors (and all the mess) and moved out for a week or new wooden floors. At our age we decided we didn't want the mess of refinishing. Yes, love my tiger oak and that pic of my dining room; that hutch is actually a dumb/dummy waiter! Kitchen was in the basement many years ago and we still have the well in the floor with water in it at all times. My home has plenty of history...with a ghost, Honest :)
