We got some rain in the last couple of days in the East Bay, didn't you?

It rained night before last - but that was it. My friend in Davis said they had hail and thunderstorms- we just got some good heavy rain for a few hours. It looked like it might rain yesterday morning but didn't happen.

One thing that's bothered me for years is how much water must be wasted by restaurants automatically placing water at tables - this drought seems to have taken care of that. We've been really good about conserving for years - just don't know how we're going to have to take another 25% off of that...

Someone posted about the prison officials sneaking Jodi out in the middle of the night- they tried that with Scott Peterson too but the press was ready and waiting...I still smile every time I see him bump his head while getting into the prison van - twisted person that I am...

Hi, Nore (a voice from your past here, lol)

So sorry to hear about your puppy. My dog had colitis once & between the meds and my feeding her plain white rice & boiled chicken for about a week, she finally got better. She was about 12 at the time...the vet told me not to allow her ANY people food at all & only a few small treats a day (she weighed 85 pounds then, so adjust accordingly). After she had that bout, I was diligent about what she ate. When I'd go to visit my mom for holidays/long weekends, one of my brothers would inevitably sneak her some people food and she'd get sick again (tho not as severely, thank God). Then I had to train my brothers, lol. Oh, vet also said dog bones to dogs are like candy bars to us - quite fattening & not very nutritious. I used to give most of my dogs raw baby carrots for treats & they loved them...

So, plain white rice to bind the stuff in intestines & boiled chicken for the protein. If you cook the rice in the chicken water, it'll be more palatable instead of so plain. Plain hamburger is good (drained of course), too, if Buffy gets tired of chicken, but keep the rice coming every meal. Try for 3-4 smaller meals a day. I do hope Buffy gets better!

Sorry for the OT everyone!

I remember when I visited relatives in Sacramento for 2 weeks one time and I had brought an umbrella. My relatives laughed at me and I thought they were kidding at first. After the 6th or 7th day of waking up to beautiful blue skies I realized they were not joking with me.

By the end of that trip I realized why California has so many fires. They dont get enough rain. There was brown grass on sides of highways and its amazing that any trees can survive.

For the water rationing I think they need to also make sure large companies and businesses do their part. 1 large business will use more water than 1000 homes and especially if the business has to use water for something.

I think the government always goes after the residents first without making sure businesses do their part. It seems businesses get exceptions and waivors and they are the ones that will use 1000 times the water residents do. I do understand that certain businesses have to have water to run their business but I dont think the government does near enough in the way of forcing businesses to do their part.

I also know farming should get special provisions. I am mainly referring to normal type businesses that would not have water as a main source of survival. These are the places the government needs to really ensure do not waist water.

Ive been under water bans before as a resident and it is not fun. It puts neighbor against neighbor and causes lots of grief. You will always have some people that try to break the rules and it is a recipe for disaster if not handled right by government.

Instead of road rage you end up with neighbor water police rage. :)

Because we are on landfill, we get water that rises up when and if (rarely the last year) it happens to be wet outside which has to be drained from the crawlspace, so we hook up a pump and a hose and run the hose out to the curb and drain the water from under the house that way. I cannot tell you how many times we've had angry people knocking on our door to point out the water that is continuously running from the hose and how dare we? They then get a pretty sheepish expression on their faces when we explain it's being drained from the crawlspace of the house. So you're exactly right about water police...

I had to go back and read what happened to you. Don't be sorry. Just take it easy and rest. Hope you heal fast. Glad that someone is there with you.

Does she pack up her cell or do they do it for her???

She has the Estrella "Valet Service" do it for her, LOL!

She goes straight to Perryville Monday, no going away party, no picking up her stuff, straight to PV.

If they sue for wrongful death, does she have to appear in her jail uniform as opposed to street clothes???

I really don't know. I haven't heard of a wrongful death trial in Arizona, but I probably wasn't wired into that stuff before.
I wonder if they'd set it up at Perryville just because she's more than likely going to be a "lifer"? They have the facilities that they use for parole hearings so they could use them.........
When I divorced my 1st ex, who was doing what was supposed to be a flat 7 years, Perryville brought him to the court proceedings (the same court complex as CMJA's trial) in shackles (waist chain, bracelets and anklets) and orange scrubs. I don't think they'd let her wear civies just because they'd want to make sure they could identify her if there was an escape attempt. He came from and back to Perryville each time, was placed in a holding cell in the basement of the court house until the case was called. And he even had his own personal guard, lol!
They have real strict rules on transport from any of the jails and prisons. Most of the transports to the court are done real early in the morning, like 6:00am? (this was like 30+ years ago) Then they have transports going back to prison at noon, while others are coming to the court for 1:00 hearings, trials, or conferences. The classification of the prisoner decides whether they go on the "party bus" with a bunch of other felons, or the short bus if they don't play well with others or are a transport risk.

I have a feeling they will sneak her out like a thief in the night.

Naw, they'll put her on the short bus with 2, maybe 3 sheriff's vehicles, at least one in front and one in back. She won't be transported with other prisoners because she's "unclassified". And because she'll be alone, they'll leave ASAP. They won't have to wait for other inmates that need to return to Perryville.

I hope you are not feeding him Beneful dog food?

I feed The Queen Beneful dog food- both the dry and the wet- and The Queen loves it and is healthy.
I know there was a recall some time ago, but I think I read that the food wasn't stored correctly at the stores. I buy at Walmart and their food
just flies off of the selves, so it's always fresh, IMO.

You are welcome. Many of us won't be getting anything done Monday except following the JA sentencing and all that's associated with it. I've a huge X marked through Monday on my calendar

I have pushed everything aside so I can be here on Monday to watch the CMJA Finale. I have to get my youngest daughter (3rd grade) on the bus for 9:15..sooo.. I'll be a few late getting here. Other than that though.. I'm planning on being front and center. Hopefully I wont miss too much on my way down to the school bus. I'm actually hoping they DO start a little late as typical for this case! Maybe Nurmi will want to talk for 20 minutes about nonsense and I wont miss anything. lol

Hi everyone. It looks like many of us or our pets are falling apart. I have had the flu. Tomorrow will be my third time to the doctor in the last two weeks.

I just got on the computer today to look at one of my favorite You Tube people Elle is for living. Her Easter Sunday chat was about positive thinking or something like that. What do you think they are talking about in the comments? The law of attraction and The Secret. I just can't seem to get away from this stuff.

I can't wait for Monday. I hope everyone is recovering and feeling better for the show.

So sorry you have the flu. I hope you will be improving with each day and by Monday will be feeling perky enough to join us here for sentencing. I will always remember your kind invitation when I was thinking about going up to AZ for trial. You are a very nice lady Charterhouse.

Thank you everyone for your lovely condolences. I cried for the first time over all these losses after reading them. It is so lovely to know people care as I knew you all would.

Daisy, I am so sorry you fell trying to be Edward Scissorhands and broke your arm. The pain is excruciating I am sure and I hope the pain meds will work. Please take good care and don't worry about a shower or anything like that. Hopefully you can find a position of comfort, maybe using a pillow to prop.

Xoxo to all of you.

Chelly Full of Nuts is great coffee and puts a smile on your face every morning. ;)

I'm sorry and can empathize. I'm sure they will recommend physical therapy for you once you have healed enough- though it may be painful I really recommend you do it. I fell, dislocating my shoulder and tearing my rotator cuff and being self-employed didn't have the time to take off for physical therapy and/or surgery - and my shoulder has never ever been the same. I do hear physical therapy can work wonders with shoulders so once you're ready - do try it. And I know what you mean about the pain - I was shaking and sobbing from the pain - and taking Percocet like it was candy on Halloween. I feel for you. It will get better - it will just take time... Hugs to you (on one side!).

All this water rationing in Cali?
The reality is people don't want to live in the environment nature has placed there. They want lush lawns, grass and vegetation medians on the streets, vehicles washed when they get a hint of dust, swimming pools that are filled all year round and maybe the owners use the pool 100 hours out of the year. Non-native trees that take large amounts of water and evaporate most of it into the air through their leaves, fountains, fountains, everywhere, water features in yards that don't serve any purpose but aesthetics.

I've seen the influx of Californian's that did it to Scottsdale, and the same up here in Prescott the last 15 years.
Now tiff grass may be all soft and green, but it's a water hog, go bermuda, and in the winter, forget the rye grass, just let your lawn take a rest and go dormant. Get timers and water at night. Put low flow shower heads on your shower, who need 5 shower jets to get clean?

Why doesn't California take these fines, and higher water costs, put it in a fund, and get other drought ridden States to pitch in and create a canal from the Mississippi River to the West Coast? Big Oil can lay down 10's of 1000's of miles of oil pipe across the Nation, why don't we have a canal system that takes water from the Mississippi that FLOODS every single year since the beginning of time, and divert it across the US?? Think of the money FEMA and private uninsured home owners would save if their homes weren't destroyed by rising flood waters?

The Hohokam Indians put in the first canal system in the area now known as he Greater Phoenix area. Current canals were laid right on those ancient canal systems. That's how snow melt from Flagstaff gets to Phoenix. Creeks, rivers, lakes, canals.
Why Tempe would build "Tempe Town Lakes", an artificial water lake system in the Salt River Wash bed is beyond me. On a sunny day in Phoenix, you can loose 5-6 inches of water in evaporation alone, without the wind contributing.

Just because "we can", doesn't me "we should". You mess with Mother Nature and eventually she slaps you back.

And the rich will pay the higher cost and fines that water restrictions come with, while the little guy gets screwed taking 5 minute showers.:gaah:

Aurgh. Rant over..going to chill.

So sorry you are experiencing all of this daisymae. Be careful after you take your medication. It might be why you are falling down. Hydrocodone can make you dizzy and very sleepy.
I agree its very good you have someone with you. Go slow and call on your roommate as much as you can for support going here and there. I hope you feel better soon and heal quickly.
