Cubbeegirl, I feel your frustration and sadness. I think what always bothered me was losing the "family unit". I had so hoped to have a long and happy marriage with children and grandchildren gathered around for holidays. Now, the family has scattered and carry their own scars. My ex destroyed his health to the point of losing his short-term memory, developing cancers, and died before 65. On the in- law side, two heroin deaths (one a complete shock) in the same family, both young adults.

California prison inspection uncovers unsanitary conditions

"...There was no hot water in bathroom sinks, and dishwashers did not heat pots and pans to the temperatures needed to ensure sanitation, the report said. Inspectors found cockroach infestations and showed pictures of rodent droppings.

In the kitchen, raw chicken was stored above cooked halal chicken for Muslim inmates, raising the risk that the raw meat could drip onto the cooked food and contaminate it...."

Dear Coffeejunkie girl, just to be sure, this is a totally no pressure situation. Did I forget to mention I have absolutely no first hand knowledge, whatsoever, zilch, nada, on CBT....
Of course if you do get to the point you want to share with us what you think about it please do. :). I would more than welcome your take on it. :loveyou: (((hug)))

At first glace I can give you somewhat of an opinion :) It's mind over matter, you're relearning your brain new patterns. A few years ago, after I had my anaphylaxis shock, I would say hog wash! lol But, after what I have gone through and experienced myself...I totally have a new respect for learning new brain patterns. I was in a bad way when I started my rehab. I could not count, did not know the days, could not remember words, names of things. After rehab I learned how too reprogram my brain by just playing mind games over and over. Still not like I was, but I get by :)

So, my first impression is...maybe they have something with this CBT. One the other hand; looks like a fancy country club and must be pricey :) And, the 64 dollar question is........would my son be willing?

Will study more about CBT. :blowkiss:

B. B. King, Defining Bluesman for Generations, Dies at 89

"B. B. King, whose world-weary voice and wailing guitar lifted him from the cotton fields of Mississippi to a global stage and the apex of American blues, died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was 89.

His death was reported early Friday by The Associated Press, citing his lawyer, Brent Bryson, and by CNN, citing his daughter, Patty King...."

Today it's gonna rain and I have my yearly check up with my cardiologist. Will get the results of my test I had last week.

I am reading the book that Kim Anne Whittemore 'Behind the Words' wrote and JA is such a immature know-it-all!!!! She sounds like a 8th grader! And throwing out her 50 cent words here and there, makes her sound stupid... haha!

B. B. King, Defining Bluesman for Generations, Dies at 89...sad. I enjoyed listening to him.

Not to change the subject or diminish the importance of this discussion, but where do you live that $110/wk (x4) = a house payment? I'm not being flippant; I would sincerely like to know where someone could live and have such low mortgage payments. Looking forward to retiring someplace cheaper, so TIA.

LOL... Oh Gigi, I guess I am really showing my age here  It was a house payment for me back many years ago! Of course I believe I was making about 8 bucks an hour back then :giggle:
And that was decent money at that time.

My younger daughter is getting married and she just bought a very small 2 bedroom house, and her house payment is Seven hundred something dollars a month, so as you can see I was way out of the loop

RIP :candle:

I love his music. Love the blues. I saw him in concert several years ago. He interacted with the audience with his stories. Very personable. He will be missed worldwide, but we still have his music. He is riding with the King. RIP

Look how blue the eggs are! Momma Robin laid her last egg on May 5. She start incubating the eggs during the evening after the second egg is laid, or after all the eggs are laid. They sit on the eggs for 12 to 14 days. Soooo....we should have babies soon!!

Every time I look at the eggs they are moved around. Been fun watching this process :)

Turquoise eggs...sooo beautiful. Kind of a pity they have to hatch...lol. What fun, though. Babies of all kinds. Never was able to have any myself, so I doubly appreciate everyone else's. :)

When I visit the Sidebar, I am always so impressed with the wisdom, strength, love and good humor that abounds here. You people are so remarkable. Do you even know how great you are?? I'm tearing up, just thinking of how lucky I am to be part of such a wonderful group, and how proud I am to call you my friends. I know it's only online...but there are real people whacking away at those keyboards, being so open and honest, so kind and generous. It's such a joy to stop by here every day and read your posts...I know they all come straight from the heart. I never tire of it. Or of you...all of you!
:tyou:

We love your posts too and are so glad you come here!

So sad but true.. I just came back from taking my ex to the ER..his heart rate was 220.. They shocked him twice to get his heartbeat regulated and he is now in ICU...so sad , and it's true, we miss the person they were, but they are so wrapped up in getting high or looking for a way to get high that they don't miss us...
I was shocked to learn in one rehab stint that many opiate addicts also become addicted to crack for that very reason...it's available , it's cheap ...and makes them not care about their pain....
I thought I was over the heartbreak, but tonight my heart is broken for what my once really amazing husband has let his life become...
So glad I have you all to understand.

I am so sorry for the heartbreak you are experiencing and I am so glad your ex husband has you, still, after all these years. It sounds as though the cardioversion was successful and hopefully they can get his heart rate stabilized with just medicines or an internal defibrillator if needed. What a truly lovely person you are. Hugs to you and yours.

Oh my goodness, CJ, I didn't know you'd gone through anaphylactic shock. :scared: Was it from food or meds ? How scary for you, am so glad you are doing well today.

I agree with you, that place looks like it would cost a pretty penny, lol. Their website is informative though, was thinking that depending on the town your son is in, there might be some CBT therapists that could work with him as an outpatient. Whatever the case, I pray that he's willing to do something.

Haha, talking about showing your age, my first house payment was 127.00 a month. :giggle:

ETA: Something weird is going on, my quote keeps messing up, won't show up correctly. This makes it look like it Gigi's post , but it Dmacky's . Well, sort of, :waitasec: it's just not right. :/ Anyone else having that problem ?

Morning, Peeps!
Snow once again in Arizona, down to 6500 feet by Saturday. OMG. Pure insanity but it's either going to make for a gorgeous Spring or dry foliage for our summer fires when it heats up. I'll take it either way! It's nice having the dust kept at bay!

OMG ~~~~

That is unbelievable Bernina! That is just crazy  It is beautiful to look at though, as long as it isn't here in Kentucky! I can't imagine that much snow in the middle of May, especially in Arizona! That is just crazy  I remember it snowing here once on Derby day, I think it was 1984 or 85. But nothing like that!

I can remember as a child how much I loved the snow. But since I've gotten older, not so much... AT ALL! We had our share on Feb. 16, 10.9 inches. ... and then again on March 6, 11.9 inches. That's a lot for us.

My apologies to Dmacky and Gigi for my screwed up post above, I don't know what's wrong and can't fix it. :/

Yes I am having the same problem! Gigi's post also showed up on my reply, but it looked like I posted it?? I noticed last night that some of my posts looked like Ricki posted it, but it was me!

Anyway Neeski, My first house cost $45, 500. Our payment was so high because we only put down $2K and the interest rate was 13%. This was in 1980!

You didn't screw up Neeki. It has been posting/replying like that since yesterday
